Cheapest Car Wash Around Khuwair?

What's the cheapest car wash in Al Khuwair? I get my car washed for around 1 riyal by Green Belt services, you can find them in the parking lots of some stores in Seeb. However, in Khuwair it seems like the avg. price for the same service is 2.1? Is there something cheaper?

Can anyone please enlighten me about Oman’s culture and traditions?

I have to represent the country in my cultural presentation. Although I am researching from my end, I want to get this information from a citizen of Oman itself.

Rental Car Insurance for the Madha exclave (traveling from UAE)

Hi!

I'm currently planning a trip to the UAE for 8 days with my family in late October and we'd like to do an excursion to the Madha exclave in Oman as part of the trip. I wasn't sure whether to post this here or on the Emirati subreddit but anyhow, there's not a whole lot of information regarding car insurance and how strict they are about it. We're renting a car for the whole trip in Dubai, and from what I've heard, most rental companies won't let you take the car into Oman.

The thing is, the borders between Nahwa (UAE) and Madha (Oman) and the rest the UAE surrounding the enclave are all open borders. Would any of you say that it's worth the hassle and money to get extra cover for Oman just for this excursion? I'm mainly worried about being stopped by police in Madha at a regular traffic stop and them asking about the insurance, but I also don't want to unnecessarily pay for extra insurance for Oman when we're not even traveling to the mainland part of the country. I wouldn't say we'd spend more than an hour or two in Madha, so if anyone could provide any first-hand insight into how the situation looks at the border and recommend what we should do that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Salam Alikum. Help with a blocked website.

I have a hobby of writing and reading stories on this site. www.Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own. Recently the sites have been blocked. I am confused, I know some people on the site might post weird haram stuff on it, but I always ignored it. Social Media is also filled with stuff like this, and it's not banned. is there a way you can reverse this?

Just a rant about apple authorized service centers in Muscat

I wanted to replace my iPhone battery as it degraded below 80%. I thought the general time taken for replacement is 2-3 hours or maximum one day. (I'm not saying that it'll be done next day. They may have a long list of customers waiting for service). But there should be a ticketing system /slot booking system where they request to handover phone for battery replacement based on pending service requests.

But, when I went to check this with them in person, they rudely told that the phone should be left with them for 2-3 weeks as they need to order part. I even requested them, that I'm ready to make payment for the replacement and once the spare arrives, i can drop off my phone.

But they rudely denied stating that this is thier company policy and nothing can be done.

Apple doesn't allow third party service providers and doesn't sell original spares to them. Their authorized service center wait times are ridiculous. It feels like a deadlock situation. Rant over.

Update - Apparently it’s not unique to muscat / oman. Any third party authorized service provider needs to have customer’s iphone in thier possession to be able to order the spare part for that phone. It’s not an issue in locations where apple has direct service centers (like Dubai). My bad luck.

For those in the medical field, how hard is it for an international medical graduate to land a residency spot?

I am currently a first year resident in cardiac surgery in eastern europe. Despite passing the national residency exam I still struggle with the language and it is hindering my professional level. I was thinking about doing my residency in one of the gulf countries. Any advice?

What do you think of the texture from the look?

Omani Halawa!

So I am an Indian in the west born and brought up in the UAE and have been to oman a couple times. My favourite desert was omani halawa which is not found anywhere in the entire united states. We do not have any authentic omani restaurants either.

Anyways, I decided to make omani halwa and wondering what do nationals think of this desert.

Found my fav dates

I’ve been looking for Sukkary Ruthab dates ever since I tried the fresh ones in random places last year. I loved them but had no idea what they were called or where to find them in shops—it always seemed kinda hard to come across.

But today, I randomly spotted the dried fruit version at Lulu, and wow, it just hit the spot! So glad I finally found them. These are from Saudi but I wonder if they're grown in Oman as well?

Restaurant recommendations for a surprise birthday.

Hey everyone,

I’ll be in Muscat for vacation and would love some restaurant recommendations for a surprise birthday. Ideally, I’m looking for a place where the staff would dim the lights, bring out a birthday cake, (and maybe even sing with us)?

Would love to hear your recommendations and experiences! Thanks in advance.
