Is it possible to build muscle at my age without TRT?
Havent had any weight goal, just wanted to post my progress of how i looked compared to now of consistently training
Same shirt in both. The shirt is actually what pushed me to finally make some lifestyle changes. My boss had to ORDER a shirt for me as he did not have any more on hand that fit me (2xl)and it was snug. Now it's loose, and finally seeing a difference is motivating me to continue on this path.
Most of my progress really ramped up in the last 4 or 5 months but it’s been a year of trying to make better decisions
My family even pointed out my weight loss yesterday for the first time!
A year ago today I started my fitness journey
along with weightlifting I love cardio and calisthenics, I have made substantial changes to my diet and as-well as many other healthy lifestyle choices as a result of wanting to improve in the gym.
feel free to ask me anything as I always see people on the internet discouraged by the apparent long period of time that it takes natural lifters to see progress when in reality, if you are actually consistent and eating what you meed to eat and doing the things you need to do you will see progress as I have.
Stuck at a plateau lately but looking back at old pictures helps
Another 50 to go
Started dieting in December 2022 at 255 lbs, then lifting in may 2023. Took a few months off from a virus and then abdominal surgery (you might be able to see the appendectomy scars in the right picture lol) but been making great gains in the last several months since recovering from the surgery and getting back into it.
Natural, just calorie deficit, high protein, creatine, and vitamin and other normal supplements. I get around 8k steps a day on average, and rn I'm doing 5 days of lifting per week, but I started at 3 days a week after recovering from surgery, in march/April this year. Slowly progressing is the way to go. Really happy with my results so far. Hoping to drop my fat enough to reveal my abs way better by the end of the year, never had a real Sixpack before, would like to have one.
Approximately 20 lb loss between these pics!
2024 has been rough so far, with a near fatal infection, sciatica, and a third fight with Covid. But I’m getting back to it and am hoping I can lose the rest of the weight I need to lose in the next year. The photo on the left helps motivate me to keep going.
