Inherited this Colibri lighter. I believe it's from either the 1980s or early 90s. Any help with IDing? I looked at a lot of websites, but most were more modern Colibri lighters, nothing like this one.
Thank you!
Going through a deceased relatives things and found this Colibri lighter, probably from the 1980s or early 1990s (I think).
Any ideas?
This was my dad's from the early 1960s when he was stationed in the Dominican Republic. Not sure what 523 means. The hinge is very loose and I don't know if it would work if there was fuel. Is there somewhere I can send this to have it repaired?
Hey, im considering buying these 2 rowenta roller lighters, but their are not workning im not sure why - now to my question are they easy to fix?
since they look similar to a dunhill roller lighter can you use their repair kit?
First of all I wanna preface this post with this: this isn’t a hate post condoning new collectors from asking questions, this is a post condoning the asking of the same questions over and over and over. Ever since I joined this subreddit the only posts I ever see recommended on here are “how do I fill this lighter/what fuel does this take?” Along with some others
I feel like the subreddit specifically designed for collectors collecting lighters should have some sort of resource for new collectors with FAQ’s, hell, most other hobby subreddits do, usually there is a pinned post at the top with FAQ’s, why don’t we have that? It would avoid the recommended from filling up with lost souls, and the funny part is the lost souls who specifically ask these questions, oftentimes never get a reply, and I suspect it’s because I’m not the only one getting sick of it. A pinned FAQ post would not only fix the problem of this subreddit filling up with the same post over and over, but also provide a clear and precise answer to those FAQ’s that never get answered.
Explain in the pinned post the difference between butane and liquid fluid, explain how wicks and cotton works and how to replace a flint and how to maintain a lighter and clean a lighter and provide resources for additional information and supplies, explain it like your explaining to someone who has no prior knowledge about antique lighters, and have people put it together who know what they’re talking about, because truth is I’m not gonna act like I know everything, and truth is there are plenty of people here who act as if they do, which is just another issue an FAQ post would fix
I don’t have a problem with asking questions, and I don’t think the post has got to provide an answer to everything, many styles and types of lighters were made and there will always be exceptions, that’s what the sub is for, hell, I’ve asked a few questions here myself, but if 95% percent of posts answers could be lumped into a FAQ post, then I see them as redundant. Can we please please please have a pinned post? This subreddit is getting real dry
no refill hole on the bottom, very annoying
I tried regular zippo butane but it doesn’t seem to work. I got it to work for a second but the flame was massive. Any ideas? Also it sparks every time so that’s out of the question.
I'm New to the lighter game and I'm looking for a lighter with some History that look cool, something not too expensive (50-80€) ? Anyone could give me info ?
Hi everybody. I apologize if this is the wrong reddit to post to about this as its not distinctly related to lighters...but, ive got a very stressing issue, and ive been combing the internet and god dammit, you'd think i was the first person to ever have a leaking can of butane because i cant find ANYTHING. so this is a last resort (sorry). my can of butane was working just fine, until it got to about half way full. First it started spraying everywhere when id fill any of my lighters, like A LOT. And then after a few more refills it started straight up LEAKING. Its hissing, like a lighter would. But its the freaking can of butane. It leaks liquid butane when i turn it upside down. It did this once before but it stopped after a minute. But now its not stopping. Intuition tells me that its canned (no pun intended) but i just wanted to make sure before letting it leak out outside and just throwing it away. Its got a good quarter of a can left! And before you tell me to go buy an new one, im not mobile whats so ever right now. And YES im holding a finger over the spigot as we speak. Please help :(
I’ve got this Ronson Princess. Would any old average zippo wick and flint fit in this thing, or would i need to get a specific brand/size. I see a lot of supplies are sold at my local tobacco store, just not sure what I need.
Hi there!! Currently got this light for my dad and I need help either identifying it, or troubleshooting it! Currently I know its butane, but I can seem to find out if it uses flint or not. Currently it has a spark when I click it, but even with butane in it it won't light! Any help would be wonderful.
It was sold among other official Guinness stuff and it seems empty (only produce a spark but no flame) and the inner part seems stuck. Should I force it ? Its not that expensive but it's infuriating to bought branded shit that doesn't seems to work.
This is my Kreisler lighter from west Germany with an amazing story, I don’t know what year this one is but my guess is from 30’s to 50’s. My parents actually bought this lighter for me at an antique store in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, they didn’t know there was a picture slot on the lighter so we were all amazed when I opened it and say this picture of a family. This lighter does not work right now and I am going to restore it but it is missing a top screw long which is unfortunate and I don’t know where I’m going to get one of those. But I wanted to share this amazing lighter regardless!
From what year is it possibly? Bought at an antique market in Holland. No markings or anything. Almost full brass
