I know Windows would be better for VRchat, but the only thing I have is a Macbook Pro. Steam does not work for Mac and I was wondering if there is any other way of being able to play VRchat? Please help me out

im new to laptop gaming. what resolution is best for a 16inch m4 macbook? even if it can handle higher resolutions (which it seems to), do i really want to have them on a screen this size? also some game UI's look to small on those high resolutions. and there's no scaling option. but thats besides the point.

I am more into FPS, Racing, Simulation, or strategy games... but many games like Snowrunner or Destroyer : The UBoat Hunter won't open... or open with blank displays.

Recommendations please...

Its very possible that some of these settings can be reduced further (especially the occlusion and AA) but I don't know which has the largest affect. I originally put everything at max, dropped the resolution a bit and then adjusted the partical effects and ground clutter to my personal preferences. Then messed around with distance (didn't see a difference at 7 so I just left it there).

so im trying to download gshade for sims4,, and I have seen *a lot* of threads and videos and websites- and half of them say gshade on a mac is possible and half say its not.

Ive tried pretty much everything; installing wine/whiskey through MAC Terminal, Crossover from MacKed and MacBB (granted I did try downloading it w/o paying), even Linux emulators and nothing seems to work. Maybe its just bad luck on my end as I have a MacOs Montery 12 and that's considered old at this point so maybe that's why.

In general, do Windows emulators not work well on 'older' macs? Should I just give up?

Im not that tech savy- though I can do some stuff with a detailed step by step guide, I don't think I'm clever enough to figure all this out..

I have Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on my Mac and a pair of Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons (both R and L). When I connect the Joy-Cons to my Mac and start the game, I can move my character using the Joy-Cons, but none of the buttons seem to work.

For example, when the game prompts me to press “RB + LB,” these actions don’t correspond to anything on the Joy-Cons.

Has anyone successfully mapped the Joy-Con buttons to work with Spider-Man Remastered on macOS? Do I need third-party software for button mapping or any specific settings to make this work?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I finally got D4 to load properly in Crossover, but the controller doesn't work. I have an Xbox series X controller, and in the bottle settings the controller is visible and the controls work, but as soon as I launch the game, it doesn't work. Here is a screenshot showing what I see in CrossOver.

I'm not sure why the controller is listed twice. I tried overriding one of the controllers, but it disables both enlist just one controller under the disabled section.

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I should add I'm using the Battle Net version and not Steam.

I tried to play tekken 7 with my friend who also has a macbook today, but since you have to invite using steam overlay, it seemed to be not possible. alt tabbing to steam and hovering over my friends profile to look for invite options didnt work either, as it seems that friend options are not working while having a game open.

I bought mouthwashing on my Mac book mini m1 and didn’t even realize it’s not compatible with Mac :(( so I spent the last idk 4 or something hours trying all these different things like whisky and crossover and parallels to play this game and NOTHING is working 😭 I ran out of steam (pun intended) and gave up for tonight but I REALLY wanna play this game. Does anyone know if you are able to use an Xbox controller with borderlands 2 on a M2 Mac? If so how, what settings? The Xbox controller works great with other games but this one doesn’t seem to allow/have any way to get it to work.

For some context this is both with steam and from the App Store. It’s the newest Xbox controller. It’s connected via Bluetooth to the Mac. I can control the screen in steam before launching the game, but when I click on play it doesn’t do anything and forces me to use the mouse/keyboard.

Could be just me, but I hate using the keyboard/mouse combo and renders the game non playable for me.

I’m currently getting only 30-50fps with DVDX and ESync on. MBP M3 Pro with 18gb ram

It's so sad that I bought GTA definitive edition that is all the DLC with GTA included that is GTA4 and also I bought GTA5 through rockstar games and it sucks that I can't run all of it in any of the CrossOver or such. Some people suggested me to try pirated games, but I have no success installing game through pirated games. I tried fit girl. game. repacks with no success of installing it as it just gets stuck at the beginning of installation. I tried many packs but to no avail. I failed installing even one game on these can anyone of you guys suggest me some good pirated versions that work with M1 Mac? I saw videos of GTA5 and other games running flawlessly on Mac one. Sadly, I cannot find any resources to download one, and also I'm not new to this, CrossOver wine thing, to be honest, I've never Ever Got one game to work through these softwares so anyone could guide me a good version for pirated games would be so nice. I’m looking to try and get and rugby game running, when I click the exe it doesn’t load.

I made a pretty simple macOS shortcut with a keyboard shortcut to quickly adjust my Mac resolution to one that artificially removes the notch from being a factor on the screen. Here is the iCloud LINK if anybody is interested.

I had some problems with some games having important information covered up by the notch on my MacBook 14inch

This solves those issues and doesn't take a lot of setup but does require some terminal knowhow that I tried to document in the shortcut comment. I run the shortcut before launching the affected games.

Would like to know if this is a problem others have or if they have more know to do something better? I like that this is pretty close to a native solution without extra apps (kinda) and is effective.

Clamshell or Open for Thermals? Would a vertical stand in clamshell mode or a regular open stand be better for thermals during intensive tasks like gaming?
