Who listens to KEXP here?

I listen to KEXP nearly daily and occasionally hear a shout-out to a local Syracuse listener from a DJ.

KEXP is an independent listener-supported radio station out of Seattle. I cannot say enough things about the station.

Indoor dog swimming?

Is there anywhere I can bring my pup to learn how to swim indoors? I don’t trust him off leash and I’d rather he learn how to swim indoors.

We just moved from the Philly area and were on the waitlist for puppy swim classes but moved before we got our chance😢

Seatbelt checkpoint on 81, Salina st exit

Pulled on the north ramp earlier to about 10 trooper cars and a group of troopers checking for seatbelts

Did they try to pick one of the poorest areas to do it in?

Outside study spots

Hi everyone,

Are there good spots to study outside with electrical outlets that are not necessarily cafe or food related? I have looked all around Syracuse University and have not found a good spot. I have checked out Franklyn square as well and there appear to be no tables there to do work. Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.

Secluded Nature Spots

Hey everyone, just here to see if anyone knows of any spots in Syracuse or at most less than an hour out that have great views of nature, and are more or less secluded and don’t have a lot of people visiting. Whether it be flower/field views or a water fall or any sort of hike, I guess just a good area to just chill in solitude. Let me know any suggestions!

Best places for hanging baskets

We live in Liverpool and want to get some hanging baskets, but not at Wegman’s nor Hafner’s. Any recommendations? We’re willing to drive a little bit, but our favorite place closed down.

Local animal shelters that can recycle pillows into bedding?

We have some pillows that could be recycled instead of tossed out. My previous city had a textile recycling program, but I don’t see anything in Syracuse. Are there any local animal shelters that could use these instead?

Best lunch spots in Fayetteville?

Not too familiar with Fayetteville, but I will be out there today for a while. What are some good lunch spots around that part of town? I’m thinking cold sandwiches/wraps, but really anything that goes well in hot weather works! Thanks!

Any nice parks in Little Falls NY

I know it’s not really Syracuse but I will be visiting Syracuse over the summer and have a friend in Albany. We want to meet up somewhere in between Syracuse and Albany and looks like Little Falls is the midway point. I will have a 9mo old with me so looking for a nice lunch spot possibly near a park that we can go to? Any ideas? THIA

SCSD: Zoning for Schools

Looking to move up to Syracuse. Pretty familiar with the area, but have not been back up there in over a decade. There are a few homes on the market that are in SCSD zoning and I know it was not ideal back then, so how are the city schools now? For example, how is Henninger or Nottingham HS now?

FWIW I am trying to find the ideal place for my family (two small children) where I don't have to necessarily pay for private school. Primarily looking at Baldwinsville, Manlius, Jamesville, etc. but if there are any other surrounding areas I should expand my search to please let me know! Or if you have a great real estate agent you recommend, please share! Thank you!

Trying to get rid of a countertop ice maker. Can I throw it in the dumpster or am I required to take it to a recycling facility?

It has flammable refrigerant in it, so I don’t think throwing it in the dumpster would be a good idea (or legal). Does anyone know a place where I can take it? It is moldy and I don’t want to bother with cleaning it, I just want it gone.

Brian’s landing has the best Utica riggies, anyone have a close recipe?

Anyone have a tried and true close copycat recipe to the Brian’s landing Utica riggies? Theirs is an old family recipe and it’s NOT a blush sauce. It’s more of a creamy tomato sauce. Best pasta dish I’ve ever had. I don’t eat a lot of pasta but this won me over, would love to learn to make something similar!

Best poutine in the area?

Big fan of poutine but haven’t seem to find an absolutely stellar dish around these parts. I hear hop spot is supposed to be a “must try” but I had it a few years back and was severely underwhelmed. The best I’ve tried is from Bull and bear. Any other recommendations or places that may have gotten by me? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone seen or heard anything from NY-22 House Rep Brandon Williams lately?

He's such a worthless, pathetic little coward and such a pussyassbitch that he's blocked me on all of his social media accounts. Has anyone heard anything as far as what the Carpetbagging white supremacist from Texas has been up to?

Makerspaces / Art Collectives / places where I can use a table saw and store plywood

Hi there, I have a lot of plywood I want to use for a project, but I have no saws, and no car to transport it all. I was wondering if there was any local place where I could access woodworking equipment and store my plywood (preferably for a low membership fee). I heard there was a local Makerspace but it seems to have closed permanently. Any info, or am I SOL?
