Absolutely love the finish and very pleasant smoking experience! The stem is vulcanite (was already oxidizing when I bought it) so decided to really experiment and bring out the oxidation around the lower portion, then clean away the rest near the mouth area, really loved how it turned out!

Kind of last minute, but thinking of running to Boswells tomorrow. I see they have 2 locations…any big difference to choose one over the other? The Alexandria one is 2 hr and Chambersburg is like 2h20m so leaning Alexandria, but wasn’t sure if one was cooler to hang and smoke a little in. Just planning on grabbing bulk blends most likely, so selection not a big deal. Thanks!

I give the tongue touch test to every new meerschaum I get right now. After spending good money on a new meer, there’s something satisfying in that moment of: “Yep, this is block!”

Now that I've only smoked 2 bowls I notice that I've purchased 8 different blends so far to try a bunch of things.

I was thinking about blending vanilla custard into something to make it more flavored but I'm wondering if blending it full batch is the way or if people actually just grab a pinch of this and pinch of that and blend one bowl at a time.

You know when you want the wonderful aroma but you don't wanna chill out in the cold for 45mins?

I bought some Autumn Evening, Lane 1-Q since these you can buy in bulk and a bit less expensive. 

The Mac Baren ones should be verry good, but I would try them out over time when my tins only tobacco on hand are finished. Like Mac Baren Vanilla Cream, Vanilla Roll Cake, etc. I will try them in due time. 

So, Autumn evening is surely a pleasant smoke but probably not much nicotine, so I don't feel much in that aspect. I probably won't be buying more of it. 

Lane 1-Q is better in my opinion in that its aroma is good, I like the vanilla taste, and it has decent amount of nicotine it seems. I can see myself buying more of it. 

Will try out the Mac Baren ones soon when I finish some of my tins on hand.

Got an estate Dunhill Shell 4202, born the same year as me! Going to smoke a little aged 901 St James (now Ken Byron Ventures) Rarest Brimstone

This body style is unknown. No one knows who made them or when. www.smokingmetal.co.uk referes to these body's as MST 20. (Smoking metal is the hands down best reference for old radiator pipes there is.) I have bought two other of these pipes and they both had old Bryson bowls on them so it's possible this body was made sometime in the 50's. I thought this Comet bowl looked really good with this body. Almost a space age look.. This is a great pipe for a quick smoke. Lasts 15 minutes to a half hour depending on what you are smoking.

One of my favourite things about the days getting shorter is that I can use my little lantern more while I'm out on the balcony. Currently enjoying some Germain's Original Latakia Mixture in my no name, pear tomahawk

I totally fell for the marketing of cascade downwind. It’s not bad but very indistinguishable to my palate. Very forgettable.
