So the tactical comms ability, does the imperial have to declare if he is using it when activating the death trooper and then switch to another death trooper and do their activation and then go back, or can he do his move and attack and then use tactical comms to swap to another group?
Hello fellow imperials.
I'm playing my first time as the Empire, in the Jabba´s realm campaign. Love it, love the game, love being empire and reading the story texts and deploying my guys, but we´re 4 missions in, and we´re 4 missions for the rebels, zero for me. Except the first mission, "Trespassing" (Tilted to the rebels IMO), I´ve given them a hard fight, but I´m thinking they've won enough and it's my turn. (Yeah yeah, I´m the game master, as long as everybody is having fun etc. etc, I´m with you there, but look, I wanna win at least once ok?)
These guys are hilariously experienced at the game (All 3 of them, I shit you not, have been empire, 2 of them for 2, 3 or more campaigns), and I would appreciate it so so much if I could get some pointers, strategies, deployment ideas or anything to help me make it more balanced. You see:
-We have basically every expansion and pack, I think (I don't own the game), with very few exceptions.
-I chose "Hutt mercenaries" as my Imperial class. I bought "Vendetta" (reroll if bounty token) and "Savage motivation" (In melee throw a yellow or blue, do the damage), but I feel I´m not taking advantage of a deck I´ve seen called "So strong" and "Rivaling Nemesis".
-My friends are running Shyla Varad, Lando Calrissian, Fenn Signiss and Seb Orelios. You think that's bad? They won 4 missions in a row, so now they´re armed to the teeth, in gear and in experience. I basically sacrificed a mission to kill Ahsoka Thano (Bitch jumped like 5 unrestricted spaces for a measly strain, we house ruled that if someone dies, they´re out of the game, but the player keeps gear and XP).
-Thats not all. Their first side mission was to get the Alliance rangers, which they won, so now I have to deal with those guys. They´re delightful, If you´re the rebels. Me? not so much. We house ruled so I get half their cost as Threat (they always bring the elites, cost 12 so that´s 6 threat) at the start, and 3 tokens worth 2 threat per round if they´re alive. Their second side mission was to get the reward card for Fenn Signiss ("Veteran prowess" I think, dunno what it does, "can´t wait" to find out), which they also won, so...
-Another house rule we have, and is way too late to change now since we´ve played campaigns with it, is to give the rebels 3 minutes between rounds to strategize. What´s done is done. So what that means is, *you can count on them to always, always make THE most effective, optimal use of every single one of their activations*. There´s no distracting these guys with an enticing target to kill, fill the board so they waste time shooting, hope they forget about the time limit, or anything like that. I´ve read how "parking" a fat group right on top of the console or the door or whatever would be considered a "cheese" strategy, unsportsmanlike , "cheap" or whatever. Us? That´s just standard operative procedure, you don´t, someone jumps over your guys and wins the mission. Simple as that.
-Our next mission is between "Trophy hunting" and "Turf war". I can provide details if anyone is interested. Spoilers for Jabbas Realm obviously.
-Since I´m not winning, I haven´t got much in the way of agenda cards, I dunno. I don't have the game with me, so I can´t tell you what's available. Sorry.
-I have a soft spot for "Dewback rider" and "Clawdite shapeshifter", but I will listen to any group suggestions or opinions.
So that's the skinny. I would appreciate anything you guys can give, from the most basic to tips on defending an objective from ferocious and coordinated attacks, to your favorite "Man I'm going to hell for this" group combos, basic shit I may be forgetting, anything and everything will be much appreciated. Thanks
Especially in the core game there are plenty of allies/villains and even deployment cards that are not worth their cost.
There was at some point a balance patch to nerf royal guards, saboteurs etc, but no cost reduction or buff for cards like Darth Vader, Weiss, Chewie, Han etc.
Later expansions gave both cheaper cards, and higher health pools respectively, or multiple attacks.
Do people homebrew any of these characters like some do for Biv?
Outside of getting them for free, it doesn't seem worth it most of the time to field them.
Is it possible to play this game as a single player?
If so, what resources are available? I played the game like 8+ years ago but haven't touched it since
Hi ! Like others, I try to cook a campaign of 7 missions (because 4 is too short and 12 is too long). I'd like to focus on the narrative, with thematics rewards and guests. There is my plan, what do you think about it ? Is it balanced ? I know I'm not the first to try, so thank you if you have advices !
Pretty straight to the point here. As the imperial player during a campaign, what is your favorite units, cards, strategies, etc. To make the Rebels nervous?
So that my solo campaign is near the end (just the finale left) I'm looking for people to play with on TTS or something similar, (campaign would be preferred but skirmish is okay, as well) would prefer IMP but can do rebels as well. Timezone is GMT +2 (Europe, Berlin time) and im available Fridays and Monday. I'm working in shift. Looking forward to play a few rounds
Instead of doing a forced mission. The players tonight must escape in their ship past an imperial blockade.
I use the same rewards as the forced mission whether they win or lose.
Next mission is drawn in so thematically win or lose I will narrate a large star destroying popping out of hyperspace and tractor beaming their ship.

Hey all, I'm finally playing a campaign with a expansion and I noticed the new rule of:
"During an attack, if a figure ends it's movement such that the attacker no longer has line of sight to the target, the attack misses. If the target of a ( melee attack) ends it's movement such that it is no longer adjacent to the attacker (or within 2 spaces if the attack has Reach) the attack misses."
I'm having a hard time seeing what situation this is applied to?
I originally thought that this is for the situations where a figure will move to gain line of sight to a target then attack the target with a second action. Then spend remaining move points to move out of the way.
But it's seems to me that with the first part that says, during an attack that this rule pertains more to a interrupt move, such as if a figure is being attacked, it may interrupt to move X number of spaces away and if line of sight is lost, the attack then misses?
Any help on this would be appreciated 👏
In the core campaign story mission The Source, there seems to be a course of action available to the Imperial player (partly depending on the class deck) not covered in the mission at all- defeat the captured officer. It's a neutral figure, but wouldn't things that cause indiscriminate, non-optional damage to "all figures" or "all figures and objects" that also applies to your own side (Blast, the Armored Onslaught class deck's Mortar card (which I'll have by that point) still damage him? How would that work?
Second - the Agenda card "Trip Mine" is played after the heroes are deployed. Bad things happen to "each figure on the entrance token." The problem is that the last phrase doesn't seem to have a firm definition. Does that mean only the figure on the space the entrance token is on? Or all the figures that deployed "on the entrance token," even if they're one or even two spaces away from the space containing the token? (Can happen with allies.)
Thanks.
Just over halfway through my campaign.
Next week I'm going to spawn one zombie storm trooper on the end of the map. Who will just walk across the back of the board then despawn.
I will refuse to elaborate on this and it won't be mentioned again.
Finally after the campaign finale is done. I will tell players to come back one last week for the epilogue.
I'm not sure of the exact storyline yet but the epilogue will see them defend against wave after wave of zombies.
I think this will be super fun because it's silly, will look epic after I have printed many many zombie, and give the players a chance to use their fully kitted out characters on a horse of low health miniatures, should be zombies dying left and right.
Some ideas: Maybe zombies will do damage or maybe if a zombie is adjacent to the player at the end of the round that player is wounded/dies.
I will put six crates on the map and divide all the supply cards between the crates. Heroes can interact and grab cards while they remain at each crate.
Love to hear what anyone thinks about this.
Hey everyone,
Bit of a strange request here, but hoping someone can help me.
I recently bought a second hand copy of the base game. Whenever I buy a second hand game, the first thing I do is a full inventory so that I can check if anything is missing. I found that the Luke Skywalker ally pack and Darth Vader villain pack were both missing.
I contacted the seller and he said he has found them and is sending out to me, but because they are not listed in the manual for the game, I’m not sure what exactly is supposed to be included in them. Could someone please let me know the itemised contents of the packs so that I can make sure that everything is there?
Thanks in advance - looking forward to playing this game once everything finally arrives!
Ok. I'm not sure what to do with these guys.
I thought maybe something like:
Action - Full Throttle: move to any valid space within line of sight. Roll one white die. If you roll a dodge the bike is defeated.
Anyone got any ideas for some fun rules for the speeder bikes?
Hello everybody, I'm really confused about what the steps for playing agenda side missions are when playing the core campaign. I purchase the card, then show it to the rebels, then what? Should the rebels discard one secondary mission? Help, please!
This is one of em. At-st just spawned right in
For those of you that are painting your minis, is anyone doing anything out of the ordinary with the bases? … If you’re doing anything with your bases feel free to share here!! Would love to see.
So finished a side mission. The app told me to draw a imperial side mission, I chose to do my own but where does the reward for the imperial mission go or do i note it somewhere? Can't find anything about it.
I'm planning to use this deck for one of my future campaigns (with by then veteran players). I had a question about limitless arsenal, does this work with characters like IG-88 and Weiss where you can choose the dice pool?
Furthermore this deck features personal Flagship, is it better to pick a villain like weiss or vader, or do you prefer to pick a villain you might want to deploy like captain terro, or say the emperor? Ie maximise the dice value vs having a more valuable villain.
Does anybody know how to upload a custom icon in the Character Designer app? I'm going crazy because this seems theoretically easy, like an upload button, but I cannot find it anywhere, not even in the wiki. Or at this stage we can only use the stock icons?
Basically I want Cal Kestis, Quinlan Vos and... myself - Wife gave me a heroforge version of myself I want to use it heh
Hi all! I'm getting Imperial Assault and the sheer amount of expansions and what they contain and do are confusing for someone who's never played before! I'm used to playing boardgames and quite often I'll mix in expansions with first playthroughs if it's what the community recommends and rarely have issues but I just can't tell so far with this game.
Eventually I will be picking up at least some of the expansions, I can already tell I'm going to like the game. But I want advice on if I should get any specific ones before playing for the first time that ehance the experience, or if I should wait and if so when's a good time to start mixing them in?
I'll be playing largely with a full group of rebels and me as the imperial - not so much co-op or skirmish, but I think to learn the game first I'll also play solo. Would appreciate the help and thanks in advance 🫡
Found a local deal on some of the skirmish maps. Are they worth adding? I usually play with the Legends of the Alliance App. Is there a way to use them with the app? Thanks!
Hi, just played Flight of the Freedom Fighter and had a ton of fun. I want to get into Imperial Commander and saw that it supports the ability to make your own campaigns. I was wondering if anybody had done so, or if there's a forum where I could check them out. Thanks!
Picked up this well maintained and organized set (listed below) on marketplace. $70! Never played before. Suggestions on where to start! I may be solo. But I’ll take pointers or suggestions on the best way to dive in.
