So like the title of my post, this school is honestly the biggest joke I've ever seen/heard. It initally started at the beginning of this past summer semester, i was re-enrolling after a 3 year pause. There was an issue with the admissions office needing a copy of a transcript for a college i went to for less than a month back in 2017 which had no official transcript because i moved and never finished 1 class. Then it turned into the bookstore not wanting to use my pell grant to pay for my books and supplies. I had to drive to the winter haven campus for this issue because nobody at lakeland seems to know what they are doing. So now onto my current issues. Per a conversation with the Dean of Students, I needed to submit doctor notes and a petition to change a low grade to a W, as I missed assignments due to an ongoing medical problem (I have cancer) and I would be able to enroll in classes this semester after the Dean removed the hold. Here it is almost 3 weeks later. The Dean keeps denying that he received any of my (3 attempts since this past Thursday) petitions, so I emailed him, admissions, his assistant and my advisor the forms again only to be told by my advisor it'd take 2 months to "potentially approve it" but there's no guarantee I'll even be able to enroll next semester. How is it that an advisor can overrule what the Dean told me? How is it possible the advisor got the attachments in the same email that I sent the Dean but he never received it? If anyone else has had these issues let me know so I know I'm not crazy. This school honestly has me wanting to scream. I'm honestly considering leaving polk state and going to HCC.
*small edit: so they all finally acknowledged the emails as of 4pm on Tuesday afternoon but still insisted it will be 60 days before I receive my letter stating what the board has decided at which point the new semester will be starting and my "suspension" will be over but by that point my tuition waiver (aged out of foster care at 18) will no longer be valid. But at this point, I'm one step away from unenrolling and going to Hillsborough Community college. Maybe I'll have better luck with their administrators there.

Hello!
My name is Haley. I am 22 and a new student starting in the summer at Polk State Winter Haven's campus. I will be doing their Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program. I'm in search of housing in or near the Winter Haven area. I'm looking to move in Around April 29th or the middle of May. Ladies, please message me privately if you are open to talking to see if we would be compatible. Thank you!
Hey guys! I’m a new student to Polk State college, and I’m in my sophomore year. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on where to look for housing, as most of what I could find online is either a long drive from campus, or costs way too much. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place? Thanks!
I’m applying to this program at PSC and want to know what was your experience and feedback. Did you get in? What was your GPA & TEAS scores. I’m trying to keep my options open so I’m applying to 4 different schools.
Helllo! Did anybody in here complete this program. How was it? How much did you get out of it? Is it actually free?
Scheduled to take these two classes online through Polk State next semester. How are these profs and courses? Should I drop both or one? ASAP

Has anyone had experience with receiving credits for military training? I just found out about this last week and haven’t had luck with anyone answering calls or emails. I went to the website and submitted my JST document to the registrar email but don’t really know what to expect. Did anyone have any luck with this? If so, do you mind explaining what this process is and how credits are applied to your degree?
Would it be worth retaking Math & English courses since it’s been 10 years? I stopped to have kids & now that they’re in school, I want to go back.
Hey, I just wanted to know if anyone is in the respiratory care program & if they enjoy it? I’m considering applying to the program just not sure how competitive it is. As well as if they are enjoying it.
Currently considering going through the law enforcement academy. Either here or valencia college as both institutions do training for police agencies (Polk and Orange) that interest me equally. How hard is it in comparison to valencia and what should I expect? Whether I can get sponsorships with either department is irrelevant as I'm eligible for the post 9/11 GI Bill.
For reference, I'm a louisiana resident with a bachelors degree and I'm currently on a stateside tour of duty for the national guard.
Is anyone else getting frustrated trying to get ahold of someone in administration (financial aid, registrar, advisors)?? I've been firing off emails for two weeks and can barely get a response from any of these departments.
