Im a single dutch guy aged 27 who just started living in Utrecht a few months ago. So far my social life has been fine but i would like to get to know more people my age in the city. I always wanted to learn how to salsa dance so the idea came to me to join a lesson, learn the dance and maybe make some friends along the way. It does seems kinda scary joining on my own so i thought maybe some reader might have some experience with the same kind of situation.

Hello, rant incoming 😂 I love dogs and feel they deserve all the love in the world.. but owners. If your dog cannot behave on walks, why are they ALL off leash jumping on people and grabbing people’s belongings and y’all still do nothing but laugh and smile. Ffs I love dogs and would pet them all day, but it’s kinda bad when I have my fishing hooks being perused by your dogs. It’s like people want their dogs to get a hook in the mouth. Please use your brains dear dog owners.

I'm in need of a purchasing agent in Utrecht who can offer last-minute bidding updates. The housing market is tight, and time is running out for my family as we need to vacate our current rental apartment. Renting isn't proving successful either, so our best option seems to be buying. So apparently, last night's all-night hardcore techno noise came from an illegal rave, where the police didn't want to intervene.

The protesters had four demands, one of which (quoting the article):

Zo willen de demonstranten permanente ruimtes voor vrijplaatsen in de stad, die zichtbaar zijn in Utrecht en gedereguleerd worden.

The protestors want permanent locations for free zones in the city, which are visible in Utrecht and are deregulated.

If granted, it sounds like people could expect last night's horrible noise multiple nights a year, without any legal means of intervention...

Do those protesters not realise that the all night party wasn't exactly an advertisement for their demands? Lol

How would you feel about such free zones (and where do you think would be a suitable place for it)?

I am really not feeling like having to put on clothes to wander the streets in the middle of the night to go and cut some powerlines. Because this is just getting ridiculous annoying at this time in the night.

And I even remembered to take a melatonin tonight to try and fix my sleeping schedule. And it is definitely not working with this going on.

I just wanted one night of good sleep. Just one...!

Ik liep een aantal jaar geleden langs de Oudegracht (net noord van de Neude), en daar stond een uitspraak op de muur die me vagelijk is bijgebleven, en af en toe denk ik er weer aan als het in andere context toepasselijk lijkt. Ik kan het nu helaas niet meer terugvinden (ook op Google Streetview niet).

Het ging over de UIT-week (of een introductietijd van een vereniging?), en kwam erop neer dat alles ieder jaar hetzelfde is, dus ieder jaar opnieuw bedacht moet worden.

Ik denk dat het pand waar het op stond een dispuutshuis of een pand van een vereniging was? Kan iemand die het herkent het aanvullen of me aan het letterlijke citaat helpen?

Hoi, een vriendin van mij heeft een kamer op het oog in Transwijk. Nou ben ik daar zelf niet vaak dus vroeg ik me af of iemand hier daar ervaring of tips voor heeft. Alvast bedankt luitjes :))

Hallo iedereen! Ik ben Gijs, een 16-jarige basgitarist op zoek naar medemuzikanten om samen regelmatig op te treden en eigen nummers te schrijven. Ik ben gevestigd in Utrecht en heb al vijf jaar ervaring op mijn instrument. Ik heb al op meerdere podia gestaan, waaronder Tivoli Vredenburg!

Mijn muzieksmaak varieert van 90s en 00s rock, zoals Sting, RHCP en Skunk Anansie, tot funk, jazz en vele andere genres. Ik ben bereid om minimaal één keer per week te repeteren en op te treden.

Hallo, ik doe momenteel 3x per week aan krachttraining en loop een paar keer per week hard. Ik zou graag in staat willen zijn om mezelf te kunnen verdedigen, dus vraag me af waar in Utrecht ik goed bjj of boksen kan beoefenen. Het liefst wil ik niet sparren (dus klappen op het gezicht krijgen), bij BJJ is dit iets makkelijker volgens mij omdat het niet gericht is op klappen tegen het hoofd? Voor de ervaringsdeskundigen, hoe hard gaat sparren bij BJJ eraan toe? Ik heb namelijk ook wat aan mijn gezicht waardoor het super gevoelig is; het liefst wil ik hiermee al het contact vermijden, vandaar dat ik niet wil sparren. Ik wil wel blijven hardlopen/kracht trainen, zou 1x per week een vechtsport beoefenen voldoende zijn om er beter in te worden (of 2 lessen achterelkaar te nemen)?
