A place to post pictures of awesome, unique, and beautiful trains.
PLEASE include the image resolution in your submission title. The resolution should be in brackets, like so: [1920x1080].
Hi-res pictures are preferred, but not required. The higher, the better. It's much nicer to crop an image rather than to stretch it out. Any/all resolutions are allowed.
The following domains are "reliable" and should be linked to directly:
PLEASE LINK DIRECTLY TO THE IMAGE FILE
If you think a domain not listed here is "reliable" (allows direct linking) and would like to see it added to the list, please message the mods with the domain name and an explanation.
If the image is from another source, especially anything with "wallpaper" or "blog" in the domain name, please rehost the image with imgur or min.us, but link to the original file in the comments, if possible.
Requests are allowed, but only if they are a self.post, and [Request] is the first thing in the submission title. Any requests that do not follow this format will be removed.

Happy Friday Everyone! My video this week is now up, which is my second and last Director's cut of the season, Welcome Back 18! New York's Only Operational Steam Train (Director's Cut 2024) (4K). This past fall Arcade & Attica 18 returned after a 7 year rebuild. Over the course of a few weekends, I combined my footage of 18 in chronological order from this past fall. Join my trackside of the best shots I got this fall of 18's trek from Arcade to Currier's & Return. Enjoy!
In the video, you can see a VL80 train. The VL80 (ВЛ80) is a Soviet built electric AC mainline freight locomotive. The VL80 is a dual-section (or articulated) locomotive composed of two identical units, each resting on two two-axle bogies, powered by eight НБ-418К6 (en: NB-4186K6) electric tractive motors equipped with axle-support suspension. In order to pick up the current from overhead lines, the VL80 is fitted with two pantographs; one above the driver's cab on each section. Similarly, each section of the locomotive is equipped with one ОДЦЭ-5000/25Б (en: ODCE-5000/25B) tractive transformer. The VL80T and ВЛ80С (en: VL80S) models are furnished with dynamic brakes. Information from Wikipedia.
P.S. This is my first post on Reddit, so I hope I did everything right. :)
