got my first one

So I just got my first zippo and filled it with their fluid but I'm running into an issue of it not lighting after a day or so unless I refill it. Is this a common thing or is mine just faulty

I decided i will just use all my zippos in rotation instead of keeping them boxed up... I mean thats what they are for right!?

This will be my on hand zippo for a few weeks

The spades on the case is just like a decal and started peeling up after about 3 years

Does anyone have an idea how to widen out the bottom part of a Zippo case (and only the bottom part)

I bought this Vietnam replica Zippo that was hammered inwards to look like it had much damage to it.

I am trying to fit in an original 1968 insert, but I just don't want to fit in the bottom of the case.

If anyone has any idea how to widen the bottom of the case out, then I would love to hear it!

Travelling in japan right now and bought myself a souvenir customized zippo. My airline's (cathay pacific) guidelines from their website says that they allow a single lighter on one's person, but I'm still a bit skeptical and nervous. The lighter itself is of course unfueled, should I remove the flint as well? I'd rather not because I'd have to buy a screwdriver. Would I need to show it through the xray portion after immigration and put it on the tray disassembled? If worse comes to worse, can I just toss out the insert and keep the case? And if so where does one buy a normal zippo insert, as I like them way better than the butane or arc inserts and I cant find them on the site or amazon (preferably amazon). Thanks a lot to those who respond and help.

I just bought a Zippo which I’ve got engraved (laser machine at key cutter). I was wondering if there’s any way to make the engraving darker?

Is there some sort of chemical process I can put it through to achieve this?

To clarify it’s a Venetian high polish chrome finish.

We're going to give something new a shot here. On the 1st of every month at 12:01 AM, Automod will post a new Megathread for users to post pictures and ask questions about the legitimacy of their lighters.

We're going to see if this cuts down on the posts of people asking if their plain lighters are legitimate.

Currently, we have no plans to automatically remove posts asking this question but we will address that if the Megathread doesn't cull the number on its own. That being said, I understand there may be some outliers that are worthy of their own post on occasion. We'll handle those as they come through.
