2 weeks ago I bought a Castelli Espresso bibs, but the leg grippers started to peel off right from the start. I went through the warranty and got a replacement bibs, only for the same problem to happen right away. My question is, I really like these bibs except this problem. Can I fix it or can I go to a tailor and have it good as new again? Or should I just get a refund?
I know I sound crazy. I know this is gonna end up on BCJ or something but now that it’s getting colder I found myself having to use gloves. I notice I just “feel” slower when wearing them vs no gloves.
Perfect example was today, had them on, felt just so encumbered, took them off half way, felt faster, hands got cold again and put them on and felt slower again.
Anyone else feel this way?
Additionally I would love recommendations for cold weather full finger gloves that are sleek and fitted. It doesn’t get astonishingly cold here so don’t need anything too bulky and overly warm.
My first “nice” high end kit were some le col hors categorie bibs I got for like $150 or something on sale. These bibs are awesome and fit me great, however I don’t want to spend that much if I can avoid it. Since then I’ve bought from AliExpress with meh results, however recently I was curious what the used market is like for the high end brands like Rapha and I was mind fked with how much cheaper these brands are used vs new.
I just got my order in from this one website I legit checked, I felt better about them knowing it’s a US company. I ordered the following rapha items: classic bib shorts for $36 vs $260 new, Long sleeve training jersey for $28 vs $100+ new, and classic winter tights for $136 vs $325 new. Every single item in my order was “excellent” condition when I ordered them, upon reviewing them they feel and look brand new except for a tiny fray right above the crotch on the winter tights. I saved around $500 on just these 3 items, so why aren’t more people doing it?
What do you think of the long thermal jerseys and the arm covers from castelli? Will they keep me warm at around 10°C if worn separated/together? And lastly, how do they fit?
Thanks for your answers!
I like it. It’s different and slightly psychedelic.
Got to admit it’s a perfect fit
Le Col's new winter jacket—the Pro Insulated Jacket—takes a different approach to winter than I've seen before. The outer shell is Pertex Quantum Air, which looks unusually thin and breathable for a weather-resistant textile (but I wonder if it's a noisy fabric to wear❓). It seems much thinner than I'd expect for winter wear, but with Polartec Alpha in selected locations (the upper chest, etc.).
It looks like a different approach to Castelli's venerable Perfetto. What do you think?

Can you suggest a good cycle for short-distance commuting and fitness within a budget of ₹30,000? I’ve looked around a bit, and it seems like a hybrid cycle would be best for my needs, but with so many brands and models out there, I’m a bit confused about what to choose.
FYI: Rapha changed the merino blend in their base layers. I’m not sure when this went into effect. Used to 100% but not anymore. The enshittification is underway.
Siroko might not be the most popular brand on here. But I like the value and minimal branding. The only thing I hate is their useless sizing tool. Even if I change my height to over 2 M it still says I should buy a medium. Only changing weight seems to affect the size. So I hope you guys can give some advice.
I'm 1m87 and skinny legs +-70 kg. I bought a BX Envalira in M before from them. It fits nicely, except its to short at the legs.
What size would you recommend for SRX Pro Supreme? Go up a size to L or even XL? Does sizing impact length or mostly waist/ tightness?
What brand makes the comfiest bib/chamois? I’ve been using Siroko and I like the brand but I am ready to see what else is out there for endurance ride comfort! Thanks in advance!
I have a fairly broad shoulders and large arms for my height, it feels like most of the cycling stuff that I get in size medium pinches me around the shoulders and armpits, while the size large stuff is too big and long around the mid section.
This hasn't been a major issue in the spring and summer where I'm wearing lighter weight clothing. But in the winter the heavier weight stuff tends to bunch around my armpits and shoulders.
Does anybody have any recommendations for heavier weight cycling apparel that gives a little bit more room up top?
Anyone has any deals or offers for cycling gear such as Pas Normal Studios, Rapha, Assos, Maap, etc?
Thanks!
Hi, I am seeking some expertise from anyone who owns MAAP Atoms jacket. I'm 177 cm, 63-65kg. Chest 91cm, waist 77cm-ish, hip 92cm. I was thinking about getting Women's Atmos Jacket size medium due to the sale available I my region, and also because men's sizes for small are sold out. I wonder if women's medium size would be okay to wear.
I also was also contemplating of getting atmos jacket for men's medium. I owe ascend pro rain jacket in medium when I used to be 71kg and currently 63kgi do wear them but the ascend pro rain jacket I wear has longer sleeves hiding half of my palms, broader shoulders (2cm ish bigger) and belly area has more room. I wear them during cold winter season especially in windy mountain ride. The big sizing is ok, as I could wear extra layer of gilet or thin puff vest but still no snuggly fit and not packable. I struggle in this case getting women's medium would be safe choice or men's medium would be ok. Because I know Sympatex material is not stretchable will Pertex material make it stretchable and snug fit?
Any info would be appreciated.
Got addicted to gravel cycling last year which has been a slippery slope to road cycling and now I’m wearing Lycra.
I’m out of Montana and want to be able to ride in the shoulder seasons around winter where roads are dry but temps can vary from 20degF to 50degF (-6C to 15C).
Would the assos winter GTO C2 tights be too warm for the upper end of those temps? Or what range of temps would they be good for ?
After reading a lot about the GTO chamis I think that’s perfect for what I’m after (50-100 mile rides) but I’d want to get my moneys worth and be able to use them outside a short 1 month window while the temps change.
I know Lake has a few and Sidi Megas are good for wider, higher volume feet but, what are your faves for mountain/gravel riding?
Heading to London next week and would love to go by a cycling shop that has some unique or London-specific cycling kit. Something that I wouldn’t be able to find in the US - any tips? I was told Via in King’s Cross is a good place to start.
have seen some post that looks like people are 'ashamed' for paying $300 for assos or whatver brand?
if so? why? is not like you stole or did something morally incorrect or a crime by purchasing it.
I ride with my friends and found Gobik's design and quality are very solid. Now I want to customize my own jerseys and bibs. I want to know what's the minimum amount and how's the price?
I’m 5’2”, 60kgs and wearing a MAAP emblem pro hex jersey in XS mens and i’m having an issue on what would be the best size for me to have a perfect fit. Upon wearing, it doesn’t lay flat on my body has these extra creases probably due to the jersey is long for me. Already tried women’s small and it has the same size and fit as men’s xs. Should I go xs on women’s? or just accept that maap has no good sizes for short men? 😞
Hi everyone can anyone tell me how the fit between maap training and evade jerseys differs? I currently own a maap long sleeve thermal jersey in medium which fits tight but perfect as you can see. Should I size up for the evade line?
