The Source Filmmaker (SFM) is the movie-making tool built and used by Valve to make movies inside the Source game engine. Because the SFM uses the same assets as the game, anything that exists in the game can be used in the movie, and vice versa. By utilizing the hardware rendering power of a modern gaming PC, the SFM allows storytellers to work in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get environment so they can iterate in the context of what it will feel like for the final audience.

I've known sfm for a while but never used it, Im getting a screen full of nothing when i open the software, But when i click on windows it opens me a window for things like the tracker or something, Is there a convenient way i can get a full setup of the ui and not accidentally delete the whole interface by accident again
I don't know if this is the correct subreddit to put this in but it was close enough. The channel I'm looking for had laser in the name, and didn't really upload much. They were kinda horror related and were on the same level as Flytorainbowray. Please let me know if you can find it.

Can you use the jumpacademy2 map in sfm? I tried doing it but sfm closes when I load the map
I’ve recently come into possession of my very first laptop, which is a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9, and I’ve been meaning to use SFM for quite a long time since even before I got the laptop. Anyways, I’ve also seen this question being asked in Steam, but with people asking for specs, so let me fill you guys in on what I’ve got:
I should also say that technically I have tried SFM on it already, and while it does get the job then, it does occasionally switch between different POVs (Ig that’s what you call it, basically switching between my camera 2 view and my work camera view), and flickers black when I’m moving. So what I’m kind of looking for here is whether it will continue to be able to run even in long term. Any sort of feedback or advice would be much appreciated! :D
I am extremely new to sfm, randomly my camera broke/ stopped animating after messing with the aperture slider, after some research it said to extend the clips past there time however that doesn't seem to be working, I've tried deleting key frames, readding a camera ect, now the rest of animation, that works and does move cannot be edited either
any suggestions?

I know about messing around with lighting and removing the AO in the progressive refinement settings but what else can I do to make more appealing posters?
Hello, I am making my third project in SFM and I want to add a spy with the the aforementioned cosmetics. I've already manually added the cosmetic file from TF2.
The Upgrade appears as a part of the "add Team Fortress Item" dialog, but just shows the massive Error object. The name makes it difficult to find a workshop fix, if it even exists.
The Dead of Night has been added as a separate model. I want to color it as if it were painted "Balaclavas are Forever" but changing the tint in the material override has no effect.
Edit: I found a fix online for the DoN, but I still can't located a fix for the Upgrade.
