Haul and question

I’m fairly new to pipe smoking but definitely have some miles with cigars. I typically like full bodied cigars. So due to my cigar knowledge I grabbed the Davidoff and a house blend. How’d I do? Any other recommendations for a new smoker?

Should I worry about Abestos in estate pipes?

I bought a briar wood Myon estate pipe not too long ago. I can't pinpoint how old it is. Still, I figured I should ask just in case.

How worried should I be when it comes to old pipes like this?

Anybody use these?

Clipper lighters are a lighter, a tamper (bottom) and a poker (removable flint). Cheap, refillable, and I have a ton of them.

Advice on G&H "burnt ends" from SmokingPipes

Looking for advice from folks that have unlocked the secret to prepping burnt ends. I scored some for my favorite blend (Louisiana Flake) but haven't figured out how to get a successful burn. I've tried crosscutting into something like a cube cut and kind of shaving it vertically but still have a heck of a time keeping lit. Giving the cutting a long dry time helps with the burn, but seems like I'm losing a lot of the flavoring.

HH Latakia and some rain

I'm really loving this blend. Got it as a gift this past Christmas. It's dated 2018 and wow! Blown away. Most of my latakia experience has not been stoved or flaked. Really cool and delicious.

Who already ordered Rivertown?

I'm thinking I'm going to order Custard, Oak and Ember, and 70% on my next order.

Because it's bulk of feel good about ordered 2oz each and giving them a try... I'm just betting some of you maniacs ordered in the first 5 min after launch hahaha!

What a treat 👌🏻

Rather new to pipe smoking besides what I did in my late teens and early 20's. Jumping back into it after watching alot of pipers on YouTube. Utilizing what I learned from Muttnchop and the breathe method and what an absolute game changer. Getting full flavor while keeping the tobacco cool. In love with this hobby again

Smoking Latakia/English/strong smelling blends in "public"

There are smoking cafes or other public places where you can smoke. I've never smoked within a sniffing distance to strangers.

For those who have smoked strong smelling blends like English where strangers (preferably other smokers) can smell it, what were their reactions?

Recently acquired: Rise & Shine and After Dinner from J.B. Vinche

First post in this sub, hello everyone! As a fledgling pipe smoker from Portugal, there is, unfortunately, a very limited choice of pipe tobacco available for purchase here.

As my partner recently travelled to Belgium, I kindly asked for these tins - they are Rise & Shine - a very light and balanced blend; and After Dinner, a sweet well-bodied blend that's almost liquor smelling.

Some of you will recognize these as the Belgian version of Peterson's Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap, respectively. I cannot wait to try them!

Broke out the calabash this morning for a bowl of Cowboy coffee. I always look forward to the Saturday morning smoke and coffee.

6 yr old GLP Embarcadero

I've been sampling this over the years. I do not like it fresh, but it's a really solid smoke with aone age. Va forward with some orientals to change it up a bit.

Package Forwarding Services

Hi, in light of the STG buyout of Mac Baren and Sutliff, I've gone a bit crazy (for me at least) and ordered about 20 pound bags of Mac Baren. In order to support businesses instead of paying the 56% excise tax of my home state, I opted to use a package forwarding service and will be picking my order up 3 hours away at my neighboring state.

My question is, since my billing address is in the high tax state, will this order still be reported to that state's revenue department, or will the taxes be null since the pickup location is in a different state?

Crazy times require crazy decisions, I guess. Thanks for reading.
