Nursing Program Competition

Hello, I am planning on applying for the program in fall of 2025. Next semester I finish my A.A. transfer degree with Daytona State College, as well as the remaining coreqs. If everything goes well I should be applying with just over a 3.8 gpa. I am also a veteran. I have heard many horror stories of people trying to get into these limited access nursing programs and I was curious of just how competitive it really is? I am currently preparing for my TEAS and I'm hoping to do well. I was also curious of what kind of a score above the minimum reqs for PSC I should aim for (obviously do the best I can, but an idea would make me feel better I think). I will be a transfer from DSC and I was not sure if that was going to hurt my chances, but all the information I can get would be appreciated! I reached out to advising via email about this, but all I got was the general run down and minimum requirements for the application. Thank you for any and all insight!

Etrieve application

I submitted my application for the nursing program on Etrieve and the status initially said "In-Progress" and now it says "Ended". Under package history, it says " Received," then "Approved," then "Workflow ended". Does this mean they are still reviewing my application or does it mean it was rejected? I wish it was a little more clear. The word "ended," just doesn't sound right. TIA

Bachelor's Degree in Supervision and Management with a concentration in Healthcare Administration

Is anyone here majoring in Healthcare Administration? The reason I am asking is because my advisor Rene Saco told me to email Felicia Zimmerman the Bachelor's Advisor to help me register for classes before November. However I email Felicia Zimmerman on October 29th for her to help me register for classes and here is what I wrote "Dear Mrs. Felicia,How my name is Sheila Faramarzifar I am taking my Florida Civic Literacy Exam Tomorrow at 9:00am and I graduate on December 4th with my associate's degree in liberal arts. I am majoring in Healthcare administration with a bachelor's degree in Supervision and Management. I need your assist on helping me register for the spring semester. I am so sorry that I am waiting till the last mine to do this . I have been so busy. When are you available to help me register for the spring semester please and thank you?Thank you Sheila" and then here is her response "Hi,

The online bachelor's orientation and readmission application must be completed at www.polk.edu. Although you must finish your degree to be admitted, you can enroll in classes in the spring semester with the goal of earning your degree.

However I already did the Bachelor's Orentation a month ago and I reapplied to the college. She was telling me that I must finish my degree and I can enroll in the classes in the spring semester with the goal of earning my degree. Now I am not sure what to do because I reapplied to the college for spring 2025 and it seems like to doesn't want to help me. Any advice

Applying for nursing program with prior bachelors degree

I have a bachelors degree in health sciences with a gpa of 3.75. Do you think this bachelors degree would add to my competitiveness for being accepted into the nursing program? I take the TEAS in a week and I expect to apply for Spring 2025. I’m hoping I get at least 80s on the teas. Would this be pretty competitive?

This college is a joke

So, like the title of my post, this school is honestly the biggest joke I've ever seen/heard. It initially started at the beginning of this past summer semester, i was re-enrolling after a 3 year pause. There was an issue with the admissions office needing a copy of a transcript for a college i went to for less than a month back in 2017 which had no official transcript because i moved and never finished 1 class. Then, it turned into the bookstore, not wanting to use my pell grant to pay for my books and supplies. I had to drive to the Winter Haven campus for this issue because nobody at lakeland seems to know what they are doing. So now onto my current issues. Per a conversation with the Dean of Students, I needed to submit doctor notes and a petition to change a low grade to a W, as I missed assignments due to an ongoing medical problem (I have cancer) and I would be able to enroll in classes this semester after the Dean removed the hold. Here it is almost 3 weeks later. The Dean keeps denying that he received any of my (3 attempts since this past Thursday) petitions, so I emailed him, admissions, his assistant and my advisor the forms again only to be told by my advisor it'd take 2 months to "potentially approve it" but there's no guarantee I'll even be able to enroll next semester. How is it that an advisor can overrule what the Dean told me? How is it possible the advisor got the attachments in the same email that I sent the Dean, but he never received it? If anyone else has had these issues, let me know so I know I'm not crazy. This school honestly has me wanting to scream. I'm honestly considering leaving polk State and going to HCC.

*small edit: so they all finally acknowledged the emails as of 4pm on Tuesday afternoon but still insisted it will be 60 days before I receive my letter stating what the board has decided at which point the new semester will be starting and my "suspension" will be over but by that point my tuition waiver (aged out of foster care at 18) will no longer be valid. But at this point, I'm one step away from unenrolling and going to Hillsborough Community College. Maybe I'll have better luck with their administrators there.

**2nd update: So the petition is finally approved after several weeks of fighting on this. However, it's now too late to enroll in classes, but it's not like it really matters because I'm still on "academic suspension." Do these petitions even mean anything to anyone?
