So i moved down right after Irma to my mobile home. No mobile home in my area suffered severe damage except for a few carports and some small roof damage, but this storm is supposed to go straight across the state rather than up, should I be more worried than I actually am? Storm shutters are down and no big trees could reach my place if they fell.
I am an Over the Road truck driver. running freight nationally. About six weeks ago I was in Auburndale traveling Eastbound on Magnolia, making a left on Main St, and was cited for being on Main St which the city of Auburndale changed into a no truck street about a year ago. The cop was actually waiting on the far north end several miles away where he pulled me over. The problem is that the westside of the intersection has no "No truck" signage that I saw including before or inside the intersection or as you enter Main St. I am being told there is only proper signage on the south side of that intersection.
Anyways, I attended my initial appearance remotely, expecting an easy dismissal, but the officer refused to dismiss and in my opinion was less than truthful. Case was pushed into mid September. I'd like to pay someone to go take photos of the West, East, and South sides of that intersection. There is a Duncan Donuts on the SW corner. $100?
Thanks if you can help or just for reading.

All, we moved in Auburndale in March 2023. Our April bill was $105 and $130 in May. We only lived around 10 days in April and 12 days in May as we've been traveling. I thought these bills are quite high. We can't imagine how much would it cost when we finally live in the house fulltime. Are these rates normal? Would appreciate any insight. Thank you.
Looking to move to Lakeland or Auburndale. Overwhelmed by the school options. Berkeley elementary looks good, but is it hard to get into? Any other advice for good schools or schools to avoid? Private or public? (Some background... Both parents are professors so a quality education is important. Plan to live/buy somewhere within a 30 minute radius of Florida polytechnic.). Any guidance on safe areas to buy are also appreciated.
Please come back
Has anybody seen the restaurant being built? I thinks its by the same people who built DN in dundee.
Hi there. Me and my wife are considering buying a new home on the north end of Auburndale. We currently live in South Florida down in palm beach. My wife went to Florida Southern and I lived in Orlando for a couple of years.
Cost of living is driving most people like us that grew up here out and we don't want to be surrounded by soley senior citizens anymore. We tried to find something within Lakeland but we couldn't find anything in our price range that didn't need a ton of work. Someone suggested Auburndale to us. We drove through town and loved the vibe. It seems like there are a lot of new communities being built all at once and feels like the town is really growing. Home prices are actually affordable too.
So what's it like living here? When I searched thru reddit all I really see is people saying auburndale sucks without really much more info. Is it because there's not much to do in the immediate area? It doesn't seem that far from lakeland or orlando if we want to go out. What else besides down-town flooding pretty easy?
Thanks for any input.
