r/zines is dead but I thought we could benefit from a place to talk about zines we are making and reading! This sidebar will also feature resources for zine makers, including websites, libraries and reading lists.

Hello, I’m Josh, and I’m a student at East Texas A&M. I am currently running a survey as part of my ethnographic research project on the zine community. Answers will not be shared publicly, and will only be seen by myself and my professor. The survey is 9 questions long, with 6 multiple choice and 3 written answers. Thank you!
The Comic Zine Database is a virtual archive of mini-comics, comic fanzines, small press comics, newave comix and related items. Comic zines of all types! We've got over 17,000 entries and there's a whole lot more work to do.
CROWDFUNDING: DONATE AND GET MINI-COMICS IN THE MAIL!
If we can raise $1,000 for the Comic Zine Database, that'll allow me to dedicate at least 20 hours each week for the next month or two. My goal is to add the 1,500+ physical items sitting in boxes here, taunting me. Also, it'll mean I can set up community features which will add Facebook-like functionality and any community member will easily be able to add their own entries to the Database (same login, same account), as well as post news about their publications, ask questions, discuss comics, etc. $1,000 is only 100 comics lovers sending $10 each so whaddaya say? If we should raise more, it just means more work will get done!

I am making a zine about zines for an independent study class and wish to bump out the section about currently running zines! If you do have a suggestion, please let me know!
Recommendations preferably:
If the recommendations you have are free to view online, that would be extra great! For anyone that wants a sneak peak at my under developed document, here ya go: Independent Study: Zine Research
Thank you! Please share with anyone that can help!
So I wanna print out some multi-page zines with my new printer, but I'm having trouble with even *conceptualizing* how to start formatting. With mini-zines it seems simple, but adding more pages just... ugh! Can anyone help me with this?
Hi y'all,
I'm an organizer for a virtual zine fest, and I want to put together a guide for choosing a platform for selling zines for our participants. Problem is, I've only ever used ko-fi for physical and itch.io for digital, so I'm not sure what other options are out there/what the pros and cons are. What's your favorite place to sell zines and why?
hi guys,
i've just started a degree in fashion promotion, and my first assignment is to make a zine. 16 pages, a4 or a5. and its based on the words 'extra' and 'anarchy'.
i've got a decent plan but i'm just really overwhelmed because there's almost too much freedom with this project lol. i cant tell how much fashion i should actually include. any ideas to fill in some of the pages? my dad was a punk in the 80's, so i did an interview with him about how he thinks fashion has changed etc, so that's one page... the second page will be a 'manifesto' i'm writing. just really don't know what kind of things i can fill the other pages with. in the brief summary they said:
"In developing the zine’s contents, consider the needs and interests of the reader by including a mix of image making (e.g. photography, illustration, film stills) and writing (e.g., prose, free form, poetry, reportage, interviews, reviews). You should be aiming to create original, exciting and intriguing content to engage your reader. "
any help is massively appreciated. ps, you're all really cool and love your work, ill upload mine when its done hopefully xx
