Looking for easy meal prep ideas

I am a picky-ish eater, a subpar cook, and a college student. Additionally, I am relatively lazy when it comes to the whole cooking thing. Currently, my go to has been a large batch of shepherd's pie (takes 45 mins to make for me), yogurt+trail mix, protein shakes, potatoes+eggs+sausage for breakfast, and protein shakes.

The only "mealprep" thing here would be the shepherds pie, as that lasts me 4-5 days max. Shepherds pie works well for me because it also has carrots+peas, which I definitely lack vegetables in my diet.

Do you have any suggestions for other meal prep I can do thats easy, shorter on time, and hits all the macros like shepherds pie (sorry for mentioning sheps pie so much)?

Any random suggestions/tips?

Meal prep safe?

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAGtq7bNtp0/?igsh=MXE4NW41NGNpdmZmOQ==

Not sure if this is a dumb question. If I were to make a bunch of these and freeze them and then airfry them to heat them up would the food still be ok?

I see your beautiful meal prepping and raise you a college-student staple: Bean Jars

I pressure cook like a pound of beans at a time and chuck them in the freezer. I don’t have the money for meal prep containers so I just use leftover jars lol. Each one lasts like 3-4 days and I just plop beans into whatever I’m eating.

Freezing potato salad

Just like the title says.

I'm chronically ill and can't make potato salad from scratch. I want to buy some of the store stuff and the big size (more than twice the size of the small one) is only 50c more expensive but I can't eat 8 serves of potato salad in the 2 days they say to eat by.

Reckon it would freeze ok? Like if I defrosted and ate cold, cause I think hot potato salad would be gross.......... or maybe it would be the best mash potato ever?! 🤣

Cheap Drinks to Make at Home?

Drinks are surprisingly extremely expensive, Juice (especially healthier kinds) pop, milk, even just the powdered bulk stuff. Is there any cheaper alternatives? I usually have a couple glasses of water a day but I haaate plain water, and sometimes it's dirty brown from the tap. Bottled water is cheap but leaves alot of waste. Throwing fruit in is good but it's pretty mid and expensive to do.

Are there any cheaper alternatives? I was looking at a sodastream thing to make soda with, but with the cost of C02 it works out to be close to pop on sale anyways. Canada ON here

Overnight Oats how many days ahead do you prepare?

Just wanted to know how many days ahead you guys prep your overnights oats? I'd like to get atleast 5 days at a time without it turning to mush.

Currently use 100-150ml of milk per 40g oats.

Do you also add anything to your oats when prepping or do you do it after e.g. fruit, honey etc...

Also anyone have experience with overnight protein oats mine have almost always turned to crap.

box or bag ?

hey, I'm completely new to mealprep and today I'll start meal prepping for a few weeks. I'll store the overnight oats in the freezer in tupperware but the I have two other meals.

meal 1 is 240 g Pasta, 200 g brokkoli and 400 g chicken breast

meal 2 120 g Pasta, 100 g brokkoli and 200 g chicken breast.

would it be recommended to cook everything, pack it in freezer bags and freeze it ? or are tupperware better to keep the flavor ?

A busy vegetarian’s first attempt at meal prep!

I made three dishes with a mix of cauliflower, peppers, and mushrooms as well as vegetarian meatballs, tofu, and impossible ground beef! With this combination of ingredients, I made a Thai yellow curry, a mapo tofu, and a General Tso stir fry. I paired them all with a multigrain blend, inspired by Korean multigrain rice, including white and brown rice, split green peas, and barley.

lunch ideas for an ADHD workaholic

hello all! im struggling with finding meals that i can bring to work that i dont have to work hard on the night before/have to prep so much at work. i work 10 hr days and only get a 15 min break and a 30 min lunch. im able to eat on the floor (factory job) but im struggling to find easy things i can make.

im more going towards sandwiches/quick little snacks/meals i can bring to work because i go between two households (until June) so i struggle with this. i dont care if its repeating meals, i just need something i can put together quick the night before & just grab in the morning.

they dont need to be healthy at all, im not focused on that. my mind is drawing a blank though because all i can think of is either salads or sandwiches. which is fine! but i kinda want snack ideas too maybe?

im only asking for small and generic meals because at my parents house if i have something here, 9 times out of 10 itll get eaten when im at my partners. and for my partners, they have a roommate so the fridge is shared so i cant have too much in there.

im thinking about just getting stuff to make little sandwiches (like lunch meat and cheese) but i was wondering if theres anything else that i could prep for the next couple weeks or so. like ill make a couple at a time since im at my dads 3 1/2 days of the week and the rest are at my partners house (im there on the weekends). ive become a snack eater now cause of conflicts at work (long story) so i barely eat as is at work, but most of the time i either walk to the breakroom to buy stuff or walk to mc donalds and that takes too much time and too much money so i want to prep more.

i hope this isnt too much and i also hope this makes sense. ive searched google and all that comes up are actual meals/extremely healthy meals that i wouldnt eat at all so im losing hope lmao

thank you!!!

Raw or cooked frozen meat?

I’m just starting to freeze meals for when I work 12hr shifts and commute and hour each way to save me time on those work days. I’m wondering if freezing raw chicken that’s been seasoned or in a marinade will taste better when it’s been thawed and cooked or if I should cook it first and then thaw and reheat? I do have a vacuum sealer so I can also vacuum my meals I plan to freeze after I freeze them first.

What are the things to watch out for when preparing egg fried rice?

Hi everyone, so I've been looking and reading around for meal prep recipes for egg fried rice and chicken. Most of them are kind of the same but one factor that I see a lot of discussion on is safely storing the food and reheating.

I've got a couple questions regarding that. This would be Monday to Friday (5 servings)

Can I make it Sunday night, stick it in the fridge and then take out as necessary? I've seen some saying freeze it and some saying it's fine to keep in the fridge.

Secondly about the eggs, apparently you cannot reheat it? So you've got to take it out the fridge and then just leave it and then eat when needed? Or can I put it in the microwave to warm and eat?

Starting to get into meal prepping and was wondering what you would say the shelf life is for leftovers in the fridge.

I enjoy making large stir fries where the leftovers will last me a few days that I keep in tupperware in the fridge. What would you say is the shelf life for leftovers in the fridge?

School lunch healthy

So most of the week I like to eat those salads that you get at the store, but for Fridays I want to start prepping a bento box that will keep me full. I tend to stay after school most days so I definitely need to stay full and I like to snack. It also needs to be cheap cause I am in highschool, plus extremely healthy! I've been wanting to be healthier for awhile, with snacks and everything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Can this meal be frozen to eat throughout the week?(Minus the pineapple, too lazy to take that part out)

Ingredients:

•	500 grams chicken breast, cut into cubes
•	1/2 cup soy sauce
•	1/4 cup white vinegar
•	1/4 cup honey
•	1 tablespoon sesame oil
•	2 cloves garlic, minced
•	1 teaspoon grated ginger
•	1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
•	Salt and pepper to taste
•	Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1.	In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, white vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Add salt and pepper to taste.
2.	Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3.	Heat some vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken cubes until they are cooked through and golden brown.
4.	Add the dissolved cornstarch to the pan to thicken the sauce. Stir well until the sauce has a glossy texture.
5.	Warm up the soft tortillas according to the package instructions.
6.	Fill the warm tortillas with the sweet and sour chicken and pineapple chunks.
7.	Fold the tacos and serve immediately.

Sauces that freeze well?

Hello all! I'm looking for sauces that freeze well in meals. Typically I would make my own Chipotle, avocado, cilantro lime etc sauce with greek yogurt as a base. I'd add this to my bowls, I'll add it to my breakfast/lunch wraps and it tastes great! Now it's about time I start making bulk items but I'm worried about the sauces. Has anyone had any experience freezing and reheating items that have a greek yogurt based sauces? Any alternative? I'd be making it for myself maybe one other person so I'm trying to reduce my greek yogurt waste as one container is too much and goes bad! I typically use the 0% greek yogurt.

Thanks !

How do pasta based dishes do after being frozen? And anyone got any fav recipes?

My wifes struggling to have the energy/motivation/time etc to cook for herself lately. I work long hours so usually eat chicken and rice, chilli, curry and rice etc at work but she doesnt like these.

She loves alfredo recipes, eggplant parm, salmon and shrimp dishes like lemony shrimp scampi stuff like that, but makes these fresh for herself and usually has enough for lunch the next day.

If i made batches of these for the freezer would they hold up for a month or two? I dont really do pasta.... just so when she's caught on an off day she doesnt have to mess around.

And if anyone has any suggestions on recipes that sound similar that do hold up well would you mind sharing? Thanks!!
