Planning to try and experience all that Europapark has over two days in the park in September. Are there things that only happen during weekends or is a mid week trip fine to experience everything the park has to offer? And also for those that have gone is 2 full days enough to see it all? Tips and advice are greatly appreciated.
It's going to be quite funny to compare this parks theming to Busch gardens Williamsburg having been there before.
I have a memory from my childhood of an old attraction that I've never been able to find the name for.
It wasn't a ride but rather more akin to a playground with some slight sense of objective. It was inside a two story building and the play centered around light plastic balls, like the ones you would find in ball pits.
The second story was mostly open with an inward-facing balcony that wrapped all the way around. I think there were some tables that parents could sit at, and maybe they served food there? The main attraction was a large set piece (I remember as a cartoonish flying ship) that hung in the center of the open space that the balcony surrounded. Mounted along the balcony were several guns you could use to fire the light plastic balls at various targets across the center set piece.
On the lower level you could collect the balls that fell to the ground and place them in containers along the edges where a continuously running elevator belt would carry the balls up to the second level one by one.
In my mind I think of this being at Disney World (Orlando) around 2001, but in that same trip we also visited Sea World, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure. There's also a chance that it was at either Dollywood or Carowinds, which would explain why I've had such trouble finding any record of it.
Does anyone else remember this or know what it was called? I'm beginning to think it was just a really fun dream I had as a kid😅
Edit: Thanks everyone, planning a long weekend to Energylandia in a couple weeks now!
I made an application to help with on-the-go guidance across any theme park you visit. Harnessing the power of AI and machine learning, it assists you in making optimal decisions for your day. And today is launch day on Product Hunt!
This post is created mainly to see if anyone here would be interested in this application - and if so, how could I make it better?

Is there a remedyyy?🫶🏽
So I’ve loved rides at funfairs and theme parks for as long as I can remember 😁
Got an invite to a local theme park and I’m so exciteddd but a few months ago I went on a ride, the waltzers, at a funfair and they went as fast as ever and left me dizzy for a good 24 hours after🤢
Now when I think about going to this theme park at the weekend, I just get waves of nausea and feel how I did when I got off those waltzers😩
I know this is purely mental as in all in my head but how do I get rid of this? I love rides and I hope this isn’t the end of an era😭
I'm wanting to know cause I'm thinking about making on
Believe it or not, this isn’t about a family vacation (yet), just idle curiosity about something I saw in a comic book. It’s a plot point that the main character, an altogether normal human, made it from the middle of a Disneyland equivalent to a museum (not a novelty one - one high-end enough to exhibit actual medieval regalia) and back in ~40 minutes. How exactly he made it isn’t shown, but presumably train and taxi were both on the table.
Obviously, since both locations are fictional the author can do whatever he wants, but I’m curious to know if any bigtime theme parks in real life are actually built that close to a museum (since the latter probably wouldn’t want to put up with noise from the former). A casual Googling tells me, for instance, that the Louvre is at least 40 minutes from Disneyland Paris even with the luckiest train boarding possible.
Can any longtime parkgoers - not just the Disneys, but stuff like Six Flags as well - weigh in?
Hi, I'm planning a trip to Universal Studios Singapore but can't find a calender with the attractions that are open or closed. Someone that can help me around here?
About 2 years ago, I went to Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA to play, and record on my camera, my gameplay regarding the Deal or No Deal arcade game at the Playland arcade attraction.
Unfortunately, while I was videotaping, I was shown a sign by an employee that was on the ceiling which I did not see that said ‘No videotaping of this game allowed’. They would not give out the reason why when I asked them, but they did say I can record gameplay of other games, just not the D.O.N.D. game.
I think the policy they have regarding this game is really stupid, and I would love to know why they have that in place. Is it because of copyright concerns or something?
Don’t ask me to call Knoebels because they will not tell me why no matter how many times I ask them.
Disney making that progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Can’t wait to ride it 😆
This is something I would love to go to and I think the absolute closest thing available would be Epic Universe’s Universal Monsters land.
A lot of the classic monsters are in public domain now so IP wouldn’t really be a problem if a company decided to unveil a park in the same vein.
Hi all,
I've seen this question before, but mostly from a few years ago, and thus predating Wildcat's Revenge.
I'm travelling from the UK solo to visit New York and the surrounding area in July, and have a spare weekday to visit either Hersheypark or SF:GA. I'm looking for opinions as to which I should do. Wildcat's Revenge is a relevant consideration, as having ridden Iron Ghazi and Untamed, I do enjoy the RMC coasters. Also as a personal consideration, I'm not a huge fan of drop towers. Any thoughts appreciated.
As the title says, I am looking for opening day / opening ceremony Theme park photos from around the world and while of course a search can bring up some, you would be surprised to learn that getting good opening day / opening ceremony photos is very hard. Like try and find photos of Islands of Adventure opening day anything and you will be hard to find anything other than a few aerial shots, and a handful of potato quality images lifted from a poor VHS recordings. I am more than a little surprised as I would have thought these companies would have history pages full of high quality photos free to use as it promotes them.
The photos are for an area in my VR Theme Park that celebrates Theme Parks. Any photo I use will come with lifetime access to the park and I will be sure credit you. If you read this even years after I post, please do still reach out or message me at immersive.matthew@Metaverse-Adventures.com. The Theme Park can be found here.
Universal Japan Opening Day (best I could find)
Universal Studios Florida Theme Park Opening Day
Dinseyland Paris Opening Day (one of the better quality opening day photos)
What are the best theme parks for Adults? I am looking at Universal, Disney and Bush Gardens. Which Disney park is best if you could only go to one? I have not been to Bush Gardens.
Just wondering where people would think is the best place to visit in Europe for theme parks. Looking for a combination of amount of theme parks and quality of theme parks, similar to how Florida has so many world class parks in a small area.
First places that come to mind would be France/Belgium or maybe Germany but interested to hear peoples thoughts.
i’m just figuring out about all the disney parks in orlando and im shocked these parks look like heaven and magic i want to go so bad can someone tell me which parks are the best there’s epcot and magic kingdom and animal kingdom and universal and sea world and busch gardens what’s the difference??
I will be going to Universal Orlando next month and am debating going on Velocicoaster. I don’t want to get in over my head but I also don’t want to miss out. I have been on rocknroller coaster and Everest and have enjoyed those. I have also been on bigger rides at parks like Cedar Point and Six Flags. Any recommendations?
I think this land would be great in the UK as horror is huge here and the whole of Europe in general.
Someone please help me. What is the theme park that is inspired by different cultures. They have different food stations to try from those particular countries around the park? I want to say it is in Japan, but I can't remember. It's almost like a market.
EDIT/ I found it! It’s called Global Village. Has anyone ever been? How was it? It’s made my bucket list
I want to start by saying im not announcing an opening of a park but believe me I wish I was instead im putting me and my families dream park out there but before that I want to give you some backstory
Me and my family just recently took a vacation to Orlando it was probably the best vacation ever, and while some go to parks all the time we unfortunately don't have that option we're basically broke goat owners in North Carolina but to honest wouldn't trade it (except a little more money would be nice) but im saying all of this because for 1 im fascinated by theme parks I just have a interest in them and as i'll become older I want to grow closer to them (also gonna note im 18 heading off to college in a few months so don't think im like some 37 year old) anyways as we ventured through the parks I noticed their interests and favorites and I've conducted what would be our dream park and I just want to share it so feel free to comment any suggestions and if you would visit or not down below but lets all try to be respectful this is all for fun
Im pitching "Lake Cryptid" a cryptid themed park and I think the best location would be Seattle since no parks exist in the pacific Northwest minus like Wildwaves but this will hopefully blow it out of the water the park would open as part of a resort with a water park called "Cryptid Beach" and a hotel called "Journeys Rest Resort" with the themes being at Lake Cryptid your searching for cryptid creatures and bigfoot will serve as the parks mascot the same premise will be at Cryptid Beach however the mascot will be the Kraken, and thats why I chose Seattle their 2 biggest creatures fit mascot criteria perfect and the Journeys Rest Resort will be a place for you to relax on your journey to find the creatures but enough of the resort lets dive into the park
you'll enter and be greeted by a huge arena facing the lake (think like Seaworlds arena that hosts concerts) here will be where the night time spectacular will take place (a light based boat stunt show with drones) but you'll also have to choose left or right if you go right you'll enter Lake Lochness where you'll have few things to do but lets start big with "Lake Lochness Tours" a boat dark ride that will have you searching for the Lochness monster kinda like the old Jaws ride in this land you can also see live bagpipe performances as they walk around, a quick service scottish restaraunt and a gift shop themed to the Lochness monster that you'll enter after you ride "Lake Lochness Tours" after your fun in Lake Lochness you've got another Cryptid to catch the Yeti so you enter the Himalayas with a few things to do with its marquee attraction "Mission Yeti" a ride similar to Kong at Islands of Adventure where you tour the Himalayas in search for the Yeti, in this land you can climb Mt. Everest with "Mt. Everest Rock Climbing" you can also try Himalayan frozen treats at a ice cream venue after your crazy Himalayan adventure you'll enter "Camp Bigfoot" a land thats designed to be a camp with people looking for Bigfoot here you can meet bigfoot and even get a picture with him, you can go to the "Bigfoot Forest Playground" which will be a playground themed to the forest and nature you can ride a few things here such as "Bigfoot Bounty" a zamperla powered coaster for little kids, "Bigfoot Lookout" a dumbo style ride where you ride in a plane and look for bigfoot in the sky, "Cryptid Carousel" a carousel but with mysterious creatures, "Darrells Doom Drop" a kiddie drop tower, and the lands main ride "Sasquatch Express" a train ride that has you hunting for Bigfoot as you travel around the park in this land you can enjoy "Campfire Sweets" a camp inspired sweet shop and a gift shop for the land (almost forgot you'll take a picture in a giant footprint with Bigfoot in the background) as you leave you'll enter Virginia in search for the Moth Man in this land you'll have a dark ride called "Attack of Moth Man" inspired by the woman who was "Chased" by Moth Man in her car in this version you really will be chased by Moth Man in your car, here will have the parks premiere restaurant "Down South Grill" a southern inspired restaurant which fits perfectly in the Virginia mountains also in this land the iconic moth man statue will be recreated and of course a gift shop but thats not all a mini section will be Virginia Beach which will be tropical and will be home to the "Dolphins of Tomorrow" show an educational show that has cool tricks with real Dolphins to give the people of the Northwest a cool experience they don't get unless they drive hours south and don't worry all Dolphins will be rescues who wouldn't be able to make it in the wild and their tanks will be huge and private to keep away from the crazy theme park with top notch care from experienced trainers, and the final land will be Area 51 with quite the layout it'll have "Blastoff" a Intamin Launch Coaster themed to a rocket blasting off it'll also feature "Mission Martain" a simuator simulating a UFO experience, don't forget the "Zero Gravity Jump Zone" a trampoline area to get some energy out of those kids, "The Flying Cow" will be another top notch restaraunt themed to the cow who always gets stolen by aliens and of course an alien inspired gift shop
I know its not the craziest pitch or one with everything everyone wants but I imagine this would be the opening day roster with expansion coming soon
Hey there !
I'm on a quest to capture the essence of some of the most iconic rollercoasters on Earth, but I need YOUR help!
I'm seeking photos of the following coasters:
If you've got some EPIC shots of these coasters stashed away in your camera roll, I want to see them!
Drop your photos in the comments below or contact me by PM and let's make some magic happen. Who knows, you might just become a part of something incredible! (no really... Contact me or drop a comment, it's for a personal project I can't detail from the start but I'd be happy to explain it to you😊)
Thanks
Going for 1 and a half days this month full day on Friday the 26th and staying till 2-2:30 on Saturday the 27th. How will crowds be, and will Anzac Day on the 25th affect it at all? Also does this all sound reasonable for those 1 and a half days.
Must do rides are Leviathan, Jet Rescue and storm coaster. We also want to ride Vortex, Trident, Castaway bay battle boats and SpongeBobs BSB. Highest priority shows/exhibits/presentations are thunder lake stunt show, ray reef feeding, rock pool encounter, polar bear talk and the dolphin show. Also like to do one of the seal shows, one of the penguin talks and the shark bay talk.
Finally does anyone know how long each show/talk/presentation goes for. Cant find it on the website or anywhere. TIA!
