So proud. Can’t wait to try it
I'm getting into meal prepping (or just storing food better) and need advice on what containers to get.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
What kind of containers should I get? Glass, silicone, metal (are there microwavable metal ones?), wood, or something else?
Also, if you’ve got any container stories—good or bad—let me know!
hello all! i’m looking for something that i can pull out the fridge and eat immediately or heat up for a few minutes. i don’t really care for hard boiled egg yolks but i like whites. any suggestions?
Has anyone tried this. Like I just want to drink a cup of liquid for lunch at work so I can spend my actual lunch walking around and being outside. Like is that even possible. I don’t care how it tastes. Like the shake that plankton makes in SpongeBob or the food bars they eat in snowpiercer or the Soylent green. Just pop it in and be done. Or do I have to make some food. I’m already answering my own question. I want to try to make like a month of lunches at a time but the gf can’t handle eating the same thing for more than a few days. Maybe I can try to make smaller containers of food. I don’t know. It’s so nice out I want to spend my full hour walking around is all
What are the best containers to buy $20 max or under that has a good amount in it? It'll be meals for 2 people so I want it to have a lot in it
I've been meal prepping lately in response to my schedule getting busier and in a few days my schedule is going to start getting tighter than ever before. Meal prepping on my off days is an excellent way to reduce my stress during the week. However, I find that almost EVERY food to me tastes worse left over, and I struggle to eat anything that I prepped more than three days ago. Not very conducive to my schedule. I also can't stand to eat the same meal more than two or three times in a row. I've solved for that one by just prepping a couple of different meals at once, it's exhausting but it gets the job done. The thing I can't find a solution to is the decline in flavor as the week progresses. Is there some secret trick to maintaining flavor, especially for meat in particular? Am I simply too much of a diva? If anyone has any handy tips for preserving flavor when prepping meals for the week I'm DYING to hear them. (Side note: if you're gonna say freeze them, don't, in my experience the freezing and thawing process does nightmarish things vis a vis texture, I'm very texture sensitive lol)
Base: Quinoa Protein: Honey Harissa Chicken Thighs - sous vide then tossed in sauce over heat Toppings: Roasted Veggies (Tricolor bell pepper, red onion, zucchini), Fresh Cucumber/Tomato/Red Onion salad, homemade Tzatziki sauce, Trader Joe’s hummus
I love having veggies for lunch and since I don’t like salads in winter I decided to stick to grain bowls. First farro has been life changing high in fiber, satiating, an excellent substitute for rice. Then I add any roasted veggie I like. In this case I added broccoli, butternut squash, and zucchini. For my chicken I marinated it with soy sauce, curry powder, lemon juice salt and pepper and air fried it. Very simple meal prep, high in protein and fiber, and can easily be switched up by changing veggies and chicken marinade.
Last night I made Banza (chickpea pasta) with meat sauce: Roas, grass fed beef, and a good amount of vegetables. I was super excited to have a high protein/fiber meal planned out for the next few days. Well, come this morning I realized that I was so tired last night that I forgot to put it away😭 Now all that food is wasted and I have to make something new. I'm so sad about at the moment.
I’ve been wanting to buy in bulk and make more meals at a time but I’m afraid they’ll go bad. Also the second question.
Hey everyone, I have a quick question about my Eat Clean meal preps. I have 4 meals left, and the packaging says "Use By 1/28/2025." Well, it's now the 30th, and I’m just a little confused—does this mean they’re officially expired?
I wish it would just say "Do Not Eat After" or something clearer. "Use By" feels kinda general. Has anyone eaten them a day or two past the date? Do you think they’re still safe, or should I toss them?
Would appreciate any insight before I make a questionable decision lol.PreCooked Meals
Me and my friend are low on money recently, but we feed over 40 stray cats every day, and cannot let them go hungry. During such times, when we don't have enough money for dry cat food, we cook chicken heads, skins, livers and meat from the legs, since these are the most affordable and nutritious parts. The recipe for them is also very simple: We put everything in a big pot of water, cook the meat for 20-30 minutes, and portion everything out. The food can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for a month - usually, though, the cats don't leave any leftovers😹
My fiancé and I are trying to limit going to the grocery store to twice every month. I am only feeding 2 people and a 2 year old dog but groceries seem so expensive. What are the cheapest meals to meal prep? And what meats should I use to feed only 2 people? Also what meals should I make for my dog?
I work 12 hour night shift about 4-5 days a week and need something that would be simple to reheat semi quickly. Any recommendations are appreciated! Pretty open minded with my meals
Hi, looking for recommendations for meal prep containers that yall personally like. I have been using cheap plastic ones that are at the end of their life and tend to stain easily with grease and such.
Preferably glass or something that won't leak and has held up for you.
Thanks
I bought a set of glass Ello containers 3 years ago for meal prepping. They're pretty good, but the last 2 years I haven't had a dishwasher and suddenly they became a nightmare. The glass bottoms are fine but the tops have so many tiny nooks that catch food! I have to pop off the 4 latches, pull the seal out, scrub all the nooks and crannies with a tiny brush, let it dry and struggle to reassemble the latches.... it takes forever and I'm frankly tired of doing it, especially since I'll spend 5 minutes cleaning a single lid and it'll dry and I'll find crud I missed.
So I'm seeking recommendations on glass bottomed, microwave safe, food prep containers with easier to clean tops. I don’t need fancy lids that have little steam openings or sets with 5 different sized containers or even rubber linings for the glass. Just rectangles or squares to hold meals on them. TIA!
So I just want to preface this with, I am lazy and I am trying to change that in small steps. I really want to get into meal prepper as my life is about to get chaotic.
I want to prep good healthy foods for at least breakfast and lunch, but I don't want the hassle of buying a scale and super recording everything. The thought of all that is just daunting right now, is there a simpler way to do it without over estimating my guessing, or do I need to just suck it up and buy a scale?
I’m planning to make some bolognese and chilli corne that’s meant to last 4 days, both using chicken if it makes any difference.
The issue is I’m highly terrified of getting food poisoning and I’ve no idea how to store my sauces while keeping the taste and safe.
PS: I want to transfer my sauces into big tupperwares and divide them into individual portions for when I need them instead of keeping them in separate boxes.
Hey y'all, I was wondering if anyone knew of tupperware/food storage containers that had measuring tick marks on them. Something like the below would be awesome.

Thanks in advance
For context, my husband could simply eat fruit, eggs, rice, potatoes, and some form of meat every day for the rest of his life. Real clean gym bro diet.
I however cannot live without eating different meals with more vegetables, new flavours, salads etc.
I’m struggling to manage how to meal prep or ingredient prep so that I can make both of us the meals we need without extra effort on the day. Wondering if anyone has any advice like sharing ingredients or how to mix up the meals a bit?
Edit: Reading replies I should’ve made clear his food is definitely not bland nor does he not eat what I like to cook 😂 He just prefers the same types of foods daily so he knows he’s getting his macros while I like my meals to have variety

Boiled chickpeas with a coconut and tomato puree sauce (as in "curry"), red lentils, black rice, vegan chicken.
I guess this one got a little heavy on carbs 😅 tho at least they're all complex carbs.
