Hello, I am a student of a Metropheroran Systems Maintenance course. In the next semester I will participate in an undergraduate project of the course.
But me and my group are still undecided on which topic and what kind of problem to solve. In a way it is mandatory that the project involves mechanical and electronic, and is not so expensive to develop. Can anyone help me with ideas?
The plush is finally here! (From the Railroad Museum of New England)
I'm going to be travelling to switzerland later this year and I was looking at options for rail passes while there. I'm between the SBB Swiss Travel pass, which I know is valid on the Giruno trains into Italy and the Interrail One-Country Pass for switzerland - I'd be inclined to get the latter as it's cheaper but I can't find any information as to whether its valid on a trip across the border into Italy (Milan specifically) so any help would be appreciated!

Maybe it’s where I live (NS mainline from DC-ATL) but I used to see other railways engines, UP and BNSF especially on trains a lot but I have only seen it happen one time in the last year. Is this becoming less common everywhere or just here?
So happy with how this turned out. I have wanted a snow picture for a while
Trying to honor my grandfather by adding his locomotive to my train layout only photo we have of him in front of his engine from the day. He retired.
The vast majority seem to be 3, 5, or 6 chimes, and I know that the Great Northern had 7 chime whistles and I believe so did the Illinois Central at one point, but did any have 8 or 9 chime whistles?
And before anyone asks, I did Google it, but Google is unhelpful.
Edit: The highest I've found so far is Casey Jones's engine on the IC used a 8 chime whistle.
