POWERVIOLENCE
Fucking metalheads and hardcore assholes stand united.
If it falls somewhere between hardcore and grindcore this is probably the best place for it.
POSTING GUIDELINES
I created this community 10 years ago and I don't really want to be arsed with spending a lot of time moderating it.
If you're unsure wether something self promoting would fit here, throw it in a text post and explain yourself.
If you come in here with homophobic or racist or fascist or ableist or sexist attitudes, you've clearly missed the point of this music, and I'm not gonna waste time my time on negotiating, I'll be swift in banning your ass.

I know it's not Powerviolence. But it's Agathocles! With an interview of Jan.
Hello! Earlier this year I got some people together for a Cybergrind/Metalcore/Nintendocore/Powerviolence band called The Party Asteroid Apocalypse (yep, after the Combatwoundedveteran song). Though we hadn't yet gotten together to write the songs beyond some preliminary ideas I had, I got us a gig on December 15th in Frederick figuring we could get together and crank out a few songs in just a few months if we really put our noses to the grindstone.
Then half the guys in the band had to pull out due to life circumstances. And we still have the show in 6 weeks.
So I'm reaching out to the community - if there's anybody here who can write a mean fast guitar riff, WE WANT YOU!
In terms of our style, The Party Asteroid Apocalypse currently consists of myself on vocals and my friend Rose doing synths and drum programming (yep, drum machine band). While I identify more strongly with Powerviolence than other genres (hence why I'm posting about it in this sub), this is a project heavily influenced by Grindy bands like Yacopsae and PV-adjacent bands like early Nails, as well as synth-driven Metalcore bands like HORSE the Band, The Locust (are The Locust considered PV?), and Teen Cthulhu, though I also love classics like Infest and Charles Bronson.
If you're interested, RESPOND FAST! If you know somebody who might be interested, LET THEM KNOW!
A new band my brother and house mate started with a lad who recently moved from Canberra: NSW & a wild ass drummer who is arguably one of the best drummers in South Australia. They're called Success. Have a sus at their EP on bandcamp, it's wild to see this genre of music being nailed so hard on the head in a city that's been nothing but beatdown/hardcore for at least a decade now.

There's the link to their bandcamp. Give it a listen (it's free) and if you enjoy it, show the boys some support.
Side note, after playing three shows they opened for Spy at their Adelaide show on their Australia tour in August this year.
Keep it real, ya'll.

any bands like blame god, mescaline maniacs, sex prisoner, rjc?
I was hoping some people may have recommendations for female fronted PV bands. I used the search option but the only relevant post is a decade old. Thanks in advance.
i do not care for mitb.
Spun this record today, seeing if anyone else would appreciate.
I cannot for the life of me remember the artist or the name of the record. It’s on spotify. The album art has a reddish/maroon border and the central piece is a field of wheat or some sort of grain and if I remember correctly there’s some kind of mechanical looking thing. Maybe a telescope or a satellite dish. The first track there’s a lot of noise and it makes the bass tone sound like a laser. Please help me lmao it was such a good record.
Over the years I keep coming back to In Disgust and their brand of nihilistic grindviolence. I feel they're way underrated. The bassists facials are A+
Not to sound uneducated but like why can’t I find anything I like as much as Enemy Soil?
Pv/emo violence from Japan.
After hours of hard work, I have audio-tagged everything from the three Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! records. I used the official rips provided by Slap-a-Ham and organized the three records with the proper artwork, titles, and track order.
