Game Overview
"Darkest Dungeon is a hard-core RPG about the stresses of dungeon crawling. You must manage a team of flawed heroes through the horrors of being 500 feet underground while fighting unimaginable foes, famine, disease, and the encroaching dark. You will have to tend to characters’ spirits as much as you do their Hit Points. But in these grim situations arises the opportunity for true skill and heroism!"

Patch Notes

reaching the act 2 boss for the first time since the patch and reading what changed...
as a vet since obsession's gaze it's about time, starting on a new save every update that boss was ALWAYS trouble and seeing the ample nerf it got, I'm very glad for it
i have this bug where the abomination in beast form has no animation for readying up for an attack or getting and when he goes into death door everything locks up, nothing happens and the only thing i can do is return to desktop from the pause menu, not even return to main menu, only to desktop works
the folder where the save files where went from having a bunch of json files to having nothing but a bunch of empty folders but that didn't seem to remove the saves
for some reason it's only one computer and not the other so i tried uninstalling the game, deleting everything i could find relating to it remaining (the files had already disappeared) and then re-installing the game and letting it sync with the cloud after u^ploading from the working computer and that still did not work
Warning. This is a long message with bad grammar.
Okay. So I started my kingdoms campaign and was doing great. That was until the second level of upscaling or whatever it is called. Suddenly I actually had to hold off a siege with just a man at arm's and three little people. Oh and on top of that I met my first rotclaw... To make a log story short the man at arm's died. Then the plauge doctor randomly died in a fight where I was trying to save an inn with my team. Then Reynaud, dismas, and the bounty hunter, died during the next siege despite there only being one enamy with 3 health left alive. Finally I did succeed at holding of the beastmen. That was until the duelist died fighting bandits. Also relationships and stress are REALLY hard to manage so overall I am wondering whether I should just start over?
P.S. I have no idea where to deliver story items to.
P.S.S. I hate tribecallers
Please give advice
I can't seem to find how to pull up enemy faction info using controller. Anyone play controller and know?
Like the title says, Confession mode has a lot of grind to it, and it would be really cool if we got candles for finishing a Kingdom run so we can unlock new skins and stuff.
Got this game earlier this year and started playing it.
While I managed to clear first Act/Chapter, I am getting stuck on the second Act/Chapter playing through it.
Main issue is the requirement to clear a Lair Boss to reach the Mountain. Have tried fighting all 4 different Lair Bosses but can't seem to kill them before getting wiped out.
Is there a recommended or easier Lair Boss to go after and should I try to kill them in the last Region or earlier.
I have most of the Heroes unlocked but not all of their paths and skills so any team compositions would be helpful as well.
I feel it's a lot more RISK than reward (specially when I meet that javelin thrower pig). Lots of time I opt to go through it hoping to get some cool trinkets to find only useless stuff and almost losing heroes in the process. I'm not seeing the point?
Any tips? What should I do, what should I be looking for, is the map fixed (if so what route should I take), etc. Thanks in advance.
Yesterday I bought dd2 and I have to say kingdoms might as well be dd3. The campaign is longish got events like dd1 has management tactical placement fatigue systems ect ect. I have no idea why they didn't sell this as a standalone game I'd happily pay 20 quid for beast clan alone.
I played a bit of confessions wasn't exactly sold but it's fine.
Wish the confession bosses were in kingdoms maybe the cultists could spawn them baring the final one. But I'm definitely gonna keep on playing. To put it into context I am a firm dd2 hater but they delivered and I feel bad for doubting red hook.
For some reason my Abomination has only 2 skills in beast form in kingdoms. I have finished his story in Confessions, but it shouldn't affect Kingdoms as far as I know.
Maybe that's a bug? Have anyone met this issue?
Character ai community moment
Just happened again! My Duelist was on 3hp, got hit in rank 3 by a fucking foot soldier with their relentless atrophic cut shit and just straight up died. Bypassed deaths door and just outright died.
Fuck sake man, first opportunity death blows are already frustrating enough.. Has this happened to anyone else?
Anyone knows how to fix this? I've run into a gamebreaking bug that sadly softlocked my Day 38 Kingdoms Run -_-, I was so close to finishing it too.. (Got the 20 hides for the Alpha). I've looked at the forums and the recent updates if there was a mention of this bug but found none. What happened is I was defending an inn with my veteran militia and one of the Veteran fighter got massive Damage over time and died.. I think he was the first in turn also (not sure) and the game panned unto him as he was about to die (see the turn icon). Thus he still has his turn active (I cannot pass turn or something) and I'm essentially softlocked/ bricked in my Kingdoms run :(. I tried reloading the game, quitting to main menu, exit and reload save. But no luck, it always pan to this eternal scene...
I've been doing some runs to try out the Lairs and get some practice to figure out what handles each one best. So far I've managed to beat the Librarian twice, the General twice, the Harvest Child once (and trust me I should have lost that fight) and I have yet to try the Shroud boss (mostly because I hate the Shroud and I simply do not wish to go there ever)
Between them all, I find the General to be the easiest and the Harvest Child to be the hardest, and I was curious, what's everyone else's opinion on the bosses? Which do you find easiest or hardest and how do you usually handle them? My most reliable team has been Flag/GR/Jest/PD
I’m kinda new on steam and I got the problem of not having Mastery Trainer and Stagecoach option appear at inn.
My only concern is only mastery skills, so as the title says. Since stagecoach can be accessed by clicking a stagecoach item.
A redditor suggests that I should disable the inn candle mod but it didn’t work.
Thank you so much in advance.
Also will mods be coming to Kingdoms?
EDIT: solved, the problem was a mod that lessen the chance of getting negative quirks upon arriving on an inn.
Got a steam achievement for it and I honestly don't know what these stress personality thingies are or where to see what they do. Loving this game so far though!
I know that its unnecessary and a lot of work but many enemies having the exact same corpses is a little disappointing unlike dd1
I never wanna swap my main team out because they're so much drippier than the rest of my heroes, give me the option please Red Hook.
Basically the title, lost my full power jinx Damian, want to edit files to try to bring him back :(
I’ve played RPG’s before and I’ve had a lot of fun with them, so when this went on sale for about 10 bucks it piqued my interest. Is this a sort of “deluxe” edition of the base game? And is it worth my time and money?
17 hours of play and 2 bosses defeated, am I bad?
