I have five colors now I wonder what color they will release next. First insert in second row is gold colored hard to tell in the picture.
My little brother gave me a zippo lighter as a birthday present. Didn't come with fuel so I got some butane lighter fluid from a smoke shop. The clerk said it was fine for my lighter. Turns out it's not. Put it in and it won't light; though it did successfully set the inside of the lid on fire so TECHNICALLY it works. I'm thinking of just buying a butane insert and getting rid of the original one, since I now have the fluid any, and I heard that butane is better anyway. That said, I was wondering if it's still okay to just put proper fluid in the now butane stained insert, and if not, how the heck do I safely dispose of the old insert? I'm not a big lighter person, so I'll understand if y'all take me for an idiot (which I am). Nonetheless, I would appreciate an answer. Thanks in advance y'all.
Got this 1935 replica in the mail today from zippo on amazon. When I first got it open it was fine and worked alright but 3 open and closes later it just loosened up and snapped, please help.
Picked this up at an antique store. Supposed to be pretty old. Any insights? All I can find online is a few sites in Vietnam selling them.
Does this look authentic?
Can someone confirm whether or not this zippo is a nickel silver zippo from the 40s like I believe it might be? I previously had one before, but did not realize that I did until after I had sold it. Just wanna make sure I don’t make the same mistake again. I’m not as educated on zippo’s as I am other Lighters so I am coming to you all hoping that you can tell me what I might have? P.S. I am also colorblind and I know you can tell from the color sometimes what the material might be, but I cannot unfortunately. Seriously any help would be greatly appreciated.
Picked this up at my local Walmart. Includes a street chrome lighter and a single torch insert. Pretty good deal!
What are the free gifts typically, should I be exited expecting an extra zippo or should I just be expecting some extra stickers
Finally zippo ireland has pull out there finger for Christmas. Just ordered a black insert just now €18.90. I don't gget the point in having a zippo ireland if everything is shipped from Germany ffs 13.80 on postage is a bitta joke and anyone from Ireland get online and order one before they gone
This is from zippos wedsite.
This lighter came from my grand grand father, my grandpa (his son) thinks is from the WW2 which had fought (not surprising because I have some coins from that time thanks always to my gran grand father).
I desire to know better details about it or if you can lend me a place where to look (Google lens is not my friend unluckily)
Hi all, I have 8 Zippo's that were taken from the luggage while flying from Australia to Europe via China. Is it possible to send them to Australia? Does anyone have experience like this?
Another repair, I am trying to do the o-rings in the Zippo Contempo Trim 1403(chrome louver), and had to stop removal for lack of specialty tool/screwdriver. I did the adjust valve/s, and on to the refill valve, but can't do anything else until I rig something or find the specialty screwdriver ( as drawn in the photo ). Anybody know where and what that tool is called and where to get one? The symptom this lighter has is not holding in butane at the refill valve.
my old account got banned
Hello, longtime Zippo owner and collector here. Recently started getting back into not only collecting Zippo lighters but also carrying them. From memory the thing I didn’t like about carrying a Zippo every day in the 90s was the lighter fluid leakage and legs burns, as well as how frequently the fuel needs to be refilled. As such, I’ve been purchasing the butane inserts which are more stable and last longer. I was wondering if anyone knows of a butane insert available on the market that will replicate the same “out the top” zippo yellow flame but is not specifically a pipe version where the flame comes out the side. I have one of those and it’s cool, but I’d really like to find one that has a yellow butane flame from the top of the lighter, without having to hold down a button and not a blue torch flame. Basically the same traditional Zippo flame but a butane version. Any assistance appreciated, thanks!
It’s a 70’s insert I want to fix, the cam doesn’t look straight and the zippo doesn’t click when opened.
Does anyone know where to find a zippo with smokey the bear on it. What would be a good price to pay for one as well?
I tagged in red the credit for this. Interesting data with parts references numbers.
Not sure if this has been posted before or not. If I find that it has, I will delete this.
Enjoy!
Hi there! I'm having the hardest time finding a brass 90s hard rock zippo from the San Antonio location that is in decent condition. Does anyone have one in their collection they'd be willing to part with?
Hello all.
Recently got into the world of EDC and picked up a nice matte black zippo as a lighter. Have some attachment to the brand in general as I have fond memories of my dad when I was a kid always using one. Unfortunately, in my late night deep dive into the lighters themselves, I've learned a couple of things and was wondering if anyone had any experiences/helpful advice for a noobie!
Read that the original fuel insert doesn't last long with the fuel evaporating. I know nothing will ever compare to the original insert but to actually put it to use for what I want, I've read that the butane inserts go much longer. Prob will look into buying the soft flame butane insert for EDC purposes.
Read though that the butane inserts (even the Zippo ones) can be finicky and stop working and need all sorts of "repairs" which sound like a lot of maintenance. I'm looking for this thing to be relatively "set it and forget it." Is this a fever dream? :(
This is probably a very stupid question but I don't have to worry about keeping it in my bag right? As in.. it won't somehow spontaneously combust and engulf my tech bag in flames? :')
Thank you for any help in advance!!!
