Was looking at the absolute 3.0 bibs and the Carrera jerseys for summer here and was keen on your thoughts as I haven't heard too much about them and didn't how they compare.
I was also just curious about Gobik as I just heard about them and only recently learned they do the apparel for UAE team Emirates etc. I was quite surprised and curious about the lack of reviews and feedback, and all-round lack of much discussion on gobik on the forum as well. As it seems we discuss maap, Rapha, assos and other brands a bunch and hence I enjoy reviewing the threads prior to any purchase.
Anyone experience with the new MAAP Alt_Road Cargo Bib 2.0?
Is it better than the first version?
These bibs were brand new and I used only twice. These are the winter version in size S. I also have 2 short version (GT and GTS) that I’ve used for 4000 km and they are perfect (size M). Can anyone help me?
P.S. this is the second pair of long bibs that has this problem. I don’t know why. The saddle I use is the same on both bikes (Selle Italia SLR shortfit 145mm)
Hi everyone,
Is it acceptable to join group rides hosted by clothing brands if I don't have their winter gear for instance, or prefer wearing clothes from other brands? I have never joined such a group ride before and I want to make sure I respect the group and the event.
Thanks for your input
People talk highly of Spexcel and YKYWB. I see DAREVIE store has a 98% success score and high ratings for their items.
Curious to hear people's feedback.
Just bought some winter stuff from OUAR.cc in the Black Friday sale. Thermal jersey in "country", like a golden brown, tights in rich burgundy, and neckwarmer in ruby, plus they threw in a free pair of socks. Total of £209 with free delivery. Being in the UK, I should have considered import duties, so I got whacked for an additional £70 on delivery, but that's my fault. I did check out my return options, but it would have cost me up to £76 to do that!
It feels top quality, with the jersey feeling very similar to my Maap thermal jersey, albeit the back isn't dropped so it feels a little short in the torso, but the arms are nice and long. The neck warmer is lovely, and might actually be too warm, in which case I'll use it as a hat under my helmet. The tights seem to run slightly larger than Castelli, maybe by half a size or so. It's my Christmas gift from my wife, so I can't comment on how it feels to ride in yet.
For reference, I'm 180cm, 80kg, 94cm chest, 81cm waist. Jersey and tights are both size medium and feel like a perfect fit (jersey wrinkles are because I had a t-shirt on underneath just for trying on).
Even with the nasty suprise import tax, it's a lot less than the Maap equivalent I would have liked.
Oh, and just an observation: Returning to OUAR would have got me a refund, minus shipping both ways and import duty back into Spain. I noticed though, that in the small print for another Spanish brand (Rocacorba Girona), if you refuse to pay the import taxes and the courier returns it, you don't even get the purchase price back!
Edit: Can't get the pic to upload, sorry.
So now with all the sales I think it is a good time to get me a new bibs. My current one are Monton and are at last stand. I have scouted through this sub and consensus is that Assos makes the Goat. But none of they're bibs have back pockets. The problem is that I need back pockets as I ride MTB and need a lot of storage for phone, repair kit etc. (And jersey storage is not enough) I have also checked out the Castelli and Vaude (some are on sale at Zalando)
Please hit me up with your recommendations. I am willing to spend enough if needed but under 100€ would be great (l am from EU).
I’m Christmas shopping for a family member who just got into cycling, looking for advice on what would be a good gift for a beginner!
Got a smartwool merino base layer and this cycling jacket off Amazon but maybe a mile into my ride I noticed my back starting to sweat. Not sure what to wear in this 45 degree F weather.

Does anyone use this combo and where do you store the sutro on the helmet ?
I just wanted everyone's opinion, new rider first kit and wanting more kits to rotate through. This is the Rapha Core bib and jersey, both size medium, suggested by the local Trek shop employee. Not sure if this fits me or if I should go a size up. Also looking at other brands such as Pedal Mafiia, attacius, velocio, assos, and Cafe du cycliste because of BF deals. Not a lot of local bike shops offer a variety of products where I live other than Rapha and I've seen a Reddit post from years ago in this forum where these names kept popping up. Im 5'7, 215 would like to be able to fit into medium more comfortably in the future, which is why I joined this amazing community, any help would be appreciated!
Without considering comfort and price, in your opinion, what are the most beautiful road cycling shoes available right now?
Hi all, I’m looking for a solid winter cycling jacket that can handle the 0-20 degree temp range. We are riding through winter!
Hoping for wind proof and insulated at a minimum. Waterproof is good too. Prefer earth tones /natural colors like evergreen, clay, rust, if possible. Avoiding black.
Weigh 190lbs 36 waist 42 hip
Assos recommend medium- little Tight on ballsack and shaft . What size would be more realistic? Athletic build
I am wondering if its worth contacting assos to have small repairs on my bibs. I have notices my winter bib mille c2 tights have ripped or unsewn along the seam on both legs. probably when i put them on the thread just came undone.
is it worth sending a request to assos?
they were bought a bit over one, perhaps 2 years ago. and i just notice this this year. i don't have the ticket.
maybe i should go to any seamstress instead of trying to reach assos?
I recently bought a medium louis garneau jersey. Is it the right size for me or should I size down?
Anyone using a balaclava or mask during the winter? I have a balaclava but what I don't like about it is my breath condenses on the fabric and it gets moist and cold. Is anyone using a mask that keeps their face warm but still evacuates moisture?
Hello,
I am looking for photocromic lenses as a Christmas gift for myself. I really like Tifosis (e.g. Rain or Sledge Lite) but the price is horrific compared to how much they cost in the US (US prices would be around 50 USD, it is at least 80-100 EURs).
I would be happy to have something caught on a BF deal, not necessarily a Tifosi, but something comparable for a price of 50-100 EUR max. I heard Tifosis are not as good as Oakleys for example but in europe the price range is quite similar.
I am gravel cyclist, not looking for wayfarer type lenses, more into the bug look. Photocromic is crucial as I often cycle in shade / sunset.
Thanks!
I absolutely love the Hors Categorie Bib Shorts I got from them in the past so hoping the tights are just as good. The base layer looked interesting, never had something like this before so idk if it’s a gimmick/the use. Also I hope the jersey isn’t too thin, thinking of using in 40-60 Fahrenheit weather.
Just received a short sleeve Gabba R and it's considerably tighter than the regular Gabba
Are people sizing up in these?
Why can't brands be consistent with sizing?
I'm a road cyclist in washington state where it is often rainy, usually not that windy (Unless a bomb cyclone comes) and between 30 and 50 degrees for most of the winter. I was looking at getting better cold weather clothing from Pactimo, specifically:
I already have leg warmers to go with the shorts just in case, but I am wondering which would be a better buy for winder road cycling?
guys what do you think about siroko brand? looks a bit like dope snow...
Hi there, do you know any similar 2in1 cycling jackets for women fo cold temperatures? Google didn't really help. I know the Alpha RoS Doppio is probably the gold standard, but I just don't really like the design.. Thanks a lot in advance!
