Basically as the title said. We set our sofa out for bulk furniture pickup on our assigned day. We submitted a service request and called the morning of to confirm. They missed the pickup. Called the next business day and they said they would come in the next two days. Well…they didn’t come. Called again and said it would happen the next day. Again…nothing. We live in an HOA area so we’d really like to not get fined for this but Polk county waste management clearly isn’t coming at this point. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this couch?

So I’m looking into renting a dumpster for a household clean out. Are they all that expensive. I haven’t looked into it before but most places want 300 for a 10 yd dumpster. Idk. Just dang.

So originally thought the incident on 540A was just a nasty accident (which is still the case) but I saw multiple people commenting on NextDoor that they had been searching people's cars which got me wondering if this was some sort of hit and run or wanted suspect whom crashed?

I'm curious if this was the case because that's just crazy to think about. I did see cops on Scott Lake but I'm pretty sure that was unrelated.

There is a really bad accident right in front of Scott Lake Elemantary that has westbound? lanes cutting through the parking lot around it. Not sure of the status of eastbound traffic when I went through there they had those lanes shut down and people were starting to turn around.

Scott Lake northbound is backed up from the intersection of Lake Miriam all the way to Fitzgerald.

Southbound Scott Lake is backed up for a little ways to 540A

Carter Road northbound is backed up a little ways too approaching 540A

Lake Miriam heading westbound is backed up all the way from Highlands to Cleveland Heights

South Florida is usual traffic but might be slightly heavier than usual

Lakeland Higjlands heading southbound towards 540A is backed up past George Jenkins

540A as a whole is a mess, please avoid the area

I was driving down 540A about a half hour ago and looked like a pretty bad accident and traffic was completely stopped my direction so I flipped a U-Turn and went back the other way. Hope everyone is okay because as I was heading away two ambulances and a police car passed by. Does anybody know what happened and if everyone is okay? 🙏

I want an actual base-clear paint job with actual prep work and a good warranty. I live in Lakeland Highlands "Unincorporated Polk County" and we lose recycling services next week. I can't stomach letting all of our cardboard and auminum just get dumped in a landfill. Has anyone found a private curbside Recycling Company to replace what should be the counties responsibility.

I have an email from the city that says recycling ends on October 1. You can still continue to use blue bins. I later saw an article saying the same thing but, it said it was yellow and black recycling containers. Does this mean blue bins will be continuing recycling or you can use your blue bins for like yard trash. I'm confused. Thank you.
