Moving. Help!

Hey all! My husband and I are colorado born and raised, BUT we have alwayssssss lived and worked on the eastern plains. My husband just took a new job in Boulder, and we are debating which town/subdivision might be best for us! I definitely don't think we'll be able to afford to live in the town of Boulder itself, so we've been looking at the little towns surrounding it. Here is what are our big considerations. We have 3 young children, so we want to be in an area where they can attend a genuinely amazing school since we will be coming from a small town with a lot of 1 on 1 time with teachers, so it will be a huge change for them. So we're looking for some of the highest rated schools in the surrounding areas. Safety and crime rates. Again, since we have young girls, we want to be somewhere relatively safe (i know in our world that's funny Imao) Since my husband will be working in Boulder, we also want to stay within a 30 minute drive give or take. My step daughter also lives with her mom during the week in Lakewood (which is a little too far from Boulder for us to probably live there) so we're hopefully wanting something in that direction ish so we can be between his job and his daughter if possible. Some of the options we were looking into were Louisville, superior, broomfield, Westminster, and Arvada. MAYBE northglenn or Thornton if there's nothing closer or the benefits of being there are just that much better. Also open to any other areas you'd suggest! What would you guys suggest! Where are the best schools? Safest areas? Best communities? Nearby Boulder but still somewhat close to Lakewood? Affordable? Still fun things to do?

Small Appliance Repair

Hey folks! I am losing my ever loving mind over this.

I have a 1970s baby blue box fan. It’s gorgeous. It needs to be rewired. I have called like 10 appliance repair places and they only work on big appliances like a fridge or a dishwasher or a ceiling fan. I am pulling my hair out because I can’t understand why Google returns 0 results for small appliance repair???????

Please. I need recommendations.

If you bought a lotto ticket at King Soopers on March 23, check it! No one is claiming it, and it's work $500,000.

Speeding Ticket Question

I got my first speeding ticket in 20 years last week for 15 over. I know, I screwed up, I was late for a doctors appt. Anyways, I know this is going to increase my already overly expensive insurance. Curious if anyone has shown up on their court date and if the DA will knock it down a few mph to help, or if I’m better off just paying it asap to get 2 points instead of 4 on my record. Note that I have a pretty clean driving record in that I haven’t gotten any tickets in at least 20 years, and can’t recall any wrecks for at least the last 10-15 years.

Anybody here request a duplicate title for your vehicle? If I go in person, do I get the duplicate that day? If I do it online, how soon do I get it? I can’t find any of this info online

TW: Just passed a car accident crime scene on Ward - second fatal motorcycle accident in two weeks?

Just moved here and have never lived somewhere with so many motorcycles on the road. I don't have much info on either accidents - just wanted to ask if this is normal and how are we helping each other stay safe on the roads?

My toddler is obsessed so I feel like I've become much more aware of them - he has also become my back seat helmet police. So worth mentioning that even two year olds notice when you aren't wearing a helmet.

Calling dog/house sitters

I'm looking to get pricing for 7 days of dog and house sitting. Our dogs are not trained, and bark a lot. They're kind of special needs. We have four Newfies all over 100lbs. One gets medicine twice a day, and is a little weird about going in and out of doors and will not walk on surfaces that don't have carpet. All four of them however, have major separation issues, and if they do not have line of sight to a person at all times they will start barking and howling until they see another person(literally constant barking and howling, for HOURS if left unattended for that long). So they can not be left alone. We've had several noise complaints from the neighbors already. We also feed them cooked meat with their meals, so you may have to cook/prepare that one or two times throughout the week. You would be responsible for either your own groceries or food orders.

Total responsibilities: 24hr watch. You would have to be here at the house for the ENTIRE week. Leaving the house would mean that dogs bark and then we get fined with another noise complaint. Keeping the dogs from barking while outside Watering the garden twice a day(unless it rains) Watering house plants once a day Feeding the dogs twice a day and keeping up with their meds/supplements Bringing in the mail

Place to fly a kite

I bought a beautiful dragon kite to fly with my son. Is there somewhere to drive or even hike 1-2 miles to that is consistently windy?? How do you spontaneously fly kites after school without a weather report?

Road work on Indiana

Does anyone know details of what road work they are doing on Indiana right now, between 86th and co128? I can't find any information about the project online, which is unusual, and some of the delays in the area have been quite bad

Hockey Players in Arvada?

Does anyone play pick up hockey in the Arvada area?

This Saturday the Boulder Roller Hockey Club is hosting a charity outdoor inline hockey tournament at the Hartmann Inline Rink in North Boulder. It may be a good chance to meet up if anyone is a local player!

If you would like to enter as a team or free agent, registration closes at midnight tonight - https://www.inlinerink.com/tournaments/2024-tournament

If you want to come out and watch, attendance is FREE to the public, and will be a great family-friendly event with sponsor booths, games all day, and tons of activities at the neighboring Gateway Fun Center.
