A subreddit dedicated to the development of mods and custom content for Cities: Skylines and Cities: Skylines II, the city-builder games from Colossal Order.
Support for the old.reddit stylesheet is currently "best effort" as despite our valiant attempts, changes by Reddit are causing things to break or behave inconsistently.

Hi all,
I'm new to Blender but here is what I've been able to do so far:
And now I'm struggling with the UV Mapping part.
I've been able to map some of my faces to parts of my texture file to make the windows, as you can see.
But I'm blocked on a very stupid point for which I'm sure you'll easily be able to tell me what to do.
My UV Map so far is as follows :
And I want to put tiles on every floor (and every floor doesn't have the same shape...) :
Of course this is not going to work well.
From what I can see in other assets of the game, people do like this :
They triangulate the faces to then assign them to some parts of the texture, in a repeatable manner.
But this seems soooo tedious and complicated to do, I suppose there is some way to achieve this with some kind of tool ?
I have also seen some people using some nodes in Blender but I'm not sure I can use this for Cities: Skylines, as I really need to provide the UV maps (diffuse, alpha, etc.).
Many thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid question (I've watched tutorials, searched Google and asked ChatGPT, I don't succeed so far)
Will there ever be one release for CS:II to make code modding easier?
Heyo,
so my issue is I have quite a few lines that run like 60 Real-Time-mod minutes and more per direction. I want my vehicles to spawn at e.g. both endpoints of the line so stations don't overcrowd due to low frequency while I have far to many vehicles on the route.
I already use a bunch of mods such as improved public transport 2 and real time 2
The high density residential buildings just dont seem big enough. Also is there a mod to that zoning is not just squares so that buildings actually fill in gaps and dont just leave big open spaces
Hello,
Recently I got a friend of mine to play cities skylines. However we encountered a problem with contrast (he’s blind) particularly when building roads or placing down objects.
He has a hard time seeing the guidelines for roads and the noise/pollution/etc radius.
Is there a mod that can help with this?
Almost done publishing a texture map pack with the ModPublisher executable, except at the end it says "no social profile exists for the account". Filled in lots of account fields, linked up with LinkedIn, Steam and Twitch in my Paradox account but it keeps nagging about this. Which setting is it referring to?
Animated Displays Mod for Busses (Not Stations!)
Hello Community! Since I am playing Cities: Skylines 1, I am looking for an option to show the destination on driving buses or trams, similar to the station displays mod. I noticed a mod for station displays that allows customization of the bus or tram line name and was extremely happy to see it.
However, does something similar exist for actual buses, trams, or metro vehicles, so that the destination is displayed dynamically on the vehicles themselves? Ideally, I’m looking for a solution without converting the vehicles into PO (Procedural Objects). Here is the station display mod I’m referring is the "Animated Station Display" on Steam.
If such a mod exists, or if someone has a workaround or idea, I would be incredibly grateful! Thanks in advance!
It was one of my favorite mods for CS1 and I was absolutely certain it'd be one of the first mods I'd get for CS2 but it's been over a year and still nothing. Do you know if there's anyone working on such a mod?
Hi! I'm looking for a CS2 successor mod to Toggle It! from CS1, specifically to hide the massive district names that cover the city. Any ideas?
Hi,
This might be a very stupid question but since I am a total noob when it comes to asset creation I´ve wanted to ask this for a while. I plan to start creating own assets for CS II and am finally able to afford a PC that runs Blender smoothly so I wanted to ask if there is already stuff that can be done towards asset creation before the Paradox mod platform supports it. Such as creating buildings in Blender, saving them for later and then uploading them to the game as soon as Paradox makes it possible to do so.
I'm creating a dutch grain mill in Blender.
It does work in blender, the rotating wicks :-)
But it doesn't rotate when I upload the wavefont object it into the asset editor.
The wicks are just hanging solid on the building.
The FBX and DAE file doesn't show the rotating wing at all (probably because it is still excisting from 2 objects (the tower and the rotating blades). Merging the building and wicks together make the whole building rotate with the wicks, so that's not an option.
How can I make this work?
I'm not very good at making maps and I would love to see a map based on Petoskey that includes Harbor Springs. Coords are 45.370643 N, -84.957355 W.
Its so annoying to close them
Hey, it's only a small addition I'm looking for. I like to use 4 lane roads for my tram lines, since I think having the trams in the middle on their own lane is better for traffic than the 6 lane variation, where they share a lane with cars. Unfortunately, if I want to add monorails to the road I have to use the 6 lane monorail + tram roads, since no 4 lane variation exists.
Anyone know any mods that add this?
im new to city skylines and i have found out what network anarchy was through youtube videos, but cant seem to find an updated one (the official mod is outdated). are there any mods that work like network anarchy that i could use?
So after this update, it says Network skins is no longer compatible. However, I still want to remove street arrows, and not just vanilla ones. Does anyone have any alternatives to Network Skins?
Thanks
Hi,
In Blender, I have balconies that have a single face orientation (outwards), therefore the glasses can't be seen from the inside.
What is the best and least triangle consuming solution to achieve this ?
So far, I've come to duplicate those faces, flip them, and downscale them by factor 0.99...
But maybe that's not ideal.
I am not sure yet that a double-sided material exists in Cities: Skylines ? And if yes, how to achieve this in Blender ?
Thanks
Title explains the issue. I did not realize you could not use a network on a growable before spending an hour creating a convincing 4x4 Generic Industry asset in the form of a scrapyard. Opening the editor gives the following error:
Custom Assets: Scrapyard.Scrapyard_Data: Private building cannot include roads or other net types [BrokenAssetException]
The real issue is that I cannot even load the asset in the editor to remove the industry fence. Is there any way to salvage this? Or am I doomed to painstakingly recreate it from memory and with the only screenshot I took of it before saving it?
Hi,
In Blender, I have an object as follows :
And it is meant to be duplicated (and slightly transformed) 30 times to make 30 floors of a building, thanks to a Python script.
How can I easily reduce its triangle count without spending hours and hours of handling little details ?
Maybe I can also do it on the initial objet before Modifiers, which is as follows :
Thanks in advance for your answers !
Hi everyone,
I'm new to CS modding and 3D modelling in general. I'm a computer science engineer, but 3D modelling is not really part of my skills.
As you can see in the screenshot below, I have designed a purposely very basic version of a house in Blender :
I have followed the steps described in this Youtube tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSqgZjPfTok
But unfortunately, when it comes to import it in the game, this is what I get :
It just doesn't load.
I have put MaisonMentonnaise.fbx and MaisonMentonnaise_d.png in my CS:1 Import folder.
There must be something I missed somewhere.
Can you help me find out what it is ?
Thanks in advance !
No road info panel when you build road and select starting tiles are not possible. Is there any mod or any kind of developer mode magic with these (especially the first) can be solved? Or only the hope and waiting for an update?
Kinda what it says on the tin, but I don't mean just a massive ploppable. I was wondering if there was a mod out there that added platform structures that could be built at different elevations (with pillar support and over each other)/rotations that you could then build roads on and zone. Anything like that, or is it possible?
Beyond that, would anyone want that? I don't have the still for it I don't think, but maybe someone might see this and run with it.
I posted the above to CitiesSkylines2 as well, but figured it'd fit in here better probably. It's early and I haven't had coffee yet lol.
trying to place specific residential buildings in the map editor. when i play the map, it says those buildings aren't zoned and are therefore condemned. is there any way to zone for those buildings in the map editor? trying to create a neat little (starting) high density soviet inspired neighborhood- without cheats or unlocks. i’ve looked so hard but can’t find it…
I've seen several custom zone mods but I don't see a guide anywhere. How do I make a custom zone?
