Do you store them in the cellophane or not? I’ve been keeping them in but, does it matter?
Hello fellow cigar enjoyers! I’m planning out the special occasion cigars I plan on smoking. For my birthday on December 6 i plan to smoke a padron 1964, an opus X lost city for the new year. I need recommendations for thanks giving and Christmas eve. Cigars worthy of the occasion. I live in the Dominican Republic so unless it’s something ultra rare, I can get my hands on anything really.
New to the cigar world and I’m wondering if any of the popular websites do Black Friday deals
I’m just getting into cigars and I have a 65% size 60 Boveda pack in here with around 10 cigars but the humidity never gets any lower than 69%.
I do live in S. Florida and we keep the house around 73 degrees.
Always been a special occasion cigar smoker but had my first Padron the other day and here we are! Any recommendations on storage? I bought a padded humidor for my golf bag and currently have a 69% boveda in it. Is seasoning the humidor necessary if I’m just going to put a boveda in there?
I stuck a 60g 72% boveda in my humidor for the hotter months and it stayed right around 68% but now the rh of the humidor is reading at 72% and I want to crank it down for the cooler months so I picked up a 65rh 60 gram pack. My question is, can I just replace the 72 with the 65 without fear of anything like cracking or other deleterious effects?
Hello, first time I post here
I recently smoke this cigar, the woman who sold It told me It tasted like earth and chocolate.
I did some research and It looks like this line of cigars Is called arturo fuente gran reserva flor fina 858, and the internet says It tastes like earth and leather
Now, I suck at remembering things + I was drunk when i smoked It so I don't remember what It tasted like, only that I liked it
So yeah I don't know if she lied or what
My question Is, did she lie or is research was wrong?
Picked up one of these bad boys last week and I let it sit in humidor for a few days. Not bad for $22 cigar but boxes are $$$. Notes of chocolate and oats. Also, had my first drink 🥃 in about two weeks and still feeling the effects of it…
Hi everyone. Never been a smoker, but recently gave up alcohol and started working out, so decided to balance out the health with a little vice :). Treated myself to a little post lunch AF Hemingway short story with an espresso. This is growing on me.
New smoker here. Randomly smoked a stick of this in a lounge and then knew immediately that I needed more.
Bought a couple boxes of Plasencia Alma Fuerte green bands (the natural colorado claros), and dated march & april 2024. These are some of my favorite sticks but this years crop I noticed tastes significantly different to the prior years.
I havent experienced this significant of a difference of the same blend changing just due to yearly variance in the crop. It has the same core essence but I notice its much more woody and less mineraly than the previous years profiles.
Has anyone experienced this with Plasencia or something similar with other brands? Obviously its an organic product, these things happen, but Ive smoked a ton of sticks and havent experienced this degree of inconsistency before with other marcas. But even in spite of that, Plasencia is still better lol I was just really hoping for the mineral earthy bombs I got in prior years and less wood
Hi all, I don't know much about the cigars, just tried one a couple weeks ago. I just want to enjoy the cigar like others do as seen in this sub. Any guide/help is appreciated. Also, how do you spot the fake cigars from originals? My friend did got one but it didn't have any label on it, and all I got was pure tobacco taste, no flavour. I was also hesitant to try because of no inhale rule, was afraid the whole time what if I inhale by accident? All i did was puff the smoke out real quick. I'm not getting much help from YT or google either.
I don’t have much knowledge so I just buy one or two cigars from local b&m’s and I’m currently waiting on a few sticks!!
Jaime Garcia Sucesor Sumatra. Local b&m pickup. Have the Habano to try next and one of each to age for a bit. Enjoyed it a lot. Flavorful, great construction, even burn and just all around nice. Paired with a solid pour of Blantons. This one is for Ben. Rest easy good boy.
First humidor here - I’ve read that you want to keep your humidor 70 degrees Fahrenheit/ 70% RH, but have also heard of some folks even going as low as 65%-69%. What would y’all say would be best if I’m trying to age my sticks, say 6+ months? 🤔
Hi all. New here and thought I’d ask this question in hopes there’s someone with the knowledge. When it comes to cigars being “fresh” does aging them for awhile remove the pepper sinus sting from the retrohale? I had a cigar I absolute love all the notes I’m getting but the peppery sting on the retro. Will aging solve this? If so, any insight on how long it generally takes to see some sort of change?
Love a cigar after work. I don't mind smoking in the cold (I live in Chicago) but my fingers get downright frosty by the time I'm done. Does anyone have gloves that they smoke with that don't reek after? I had some nice leather driving gloves that I tried last winter but they didn't fare as well as I had wanted.
So happy it was warm enough to light a fire and enjoy a cigar.
Man did I enjoy this one. First third was just so good. Long slow finish, a SWEET melody of notes that were so balanced and just coated my mouth in the best way. Nutty fruity earthy sour cedar. Very little spice or pepper. Second third brought some mild spice. Final third brought strength up to medium. Flavor much darker, sweetness gone. Good enough to nub.
Flavor reminded me of the Brick House I had a week or so ago, but much smoother, better balanced. Better tobacco flavor too.
I just opened my tupperdore after 2 weeks in 62 boveda packs and some cigars have the wrappers cracked nothing major but why has this happened i changed the boveda to 65% thiught maybe its not enough humidity
