So I'm not exactly up walking around a ton, I drive a car hauler(single or double) i am in and out of it frequently but I don't do a lot of standing or walking for hours at a time. That being said I am pretty overweight and have flat feet. I need something light weight because I'm climbing around the back of a car hauler a lot and doing that in heavy steel toes sucks but I need something with decent ankle support and preferably a lot of cushion and foot support that will last me a while. I usually wear Hoka sneakers but all of the climbing tears them up faster than just walking around like when I used to work warehouse. Anyone have any recommendations?
If so, how are they holding up? I'm looking to get these Timberland pro whitman boots for heavy use. Seems like good beaters. Thanks in advance.
Hey all, i've done a bunch of comparing and checking and finally 'decided' on a 6 inch, Thorogood Moc-toe in Midnight black as the boot i wanted, before then realising that it's basically impossible to get one.
I'm based in the UK which already makes it harder. I guess if i cant get exactly that does anyone have recommendations on similarly long-lasting but similar design to the above? Any advice would be massively appreciated.
Cheers!

Sup y'all. I need recommendations for an alternative to the doc martens steel toe oxford. I've had two pairs so far, they have lasted 6+ years of daily use (welding/forging) but are now discontinued. Price be damned, composite toe preferred. The Carolina shoe I bought to replace went straight to thrift(CA1520). Who makes a decent oxford safety toe?
I’m looking at getting a good quality boot for $300 or less for work. Any suggestions appreciated
The criteria’s I’m looking for in the boot are listed below. (I don’t need something warm)
-Keep my socks dry in pouring rain (Breathable Waterproof) -Decent for walking up and down mountains/hilly terrain, I walk around 1-3 miles a day. -Quality long lasting durable boot, for the money I want to spend -Decent for walking in/on slippery conditions (mainly packed down snow) -Decent walking on loose gravel -Mainly Leather
As the title says, I am a commercial plumber. I am on my feet about 10 hours 4 days a week, minimum. I need slip resist boots, safety toe. Abrasion resist would be good. I need waterproof, either some membrane or the ability to be made waterproof. 8" would be good. I would like a tough soul, being that I walk on a lot of rock/asphalt/concrete. Doesn't have to be steel toe, but does need safety toe. I do have a size 12 US men's foot, and I need at least EE, probably EEE. I need a lug sole due to ladder use quite often.
Boots I have tried:
Thanks for the input and advice if/when given. I tend to beat the hell out of my boots, I do a bunch of walking, and kicking crap with my boot toes. Price is not super important for me, I just don't want to drop a lot on boots that won't do the job or won't last more than a few months.
I have really been struggling with what kind of boots to buy next... I bought Keen Portland 6" last year and they have really been killing my feet. I've been putting up with the pain now for a while but it's gotten to the point where my feet hurt for days after I tale off my boots.
I never knew I had high arches before buying these and it's something that other shoes don't hurt. They also make my toes feel trapped despite being a size longer than my feet...
I need boots that are safety toe, have good slip resistance, and are waterproof. Puncture resistance would be nice too but isn't required, I watch where I step.
I really want something with the BOA lace system because that would be easier on my back.
I've been looking at the Redwing Traction Ted Lite with BOA and the Timberland Pro Magnitude 8" but after I dig deeper into reviews, people tend to mention that Timberlands aren't good for hight arches.
Anybody have experience for the redwings and if they are worth it for toe room and arch support?
Went to Tractor Supply last week on my lunch break to buy a new pair of pants bc I ripped mine and thought I'd snap a pic of my loggers
I am a camera operator and will be working on a solar farm construction site in a few weeks. We were notified that we have to wear boots with safety toes. I asked them to clarify what type of toe, whether it be steel composite or something else. They take forever to respond, and I want to buy boots this weekend so I have enough time to break them in. Any recommendations on what type of toes to get?
I have wore thorogoods for my last 2 pair. I work in a power plant and it seemed like my thorogood wedge soles were wearing faster than i would like. With my new boot voucher i tried on these 8” carolina wedge boots and i must say they seem pretty comfortable right out of the box. I went back and forth with the decision. It was tough not to buy more thorogoods and i felt like i was cheating but i think i will end up liking these boots as long as the sole lasts. These seem like they are made of thicker leather also. Anyone have any experience with these?
I work in construction on Heavy Equipment and need a good boot that's comfortable and good in things like muddy terrain
A little heavy but comfortable
I have leather lined boots that get wet fairly often, how often should I condition them as to upkeep water resistance, but not over condition them and ruin the leather. Also what do you guys use to condition/provide water resistance? For context I do surveying in michigan and have jim green razorbacks. I custom ordered some AR8s in roughout; so I want to do my best to make them last a long time. Thanks!
Wanted to get some suggestions on a good shock absorbing insole that would go well with this boot I'd found. I'm not dead set on this boot, I'm open to other options if there are better options. Would prefer to be within the same price range (+/- $40).
Some info to keep in mind
The boot I'd choose after doing a little reading up and research is the following.

I’ve been wearing The Brunt Ohman comp toe for the past month. these are by far the most comfortable boot I’ve worn in the job in a long time.
What is the recommendation for a non insulated, comp toe, waterproof boot with a toe cap.
I do commercial hvac and residential on the side. We’re talking burning rooftops, kneeling, walking, standing water, ladders and extreme heat.
$300-400 range and comfort would help as I’m a fat fat fatty and walk/ climb all day.
Looking for that combination. Can seem to find it on a Google search. Seems water proof is always insulated. My feet and work environment would benefit from water proof non insulated.
All i could find is some red wing hunting boots, but they don’t specify non insulated, just water proof. Also, I’m not sure how they would hold up as work boots.
Anyone have any insight? Do these exist?
Looking for the widest composite toe 6 inch boot out there. I'm currently wearing red wing king toe in 4h and still rubbing a bit.
brand new matterhorn maximus 2.0. i'm feeling a bit like marcus fenix, but so far they're comfortable, lighter than expected, the internal metguard and the rubber toe cap make them look really clompy, but they at least feel pretty protective. like, maybe i could kick down a wood door, lol.
they are a bit stiff, solewise, but they're otherwise pretty comfy.
I am a trucker and I deliver fuel, sometimes I am on slippery surfaces and my boots are in contact with the same fuel, any suggestions for boots?
Anyone recommend what specific duradero model they have and how they fit?
Hands down best quality and looks on any jobsite.

Looking for recommendations regarding cowboys style work boots that aren't steel or composite toe currently on my 2nd pair of Ariat Workhog H2O boots and i like them comfortable after the break in but I'm only getting roughly a year out of them. Would like yalls suggestions and real world experiences. I work on concrete all day the soles hold up ok it's the stitching that wears out faster
