Hallo allemaal. Afgelopen jaar is er in de financiële situatie van mij en mijn vriendin veel veranderd. Voor de aankomende belastingaangifte zouden we daarom graag hulp willen hebben van een boekhouder om onze belastingaangifte zo goed mogelijk in te vullen. Nu hebben we helaas ook veel verhalen gehoord van slechte en/of veel te dure boekhouders. Dus wie kan ons een goede boekhouder in de omgeving van Groningen aanraden die een redelijke prijs vraagt? So yesterday i was walking to my appointment in the umcg and i walked past a campervan with a somewhat elder woman trying to park. She was reversing into a tight parking spot and hit the red car behind her. She asked a older man if she could move any further. The man said no and an younger woman also unknown to me said she hit te red car.

I dont know if the older red car has bumper damage but as i was walking on the van passed me. I dont know if she left a note. I have the license plate (it was easy to remember). The car was parked at the oostersingel around umcg northish. It stuck with me, hence i'm making this post. (Figured if it was my car and i had damage i would like to know)

i was wondering if anyone knows an "almost alone desk" in UB? someone told me there's a spot where you're surrounded by shelves and you have no one next to you (that someone also told me to go in the ub on my own and just wander there and take notes if i see a spot for my liking but I'm socially anxious and i think i would just panic the whole time)

My girlfriend and I are moving into one of the apartments in Blok B and today there was a final viewing before we get the keys next month. My girlfriend went today and she saw that the fridges in every apartment are very minuscule, like it should be a tiny hotel fridge.

They partly advertised the apartments as apartments for couples but we feel like this wouldn’t even be big enough for one person. Also the apartments aren’t small. It’s bigger than my current apartment but the fridge is smaller than my freezer in my current apartment.

Any more people who went to the viewing that feel the same way as us?

Zoals de titel aangeeft: op korte termijn heb ik een bezichtiging voor een appartement bij Europapark/Kolenpark. Dat is in principe goed nieuws, maar nu is er automatisch sprake van aansluiting bij Warmtestad.

Nu heb ik een aantal verhalen gelezen waarin men zich toch kritisch uitlaat over de hoge kosten die hiermee gemoeid zijn.

De huurprijs is voor mij acceptabel, maar ik wil niet voor verrassingen komen te staan in de zin van extreem hoge kosten voor het verwarmen van het appartement. Ik lees bijvoorbeeld ook over een bedrag voor vastrecht. Is dat een vast bedrag dat je per jaar sowieso moet betalen? In de advertentie van het appartement wordt subtiel naar de tarieven van Warmtestad verwezen, maar wat dit feitelijk concreet voor mij betekent wordt niet duidelijk.

Misschien dat er Redditers uit Groningen zijn die mij hierover informeren of hun ervaring kunnen delen.

Iedereen erg bedankt voor het reageren! Ik zal tijdens de bezichtiging ook nog eens vragen wat ik gemiddeld kan verwachten voor de (warmte)kosten. Uiteindelijk denk ik dat ik toch wel voor het appartement ga, want meer wooncomfort weegt voor mij zwaarder dan 'iets' meer betalen.

Voor de master Journalistiek ben ik bezig met een artikel over goede voornemens en Dry January in Groningen. Ik ben op zoek naar studenten die hun verhaal willen delen over meedoen aan Dry January of die een poging hebben gedaan, maar waarbij het niet gelukt is. Hi everyone, I sometimes feel a bit guilty leaving my dog at home for a few hours while I’m working. I think it would be great for her to burn off some energy by playing with another dog in the morning, but we rarely run into other dogs. Are there any dog owners with a small or medium-sized dog (who loves playing with others) who’d like to let our dogs play together around 6:45 AM? 😂 I live near Lewenborg, but I don’t mind driving to another location!

Voor de master Journalistiek zijn mijn studiegenoot en ik op zoek naar een student die ouder is dan 50, en die vaak in de collegebanken, werkgroepen of de UB te vinden is in Groningen. We zouden deze persoon graag op beeld een aantal vragen willen stellen, over hoe het is om te studeren op oudere leeftijd. Ben of ken jij vijftigplus en aan het studeren? This question may seem odd considering Groningen University severely advises students to look for accommodation early. But as an international student it’s been hard for being TOO early.

I got my conditional acceptance letter in november for law starting fall 2025 and I started looking for housing this january. I plan on going to a student housing accommodation, like ssh or xior, but I can’t even register or basically do anything because it’s too early. Should I just wait? SSH registration opens in late april, but I thought having time would be an advantage. Other student buildings like the village or XIOR also don’t open for registration until june Or should I just look for rooms in karmernet or other website instead of waiting for student housing accomodations?

This subject stresses me out since it’s a huge concern in Groningen and since I’m very much ahead and have time it could be an advantage to me. But I’m also an international student and I cannot visit houses there for being far away.
