Since New York recognizes Election Day as a state holiday does that mean there’s holiday pay?

Today is the last day of Early Voting in New York!

Check in with your county’s Board of Elections for where your early voting sites are and when they are open.

And if you don’t have an opportunity to take part in Early Voting, don’t worry, in-person voting on Election Day will be open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM. If you don’t know where your polling location is for Election Day, contact your county’s Board of Elections.

You can also still submit an application for an Early Mail or Absentee Ballot. The deadline to turn the application in is tomorrow, Monday November 4. The deadline to return your ballot to your county’s Board of Elections in-person or to a ballot drop box is Tuesday, November 5. That is also the last day a ballot can be turned into the post office and postmarked.

Artist looking for live/work space

Hi all, I’m an oil painter looking to relocate to New York. I’d like to be within thirty minutes to an hour of train commute to NYC. I’m looking for a space I can both paint in and live in, and I know these are hard to find and are not usually legal, but I know they exist. I live an extremely minimalist lifestyle and I can just about fit all my belongings in a suitcase. I’m also a skilled house painter by trade.

If anyone has suggestions or leads please let me know 🙏🏻

NYS civil service exam- chemistry

Has anyone taken this exam? My girlfriend will take it the first week of December, but has bad test anxiety and NYS doesn’t have a test guide for this one and googling is turning up zip. Looking for any advice or leads on what she might need to expect and how to best prepare!

Voter registration listed Inactive

Asking for a friend because I've never encountered this(I voted Sat). They have previously voted, but checked their status today and is listed as Inactive but they're assigned a polling place. Are they SOL?

Traveling through - help me out?

Hi folks, would like to apologize in advance for what is maybe an annoying post.

I'll be traveling through on Nov 7th from Vermont to Vernon.

This is my route:

Vergennes VT to 185 > 22 > 9 > 74 > 87 to Pottersville > 9 > 8 Wevetown, Johnsburg, Speculator > Pisco Lake > 365 Hinkley Reservoir, Barnveld, Holland Patent > Rome > Vernon

I tried researching/googling first before posting but didn't find helpful info. Rather than me researching each town along my way could you help me out by recommending some stops to break up the trip and make some memories? Probably either a quick photo op outdoors or something indoors since November tends to be mostly cold and grey/brown. I like great restaurants/stores that are in historic/quaint buildings, art galleries, foodie-type eats, educational/unusual sites, etc. Any recommendations appreciated. Grateful. Thank you in advance. Sorry for the tourist question. I know they can be annoying.

Have you voted yet?

Stood in line in Saratoga county yesterday to vote. It took an hour. In 2020 I was in that same line for 3.5 hours. 💙

Hi! Looking for any recommendations you may have for farms upstate that have GF food options? I have a friend visiting and want to take her to a farm to pick some apples or a pumpkin patch (think some fall activity not in the city) but she is celiac so looking for somewhere that has something she can eat. Thanks!
