Here is the background: I am attending a meeting at Muscat OCEC, but the organizers are from France. They sent a signed invitation letter that states financial support, travel and hotel will be covered. I also got confirmed return flight tickets and hotel booking. I have been to 26 countries in the past, and every time, such an invitation letter with flight and hotel tickets is sufficient for getting a visa, but NOT this time!
After searching on the Internet and calling travel agencies, I am sure I need 26A Travel Visa. So, I tried to apply at https://evisa.rop.gov.om/en/
For strange reasons when I select my nationality, the only Visa options available to me are in the following pic. I do not have any active Schengen or US visa (though old visa stamps of these countries exist on passport). Does that mean I cannot visit Oman? Is India Oman relationship strained at present and tourists from India are not allowed there?
Please advise. Thank you so much!
Does anyone know any information about hospitals or universities that allow a 1 year housemanship for dental graduates (expats)? I graduated from dental school and in my country we have to do this year after graduation and I can’t do it in my country, so im wondering if I can do it here.

Hi guys simple and years old traditional question. I need to buy a car suggest some cars i will list down my requirements
-Budget 1600-1800 (2000 max but i keep 200 for maintenance so i cant buy something for 2000 if it will have issues of maintenance and thats impossible)
-Prefer cars above 2.0
-Family car
-Don’t care much about mileage probably 10 km/l
-Also easily repairable within country (spare parts and things like that)
Kindly suggest models with car so its kind of specific for me 🙂
Thank you and have a nice day 🙂

Hey everyone,
I have a couple of questions from the perspective of someone living in Oman:
How is the interaction with locals? Do you get to work or connect with them often? For example, how likely is it that your boss or colleagues are Omani? (I'm working as an actuary in insurance, if that helps.)
What's the personal income tax situation like? I read that the Omani government might be planning to introduce it—any insights?
What is the social scene like? Are there good opportunities to meet new people, both locals and expats?
How is the cost of living, especially regarding rent and groceries? Is it manageable on a typical expat salary?
Thanks in advance!
I bought an electronic from sharaf dg about 12 days ago and now the price has reduced by almost 40 omr. Are there any laws that protect consumer against such price drops. I'm aware of a certain rule in eXtra stores in oman. Generally in other western countries you get a price difference amount if there is such reduction in 14 days from purchase . Any help from people who have studies about these laws will be appreciated
UPDATE: I went to store and enquired and they straightly refused. Contacted their higher staffs and they just said sorry and moved on :( I think oman needs rule with drastic price reduction to instill confidence in buyers.
"Hi everyone! I'm planning to open a clinic in South Al Batinah, Oman, and I'm looking for advice on where to start and whom to contact for the setup. I'd love any insights on the regulatory requirements, initial permits, licensing processes, or any local contacts that could help with navigating the healthcare setup process here.
If you've gone through this before or have any connections in the region, your input would be hugely appreciated! I’d also be keen to hear about any challenges or tips you found useful along the way. Thanks so much in advance!"
This is a genuine question am not here to shame anyone I just wanna know if your not boycotting why not? This is a question for everyone not just the locals

Assalamu alaikum I just moved to Oman and I'm on the hunt for filmmaking opportunities. I've been in the game for a while now, diving into direction, videography, and editing. But here's the thing— the job market seems pretty down here.
I’m looking for any leads, advice, or even some insight into the scene around here. Ideally, I’d love to work with an advertising agency, but I’m open to any gig that lets me get creative and tell some awesome stories.
If you’ve got any tips or know of any opportunities, I’m all ears.
This is the links to my work :) https://linktr.ee/ivanprince
I’m travelling to Cairo from my country and while returning back, I have two options one is taking a layover in UAE and the second option is taking a layover in Oman Muscat. Both layovers are around 18 to 20 hours so I can easily go for shopping. anybody who has done shopping in these two countries and can help me outwhich one of them offer us better pricing. Also, it’s definite that both of them will have better prices than my home country.
Hi everyone! Please help!
Travelling to Oman soon.
I have a prescription for zopiclone, sleeping tablets. Am I allowed to bring this ???!

Hello How is November for visiting Salalah
Is there any platform where we can see what Salalah is like in the last few days ?
Thanks people For the help
I want to check how to go from A to B (for example Mosque to Supermarket).
On the Mwasalat App, it only mentions the bus stops and I can't choose place
On google maps it shows me everything, but I'm not sure it's as reliable/correct as the Mwasalat app
Was in the queue to buy something from McDonald’s and I see a 5-7 year old local kid and her Filipino maid.
I approached the counter and the kid and her caretaker were on the side to receive their orders. And I heard the kid say out loud “huwa bengali” basically her caretaker was telling her that he’s a good person and an Indian (which obviously is wrong) and then I heard the kid look towards me and say “la huwa Hindi” 💀 and I’m like “I do understand Arabic” (in Arabic obviously)
Something that spoke to me loud and clear that even kids here know how to be racist and judge ethnicities which is low key sad.
Visiting Oman and goodness, they love their perfume don't they!? The number of shops selling scent is unreal! I'd like to buy some good quality oud but it's bewildering and don't want to pay ridiculous prices. Please could I have recommendations?
