$1,050 a good price in 2025?

Just bought a black desert eagle in 44 mag. I believe it’s the newest model, serial number 41200688. Will be closer to 1200 after fees. But that still seems like a good price. What do you deagle folk have to say about it?

XIX vs VII

Am I being dumb for not wanting the XIX because of the rail on top? I don’t really care about being able to switch calibers, but reliability wise, are they both the same? If so I’d prolly prefer the VII since the rail kinda bothers me. Also VII id have to buy used vs brand new XIX

.429 DE reloading

.429 DE barrel owner. It’s quite a cartridge, but unfortunately no one ever has any ammo for it. Even worse, there is no published reloading data, and this requires using the .440 Cor-Bon info to be able to shoot the round at all. I don’t like using powders like Winchester 296 and H110 due to them not burning as clean. Has anyone found any workarounds or have any recommendations? I’m hesitant to start developing my own loads with other powders due to the .429’s case dimensions.

Steel Targets?

Anyone know any good recommendations for steel targets to shoot with 50ae? Mainly concerned about thickness overall, but if you have recommendations for brands/companies that would be appreciated as well!

Range fans

I made a rare trip to fire my .44 Desert Eagle indoors today. Unlike most times, there were a fair number of people there. Most of them had never seen a Desert Eagle. After a few magazines, I had people wanting to come up and look at it, talk about it…so basically we had show and tell. I did bring out my .50 AE and some of my rarer guns for anyone that wanted to hold one. One guy was there with his son who told him he’d probably never see one again. I enjoyed getting to share such an iconic gun with folks who had only ever seen it in movies or video games.

Anyone else have stories like that? Especially if anyone had a reaction when you fired a round the first time; I got told they could feel the concussion out in the store front.

Looking for answerss from anyone in California who knows

I own a .50AE DE, when I purchased it I also got the .44 barrel. In a few months I have to move to California because of work and I have been told that I will have to sell the DE because it is not legal to own a .50AE in Cali. Is this true? I have searched online and can't find anything that says it is illegal. I found some stuff saying you can't buy .50AE that you have to buy the .44 DE and then you can buy the .50AE barrel. I also found some infor on how to register my firearms in Cali but nothing on if the DE .50AE is lega to bring in from another state. Any help would be awesome because I don't know where else to look. Thanks!

Shooting a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle with an integrated muzzle brake at an indoor range

I've been wanting a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle with integral muzzle brake on and off for about a year now. The only thing stopping me from getting one is concern is that the only ranges near me that don't require a long drive are indoor ones. Should I be worried about it causing damage to the range's equipment?

Looking to buy a Desert Eagle

What's the most dependable model I should get? Should I look for a used one ? Is the slide action hard for women? What's the best ammo for a .50 action express?
