Partner and I are looking for advice on the best area in SF to stay first week of Dec. We plan on doing tourist stuff all over SF, but we want to stay in an area that has a lot of amenities that we can easily walk to (restaurants, grocery, public transportation, etc). Where can we find the best of all worlds in one neighborhood?

Hi all, going to be visiting the USA soon, flying over from Europe. I'll be landing on 16 November to LAX, but picking up a hire a car and leaving straight away and heading to San Francisco. I'd originally planned on taking CA-1 but unfortunately it seems like parts of it are closed, so thinking of just taking I-5 now to save time.

Where would be a good area to stay in San Francisco, or should I stay across the bay in Oakland. As I'll have a car, will need somewhere with secure parking, to avoid my car being broken into.

I like hipster neighbourhoods with cool bars, restaurants and coffee spots, enjoy stret art and cool architecture.

If anyone has any craft beer recommendations, please shout out. Would love to find somewhere that does good barrel aged stouts or barely wines. Is Toronado worth visiting. I know that it is cash only and I usually avoid these places. Also, does anyone know why it is still cash only, when a lot of places are the opposite nowadays.

I like my natural wines, so any good food places that serve natural wines would be great.

Also just general food places in general, especially Mexican and Asian food and your typical American food places, be it burgers, hot dogs or breakfast.

I did visit in 2018 and really enjoyed it, but always good getting local advice. Also, is it as bad as the media makes out with the homeless situation and stores closing because of continually getting robbed. When I was there I did see someone shooting up in the middle of the day, which was a little shocking, but never felt in any danger.

I've been keeping up with the news lately, and I can’t shake this feeling of dread about the state of the world. It just feels like tensions are at an all-time high, and it’s scary to think about what could happen if things spiral out of control. There’s so much uncertainty—talks of conflicts, alliances, and the constant updates about military buildups.

I know that history has seen tough times before, but with today’s technology and global reach, the idea of a large-scale war just feels... unimaginable, yet somehow possible. Is anyone else feeling this weight, or am I overthinking it? How do you all cope with these kinds of fears?

About my financial situation: no car, no debt, by myself, will have a AC transit pass through my job, and love to spend disposable income on food and wine.

Considering moving to this general area (my main criteria is I want to be walkable to 24th & dolores for company shuttle). I do currently have a car that I'm not quite ready to get rid of yet, so I'm wondering how easy street parking is in these neighborhoods/if there are certain streets or areas that are more difficult to find parking than others. Also how availability changes throughout the day, especially in the evenings on weekdays/weekends?

Moved to the east bay this August to go to Berkeley. Haven’t gotten a cut since. Looking for someone who’s good with scissor cuts. Price doesn’t matter and willing to go to SF. Emphasis on scissor work, I grew out my hair for a reason and would not want to go back to a taper or fade.

I do know for a fact the Nordstrom Rack location is officially closed, but I was wondering what the status is on the mall that was next door. I looked it up on google and it popped up as San Francisco Centre, so I was just wondering if it's still open for shopping?

Moving to SF from Boston. Going to be working 11p-730am as a nurse in Berkeley commuting from Cole valley. There’s a bunch of routes to get there but was just wondering anyone’s safety levels commuting to Berkeley at that time as a young woman. It’s my dream unit to work at and dream job just won’t have a car like I do in Boston and I wouldn’t often take the T in Boston to the city for my 11p shifts since it would rarely come by the station near me! I'm posting in hopes of hearing from people who've been in a similar boat to me. As of late, I've been struggling academically and personally, and for a while, I speculated that I could be neurodivergent. I've gone through many counselors and therapists, but many have fallen through due to having been in a transitional phase during that time. Now that I've found myself in a stable position, I'd like to get started so that I may, hopefully, find an answer to what I've been experiencing. I intend to get in contact with Medi-Cal this Monday to begin the process, but I was hoping to hear back from those who've gone through a similar process so that things may go smoothly this time around. Does anyone have a dermatologist in the city that they recommend that can help with deep acne scars from 15+ years ago? I was going to go to Arya because it was recommended but I heard alot of bad reviews on reddit about how they saw no results even with 6+ sessions and thousands of dollars.
