I got terminated from my job due to “cost-cutting” measures from my company. My company gave me a 30-day notice period and I’m looking for a job. Please let me know what benefits Bahraini citizens get after they lose their jobs (until they find a new job) and how they can avail them. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Hello, I wanted to point out that I’ve noticed the University of Bahrain’s IT-related majors, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems, include many subjects that seem unrelated to IT, like Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry. In contrast, Bahrain Polytechnic focuses on courses that are directly relevant to the major, such as Computer Systems, Unix Systems, Database Systems, and Coding. Additionally, I’ve heard that at the University of Bahrain, coding is taught in a mostly theoretical way. Is that correct?
Some guy scratched my car while i was parked and ran away where should i report?
The recent surge of hate towards bahrain's safety in this sub is unbelievable so i just wanna share my experience as an expat who grew up here since day zero.
So why do people here find it hard to grasp the reality of that no place on earth can be truly SAFE as per say but it can only be "safer" than the next one that's it, sure bahrain has it's ups and downs like any place in the whole goddamn world but imo it has way more ups than downs i mean that's why most of us chose to settle here right(cause it's SAFER than our own countries)? (I get spare change as a salary but still better than my own country tho🙌)
Considering the "safety" around here its faaaaar much better than any next country out there sure there are some RARE cases here and there but still we don't hear them every other day like someone threw acid on some girl(india) some guy started shooting up a school(usa) someone got robbed at gun point(pakistan) or rape cases every other day in the mentioned countries, honestly women can't be safe anywhere in the world and i don't think they'll ever will be unless men change but i dont think thats happening, it's the harsh truth.
I've got 7 sisters and they grew up in bahrain too they've never been groped, harassed, sexuallly assaulted, raped, held at gun point, or thrown acid at not once in bahrain i highly doubt that would've been the case if we were in our own country, sure they've been stared at and followed by some creeeps here and there but those were rare cases (the guys were our own fellow expats and some bahrains too but less so we all are to blame here) in the perfect world they wouldn't want any of this to happen to them to begin with but in this shitty world they would prefer being stared at or followed rather than thrown acid at,raped, or harassed.
It's not the fault of the system here, they do far much better job to provide security and safety especially for WOMEN in bahrain not just "bahraini women" than the most countries of the world.
The people who were complaining about this, go back to your own country if you haven't in a long time and see how much safer bahrain is as compared to where you came from.
This is the best that we can get out there or Norway i heard it's pretty much safe too😂
So yeah we are not safe here per say but we are most definitely safer.
END OF YAP.
I've been trying various Indian restaurants and they're usually good, but I want to try food that is the closest to the authentic flavors. If you have an Indian background, what's your go-to?
Hi, I'm a 20 year old male, been living in Bahrain for the past 17 years and now am studying mechanical engineering in UOB.Is it even a possibility to get the Bahraini passport these days or is it a dead end, since am literally paying 10x the Bahraini student even tho I graduated highschool with a 96%.
I read some articles about the need to be careful with the water when washing in the Middle East, are you guys using filter tool ?
Happy if you can share all those elementary best practices
I cant think of anything that they dont easily get there as well.
They live in Riyadh if it makes a difference
I've recently gotten a full time job, and admittedly I wasn't expecting to be accepted so early given the status of job vacancies in Bahrain.
Now I'm genuinely concerned whether I would be able to finish my studies at Bahrain Polytechnic because I can't attend my classes physically. I only have 2 more years to go and I really don't want to waste all the effort I had put in so far.
Does Bahrain Polytechnic have any evening classes? Or online ones for the matter?
I want to get specifically the 2-way/response pagers. Asked around and no shops in Manama have had any so far. Any idea where I could look?
Good Day to y’all!
There used to be Ceasars Confectionary in Exhibition road, but they got closed 2 years back. Does anyone know of some other bakery acquired their management? Their cakes used to be amazing, so if any other bakery is replicating exactly same way Ceasars used to bake their cakes.
They were a good brand, both their restaurant and confectionery, no idea why they chose to shut down their business in Bahrain.
Since their closure, been buying cakes from Baskin Robbins, but they have just one or 2 good cakes with similar tastes.
i wanted to invite some friends to do some paintball, so is there any places for it ? i searched in google maps and i found nothing.
Hi everyone.
Just a quick one here. I work and reside in one of the GCC countries and of African Nationality. I applied for an Auditor position on the 30th of October. 31st I was called in for an interview on which we held on the 2nd of November. 3rd of November I was shortlisted and they asked me for my passport in preparation for an offer letter. It came through on the 5th. I signed it on the 6th, then on the seventh they requested for medical records which I provided on the 9th of November. Since then I have been in contact with the one of the recruiters on WhatsApp. Initially he said shortly he will send through the contract then start with the visa application and let me know when to resign after getting approval for my visa.On the 13th again he said the same thing after requesting me to send the medical records, passport and signed offer later. Haven't heard back from them. Not sure if I am overthinking or it's one of those typical "HR ghosting".
Hi everyone, I will be visiting Manama for a week December.
I have a few questions: Are there any pickup football groups where people host games? Or are there any regionally specific apps that help organizers find players?
I've download Maleab, but I do not see any matches.
Are there any, libraries, parks, etc., where people play chess? I prefer an informal setting ("street chess"), but I am open to playing at a formal place like a chess club.
Best, and thanks in Advance.
Hey guys, I've put together a short questionnaire to fuel validation for my startup at this early stage!

Please take a moment to fill it out, it'd be huge. Also, all the responders will receive priority access as our focus group moving forward.

How does one get a hold of a large amount of coins? Like, 70 bd worth of 50 filse. That’d be around 1400 coins. I know the answer sounds obvious, go to the bank, but thinking about it in my head… going to the bank with empty bags might make me look sus.

Yesterday evening, around 7:20 PM, I left my flat for my usual weekend walk and jog toward Bahrain Bay. My routine starts with a walk from Manama’s Nesto Supermarket on Sheikh Hamad Avenue (opposite Babasons) to the Bahrain Financial Harbour, where I jog for about an hour.
As I reached in front of Nesto, I was suddenly surrounded by three or four casually dressed Arab men. They grabbed my hands, shirt, and shoulders, asking me to stop. Frightened, I tried to push the man holding my shoulders away, but his grip was strong. The others held my arms tightly. When I asked why they were restraining me, they repeatedly shouted "police," but didn’t show any identification. Their actions made me panic, thinking it was an attack or attempted kidnapping.
More men arrived, and one placed handcuffs on me after I tried to defend myself. I pleaded for them to show IDs and explain their actions, but they didn’t. Eventually, three men came with some traffic vests that's when I confirmed . They claimed they wanted to verify my ID, but I insisted that their approach—grabbing and assaulting me without explanation—was unjustified. After verifying my details, they asked me to leave quietly, saying they didn’t want to expose their cover.
This experience has deeply shaken me. I couldn’t sleep well, and the handcuffs left marks on my wrists. The situation escalated due to poor communication, and I felt helpless with no support from bystanders who simply watched. I respect law enforcement, but the way this was handled left me feeling distressed and misunderstood. I request authorities to review the CCTV footage from Nesto Supermarket on 16/11/2024 to understand how this unfolded. This incident has greatly affected my well-being, and I hope no one else faces such a situation.i didn't know if I should post this or not because obviously I'm afraid but I can't keep trauma for life because of this incident.
Hey guys,
I've always dreamed of opening my own bakery, and lately, I've noticed a rise in home-based food businesses in Bahrain on Instagram and TikTok.
From what I understand, obtaining a food license typically requires access to an industrial kitchen. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to set one up right now.
My question is:
Thank you in advance!
