Hi everyone,
I’m an Indian traveler heading to Japan from December 10th to 24th for work. During this period, I’ll be based in Tokyo and plan to explore the city after work hours and on weekends. I’d love to hear your suggestions for must-visit places, unique experiences, and hidden gems in Tokyo that I can fit into a tight schedule.
After December 24th, I’ll be on leave and plan to explore other cities like Kyoto, Osaka, and maybe a few more (open to ideas!). I’m currently planning my itinerary for this part of the trip, so any advice on transportation, accommodation, and must-see spots would be greatly appreciated.
One of my goals for this trip is to meet new people and connect with fellow travelers. If any of you happen to be in Japan during the same time, especially in Tokyo or other cities post-24th, it would be great to cross paths and share experiences.
Feel free to drop your tips or let me know if you’d be interested in meeting up. Looking forward to this incredible journey!
Thanks in advance for your advice and recommendations!
I'm looking for suggestions for a 3 month stay in Osaka. I'm a 32M that will be in Osaka from the beginning of February to end of April 2025. I've searched on AirBnb and Agoda/Booking.com for both hotels and serviced apartments but can't find something that's affordable for an extended stay. Are there any other local platforms where I can find a 3 month short term lease? One platform I've found is https://apartment-japan.com/osaka, does anyone have experience using their services? My maximum budget is 165 000 Yen per month. I require a simple furnished bacherlor's/studio with fast and stable wifi relatively close to public transport / railway station.
Im having trouble with google maps... I dont really understand can anyone help 😭
Also how do I go to namba marui?
Anyone in Osaka need a cardboard box? We have an extra box that’s 16.5 x 24.5 x 18 (inches) and are near Minami-morimachi station. We’re leaving tomorrow, and accidentally bought too much.
I was walking along the streets around Shimanouchi with my wife when we spotted a young lady (15-18yr old?) with a push cart filled with snacks (boxed apple pie, boxed Swiss roll etc)
She rushed towards us with her cart and started talking to us in Japanese (i can only speak extremely butchered Japanese). We ended up buying one apple pie from her at 2500yen as she seems very earnest.
Have any locals chanced upon this? We are curious to know more about her job. (Self employed? Winter job?)
Anyone on a beer adventure tonight? Or tomorrow? Or the coming week?
I only have one night in Osaka (tomorrow), looking for must sees will get there around 3pm and leave Tuesday out of Kansai at 8pm.
First night staying in Osaka (CBD) and I can’t sleep. Why are there insane and constant boy racing car noises? It’s been like, three hours and doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. Is this some kind of event or just assholes? Why in the middle of the city?!?!
Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a more formal (not yakiniku) style steakhouse in Osaka. Based on all my research, I believe that Kitashinchi Fukutatei is the most fancy and Kamayaki Steak Fukada is a similar style but less established. Anyone have experience with these places?
In particular, i'm interested in experience reserving Kitashinchi Fukutatei - on Omakase they open up a month in advance but I haven't seen anything. I am staying at Conrad Osaka so going to ask them if I end up choosing that but just wondering in advance.
Thanks!
As the title suggest I have a flight from Osaka to Tokyo which departs at 8:30am and seems like if I take the usual running train/bus shuttle schedule I won't make it to my flight.
Anyone happening to go to Osaka from Kyoto tommorow? Around 4-5am? Willing to car pool? As well open to suggestions :)
Hello all. Me and two other friends are planning to visit Osaka the first week of January this coming year. However we just found out that we booked the wrong dates for our hotel and are now in need of a place to stay. Any recommendations for cheap hotels/airbnbs (preferably in the Namba area) would be much appreciated!
Preferable a place that's only in Osaka! We'd like to try something different during our visit.
I’m currently staying in dotonbori area and I wanted to party, what are some of your favorite bars for good music and vibe
Planning to have a good sashimi fix later for my last full day in Osaka. I would appreciate everyone’s recommendations :)
I'm looking for a cheap yet clean place to stay at while in Osaka got any suggestions. Someone suggested AirBnB's or capsule hotels, I'm looking for something close to trains.
First time in the city but 4th time in Japan. 37M, Chinese Singaporea, pretty well travelled and have lived overseas - part time DJ as well. I'm up for beers/cocktails/sake/whatever and am open to checking out clubs and parties too.
I can hang in the daytime but my itinerary is pretty packed since I'm in town to check out vintage fashion, visit cultural places and eat at places where I've saved. Happy for you to tag along too if you're into any of the above. FYI, I'm a huge fashion guy. :)

This was my favorite dish in Hawaii and I'm surprised how little of it I see in Japan. Does anyone know of a restaurant that specializes/serves this in Osaka near the dottonburi area?
Konichiwa,
Greetings from Denmark, I'll be visiting with my wife and two kids in April '25, we saw the EXPO is started and want to visit that obviously before departing.
We'll land in Osaka 1 of April and leave from Osaka in the end of April.
We plan on spending 5-7 days in the start and perhaps 4-5 days before departure.
Which places/areas would be best suited to stay when we arrive and the 2nd time before we leave with regards to the EXPO 2nd time around.
We are not set on our intenerary for our journey yet, so any suggestions is very much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! having a blast in Osaka right now and im just dying to go opp shopping! could I please have some recommendations?
I'm a solo female traveler. I want to try out different food and bar locations in the city. Since I am here during the week most tour pub crawls are not operating. If someone could proved suggestions that would be great.
Are there any consignment type stores in Osaka that will buy my clothes?
Hi people!
I am searching for some recommendations for specific desserts or dessert places that you really liked :) Here are some that I have tried:
Gariguette, Umeda: It is a bit pricy but definitely worth it. I tried the strawberry and pistacchio one and really liked it. The cream is so tasty and the pastry itself i crunchy 5/5
Grenier, Umeda: Tried the Brulee one and really liked to custard creme. Tastefull but not too sweet. However the pastry was a bit too flaky for me and made a bit of a mess 4/5
Belle Époque ( Taiwan Nougat ), Close to amemura: Tried the Tapioca Pancake there and was the best Soufflee Pancake that I had so far - might be because I love Tapioca. The interior is also sweet 5/5
