Before anyone asks: I fell in the water and just made it out when i was about to die, hence the low HP lol
Didn't have any healing items either cuz i just started the game :')
…that is the question, but no spoilers I already made my choice. I love how morally ambiguous this game is.
When you arrive at Oakmont chronicle, at 2nd mission, you can see this map, which spoils the all game😂
I'm struggling to find some Alcohol to restore my health can anyone help with this please and where is the best area to go to??
I've just finished the game for the first time and I kind of feel like it's possible that Reed just imagined it all. I'm going to try and explain it don't worry.
These "treatments" also include forms of torture like electrocution which could have worsened his condition.
Also after the case where we were supposed to bring back Harriet from the underwater temple we wake up in the hospital with a dream or hallucination that we were chained to the bed and wearing some kind of uniform maybe like something a mental patient would wear. This could be a hint that Reed is still in a mental hospital.
The game pretty much takes place in the real world and the city of Oakmont doesn't exist irl. The game also says that Oakmont is missing from most US maps which is pretty unusual and could be a hint at the fact that it's all in Reeds head.
The same goes for Innsmouth which is also fictional. When Reed meets a Innsmouther for the first time he is surprised because he has never seen anything like it before coming to Oakmont. I feel like Reed would know that there is a complete different type of "human" living in the US. I mean people in Innsmouth have had that syndrome long before the floods hit the two cities. Someone from the mainland would have surely noticed them.
Some of the hallucinations Reed has when his sanity is low include humans like the doctor walking towards us with a gun or that other weird psycho. These could maybe come from the hospital he is in. He is scared of the doctors and other patients there because he thinks they're trying to kill him.
This is why I think that the events of the game could all just happened in Reeds head. But who knows 🤷♂️ maybe I'm wrong. Anyway thank you for reading.
If I am wrong I apologise for wasting your time and also for any grammatical errors, English isn't my first language.
I can't help but think that some Wylebeasts looks a lot like they have a female part head 😅 Especially the Acheronians! Is it a reference to Chtulhu? I can't seem to find any answers but to me it's definitely not a coïncidence! Or the character designers were having a good laugh?
Im trying to complete Through the Looking Glass. I got Gaunter Randalls house address from the archives. Came to the correct house and killed the wylebeasts, but there's absolutely nothing to pick up or find with the sight on any of the floors.
Hi everyone, I just finished my first playthrough of the game but, since I didn't really like the shooting nor the dialogues but basically only the atmosphere, I completely skipped everything except the main missions ofc.
However when I got to the last mission, Into the Depths if I recall correctly, I was interested by one of the hallucinations that take place at the very end. It's the one with a woman (I guess) screaming "Help me die, I can't die" or something like that, and it's just before the KKK one.
Do you know what mission or piece of evidence it refers to? I couldn't find anything online but I'd be curious to play it, or at least watch it being. Also, if you think of any other side case that you think it's definitely worth it please let me know. Thanks in advance to everyone!
I'm finishing up my first playthrough of the game on PS5. As I don't have manual saves or PS+ for cloud access, I have to restart and play the main story two more times to get the platinum. Only, there is no New Game+, so I will have to overwrite my save and start from scratch each time.
I have maxed out my skill tree, currently with 3 excess knowledge points and half a level to the next one. I've unlocked all the costumes, and finished the DLC story missions. Now I'm just left with All That Glitters and the two Brain Cylinders sidequests uncompleted, and I have no motivation whatsoever to do them. EXP and ammo are meaningless rewards at this point.
As a completionist, having done almost everything there is to do on a single playthrough, it feels bad to give up on these quests, but they are just such an absolute pain to go through. They take place almost entirely in infested zones, and there isn't even anything in the way of story to motivate them. I really don't know why they felt the need to add excessive combat padding to an unsatisfying shooter game in a genre that disincentivizes combat.
I would have slogged through it if it continued to deliver on the core gameplay, or at least gave me something like a new costume, but as it stands, it feels completely pointless to go for 100% completion. I hope they do better in the sequel instead of just stuffing in more quests like this for the sake of increasing the volume of content.
So I'm at the final mission now and Jimmy Price just refuses to talk to me, just gives me the same stock answer everytime.
I've checked the house over numerous times, even gone and done the third monolith still nothing.
Any fixes or am I stuck?.
Difficult but still wanting to go at it but my saved game is with 1 inch of health. I washoping I could find a bed rest or see the doc get healed but that wasn't offered lol.
So right now the game and both dlcs are like 10 bucks right now, I really like hp lovecrafts stories and cosmic horror. But I’m not sure if the game is good. I was hoping for some insight on it
I left combat on Medium, as for investigation difficulty I went for the Medium one too, just before Master Sleuth I believe. I didn't found much infos online about it, is it the right choice ?
It's currently 49 euros in my country, should I wait for a sale ?
Hey I've played the game on ps4 and ps5 and it's currently on sale quite cheap on the switch atm. Has their been any improvements from the orginal reviews was saying years ago? Just wondering if it's worth my time to play portable.
Is there much of a difference in quality? Or should I just finish playing the version I started with.
So, Just started this game. I recently finished the first diving mission under water. Doing some jobs for Thogmorton right now. But I have to say, as a person that deeply enjoys narrative games and Lovecraft in general, this game is just not exciting for me. The mechanics of moving are clunky, the enemies just kind of being random spawns is a weird choice for a Lovecraft style game, and the combat is awful.
So, am I missing the appeal? Is the game going to take a turn and be more interesting as I play? Or is this just not a game for me?
So I saved Glenn's family and got the murder weapon and the confession from him, but now it says I have the option to frame Milton Pierce by placing the gun with his dirty laundry and taking a picture of it. But when I went to Milton's to try, I couldn't place it, and it seems all I can do now is go through with having Glenn take the fall. Has the game locked me out of this option since I got the confession from Glenn or is there a way still to frame Pierce?
Really wish there was a way to get back into the open world without restarting the whole game. Now I have to play until Graham gives me the smg again
Hi all, I'm trying to do all the side cases and I can't seem to get Breaking News to trigger. I initially messed and didn't complete Through The Looking Glass before completing Deal With The Devil and missed the trigger for Darling of Fortune, but I have got that one now. I made sure to speak to Robert after Nosedive, got my reward for that, completed Through The Looking Glass before completing Deal With The Devil but still couldn't get Breaking News to trigger. The only thing I can think of at this point is completing Mystic Tomes (started it but haven't complete it) before going to the Oakmont Chronicle for Self-Defense. I currently have a save outside the Chronicle so any advice would be very much appreciated.
Anyone else notice this massive wylebeast in fleeing phoenix? Like, why is it so big compared to the rest of the stygians?
I've not attacked any person on the street but often end up shooting wylebeasts from the dooway because I can notice they immediately aggro me when I step inside. While I'm trying to survive fighting several wylebeasts, suddenly a copper starts shooting me in the back because I guess I'm a threat for defending myself from the eldritch monsters? Really lazy from the game tbh. And now I ended up shooting the policeman because he followed me to the house and just wanted to kill me.
Edit: It happened again and I ended up losing my sanity after a battle with that biggest wylebeast type because I had to shoot a policeman attacking me on the street.
Do I need a Nintendo Online subscription to play the game on Switch? The store states that you need Nintendo Online to use the save game cloud. I want to avoid buying another game that I can't play.
I just completed Fathers and Sons and I was wondering if I had missed something. When you begin putting the clues together in the Mindplace one of them says something that sort of indicates that Graham isn't fully embedded with the cult but when you go to the mansion you see one of the Brutus clones. To me, that indicates that Graham is in with them; or at least in too deep to break off once he comes to power.
Did I miss something in that? Or maybe I'm reading more into the clone presence than I should? In the end I sided with Brutus for this reason. While Graham seemed more amiable and his vision seemed to mesh more with how I'm playing in the end his involvement with the cult was too damning. Again, to me it was obvious he was a full-blown member. I'm curious what other people's take was on this one.
So I the fish market main quest is a little bugged right? I found a post from like three years ago where a few people were talking about how the mind Palace prompt wasn't going away after talking to the professor.
I have a question. I bought the game as soon as it was release (Origin exclusive) long time ago.
I'm thinking on playing again this game from start, and since i love to Hunt Achievements in games, i consider to buy it on Steam.
I've heard a lot of Stories about some licence and intern fights between devs and licenses owner and such things. I kind of don't care about the drama, my only questions are:
1: Is the Steam version amputed from some content from Origin ?
2: Are some of the Origins bugs being patches on the latest Steam version?
3: Does it have news bugs from later edition that i don't know since i only played on Origin ? (maybe bug born on gamesplanet / Steam)
4: In conclusion, would buying it for the Achievements pleasure would lead me to enjoy less than my Origin exclusiv possession ?
