This subreddit if for those of us who ride hard in the city. Things that will not be tolerated here are:
Complaining about running lights
Hating on unauthorized racing
Hating on fixies (or any other choice of bike, brakes or not)
Hating on street racing and it's culture
Any of this activity will result in a ban.

i'm new to cycling in my city and would like some tips/advice from experienced cyclists on rules and etiquette. I've already formed my own as a pedestrian and cyclist to work, but would like to know how I can make it easier on people (pedestrians, cars, myself)
Hello everyone! I am a postgraduate student on Digital Design and Branding. Following the recent crash of Evans Cycles and its acquisition from Sport Direct, I am conducting a research regarding Evans Cycles branding and the possible cause of its problems. The problem is that I am an international student and I don't know that many cyclists in the UK right now. I would be super grateful if you took the survey on Evans Cycles and even more grateful if you forwarded to any UK Cyclists you know. It only takes 3 minutes. Thank you anyway.
Best regards,
a fellow cyclist
Hey guys!
I am Nilesh, Co-founder of Calamus Electric Bikes. We are a young team of passionate electric bike enthusiasts, engineers and designers trying to build the smart affordable premium e-bike. We want to build a bike that is for the people, listening to the problems and requirements absent in the current offerings in the market. We have created a short survey to understand your views for the same.
It's my humble request to every member here to fill the survey and express your views on the same.
Thank you!

Hi all, my name is Quoc and I'm the designer/founder for Quoc cycling shoes. I just recently discovered /r/UrbanCycling and think it's really cool. I started my company with City Cycling shoes that's SPD compatible. My goal was to offer the commuters/city/urban cyclists who need a pair of high quality normal/casual looking shoes that can last. However, since this is a very niche market, it's quite challenging to have enough demand. So long story short, I'm here to humbly listen/gather your opinions on what you would wear for cycling in the city? your needs? your wishes? your worries? your style preference? any feedback welcome. Thanks everyone! Quoc
HI there, i'm thinking of putting together a project where urban cyclists in cities around the world upload and share their edited cycle routes with the aim to inspire more people to cycle. Would anyone be interested in participating.
I've been a bike commuter for several years now. At first, I wore traditional bib shorts under my work clothes and I changed clothes when I arrived to the office, then again before heading home.
Then about a year ago I decided to design the perfect casual bike shorts for cycling to the pub or for your daily commute. The result has been the development of the "The Pub Crawler." But we need your help to make these premium bike shorts a reality on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2124533438/premium-bike-shorts-from-urban-cycling-apparel?ref=b65x6o
I'm about to start a new job and will be cycling to work. For this job, I need to look a little more professional. I'm interested in a good bag for cycling that's minimalist in design, can hold a change of clothes and lunch, preferably waterproof or water-resistant. My ride won't be super long, but comfort will factor in.
I really like the look of Brooks Pickwick Day Pack, but I'm also looking at zipped ones like the North Face Kabyte or Isabella.
Any thoughts or favorites?
