Calling all self-ID'd disabled writers, artists and general hotties!

Crips with Whips is a zine about sex, love and disability. The best thing? It’s for us, by us and about us.

We want your erotic fiction, your real love stories, your funny anecdotes, your kinky poetry. We want your fantasy art, your sexy selfies, your... *ahem*... creative uses of accessibility aids.

We want to create a collection of work that lets disabled people see ourselves, in all our sexy glory, as the centre of our own fantasies and love stories. If you’ve got it, we want it. Send your stuff to cripswithwhips@mania.systems by 10th May 2020.

The Rules
Art & Selfies: clothed, please (no nipples or naked butts). Please include a black & white version.
Fiction, poetry & non fiction: No personally identifying information. 1000 words max.
Optional: include a short bio (50w max) Please only submit work you have the right to publish. If your submission has been published elsewhere, please let us know.
All works must be by, for and about self-identified disabled people.

This is an entirely not-for-profit project run by volunteers with a laserjet printer.

Proposal for another IRC meeting

Comrades,

We're not doing so hot right now, unless a lot of work is being done that is not being reported. I admired the call to get to work, but it seems to have failed. I propose we have an IRC chat meeting tomorrow, August 15th, at 6:00 UTC-05. The purpose of this thread will be to suggest topics for the agenda and work out preliminary measures that would be time consuming in a meeting (report backs, introductions, etc.).

Hi! I was solicited for one of my poems, and I had a couple questions.

I notice from skimming your minutes that you want to differentiate the zine's presentation of Anarchism from overt violent activism.

But, I just wanted to see if there is a particular governing (oh, the irony) paradigm for Anarchism that you want to project.

For example: Will this zine ever endorse group-orchestrated violence or any overt "illegal" actions in any way?

If the answer is no, then I'd be more than happy to include my poetry with your efforts.

I also wrote my MA thesis on Anarchism in dystopian literature, which may be of interest.

How is everyone doing? Does anyone need any help with anything?

I have secured us zine distributors in Richmond, VA and Brooklyn, NY. I am also going to start looking through /r/@ for creative writing posts because the number of submissions is pretty low.

Proposal: Let's start this adventure!

Comrades,

It may be the space bag I've been sipping on, but I feel like the revolutionary fire is down to embers. Let us throw on the sticks and meat and chow down on this shit! I feel the more we delay, the less likely we are to accomplish our mission.

Here's

  1. copy writers and editors begin to copy edit and style, type and format independent of other sections.

  2. From most important to least, the layout team starts forming each section geenlighting and uploading pages to the main /r/zanarchy page to motivate each section as a whole.

  3. As problems arise, we send out 48 hour voting blocks to make more hasty decisions.

As stated before I feel like this will serve our purposes better than the IRC meetings FOR THIS FIRST ISSUE. I love the IRC meetings, but the threat of failure is too imminent to leave to chance. If we push forward we will see results.

The last IRC meeting

So only 3 people in total showed up to the last IRC meeting. Because of that, we were not able to make consensus decisions that reflected the will of the group and now we are not able to move forward. Let's come up with a new date and time for an IRC meeting and everyone please try your best to attend so we can continue to make progress. Also for the sake of making the deadline I suggest that people begin to do edits and layout.

I'm suggesting Thursday at 3PM EST.

Changes to time of IRC meeting

I have made the decision to change the time of the meeting from the 18th to the 21st of July.I felt that this would be a fairer time for people who may be working at the original time. If anyone has a problem with this please post.

Cover page proposal.

I have designed a template for the cover page of the new zanarchy zine.

I have designed it for A4 paper, but I'm sure it can be resized to something else without too much trouble.

Zine Working Groups *Update*

Using my spirit guide and the process of elimination I've worked around positions to fit our small but feral group.

Changes include: Each group has now only 3 members, one in each position, instead of 5. This means we'll all have to shoulder more pages, but I think it's possible. Now we still need to get someone to layout the Art section. Here goes:

Let's start discussing this so we have a cover picture ready by our submissions target deadline (july 30th).

What does everyone want for the cover? just words? black and white or color? anyone wants to submit a pic that will be used as the cover, or even make an original drawing/painting/whatever?

I'd love to work with y'all to make art for the zine

I do a lot of art. I've submitted some of it to /r/anarchism. Check my history to see it. I work primarily with pencil/pen/charcoal and would love to help out to create art for the zine. Do we have any ideas for the cover art? Anyone want to collaborate on some stuff? If anyone is really good with photoshop or similar programs I could send a scan of my art and we could collaborate.

Would any comic artist want to work on a collaboration?

I'm a writer and I've been working on a semi-autobiographical project about a group of anarchists who are magically given super powers. It is heavily influenced by The Invisible Man, Native Son, the Dark Phoenix Saga, and the Sandman series.

Zine Working Group sign-up sheet.

In accordance to what was discussed during the Zanarchy IRC Meeting Here is the sign up sheet.

To do this comment on the bottom with the section/position you'd like to volunteer for. The sections are THEORY, NEWS, CREATIVE WRITING, LIFESTYLE, ART

The positions are CO-EDITOR, LAYOUT, COPYEDITOR/WRITER Co-Editors are responsible for the direction and "feel" of the section. Layout designs the section and is responsible for putting the text in a easy to understand and artistically pleasing manner. Copy editors are the grunts of the section. They are responsible for checking facts to grammer and getting interviews and story ideas for the section.
