Harassing players is not tolerated and is punishable by immediate ban. If you see an extremely basic question, or someone not understanding something simple, that's okay. That's what Yugioh101 is for. Don't respond with things like "Just read the rulebook", "Read the card", or "Google it".
Don't start general discussions about Yugioh, like "What do you think of this card?". Don't try to promote your YouTube channel. Don't post to ask how much your cards are worth.
If you are unsure of the answer, please don't respond to the question. Please don't use any of the jargon listed in this post: A Guide to the Rules Behind the Jargon.
The first three teach the basics of Yugioh's rules. The Full Resource List contains every useful resource I know, and is useful even for experts.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has some ideas for the upcoming format we'll be going into with ryzeal and malice. I expect them to be played pretty heavily. I'm playing the furniture build with the trap tricks and max Arias right now. Don't have dominus impulse but planning on getting them soon hopefully by trade but I'll bite the bullet and pay for them if I have to. May also play the extravagance again also since it seems to be doing well. My area is pretty competitive. Right now it's a lot of tenpai and yubel but I think a lot will switch to the new decks coming out. Just trying to prepare for that and probably the regional next month. Any suggestions are welcome for main, side, and extra. Thanks
Can red reign effect still resolve if there's no longer a lv8 or higher synchro on the field?
Example:
CL1: Red Reign
CL2: Any removal effects on the lv8 or higher synchro monster
Does it get all the new cards
I’m tearing myself up right now. I’m trying to build my Tenpai list for the upcoming YCS and I currently have 4 different lists built, 2 handtrap focused and 2 board breaker focused. On the one hand, there are decks like Kash Fiendsmith that show how good handtraps are. However, there are also lists that are using Raigeki, Lightning Storm, Harpie Duster, Super Poly, and even Ultimate Slayer in the OCG.
Of course this is literally gonna be the first BIG tournament for this new format but I can’t figure out what’s bette for Tenpai to play. It inherently has a bad matchup against Ryzeal, which is why I wanna lean more into anti-Ryzeal specific board breakers and possibly side deck Dominus Impulse as well. However, doing so makes me more vulnerable to the known meta decks.
I still have a few more days and two more locals tournaments (hopefully post CRBR) before then, but I want more feedback if you have any.
Thank you in advance.
I got absolutely bodied by one recently in a master duel ranked match against a galaxy/photon deck I had. And some of the methods used in these decks make no sense to me (Even though l've only gotten back into the card game itself after a 5 year hiatus):
• Normal Summon effects that act as special summons?
• Summoning level 7-8 monsters with no hesitation
• "Normal Summoning" monsters on the opponent's turn.
What gives?
Hi!
So I have currently two decks based on structures, fire kings dogmatika and pure crystal beasts, both intended for playing in a more "serious" environment, different approaches etc, but looking at my "bulk" or other non constructed decks, I noticed I have a couple of core cards for different archetypes, mainly:
I am planning onto building a millenium deck eventually, since i like the exodia thing plus it is kind of a nostalgic deck, though I want something more of my own, which is why i looked onto white forest and manadium, more specifically, i played manadium deck during the event of master duel, so i'm kind of familiar with it, while with white forest i have a couple of staples and a synchro monster, so both seem to match the vibe as synchro based strategies? But i don't know if it make sense to join, since as of now most of the "azamina something" or "runick whatever" or else "naturia blabla" it feels like non connected archetypes for me.
TLDR; would it make sense to build that together as a 40 card deck? my core idea is to make it a synchro deck plus a couple of xyz or links here and there.
Me and my two boys play yugioh together...
They are getting some great cards for Christmas this year...
But I want to troll them..So here are my two questions:
Thanks for helping me destroy their will to mess with their old pops in yugioh ever again!

I recently started to get into yugioh through Master Duel as my first expereince anything yugioh related and i was wondering what simulators would be best to play people whether it be ranked or casual mode that would also have newer players compared to veterans that have been playing for a while.
That being said though I'm not against the idea of going against veterans I would just like to find a community that is more casual while I start out because im interested in deck building and would love to take my decks into play and refine them through expereince and not go against people that know everything about every deck etc.
I know I have a lot to learn through discovering cards, banlists, interactions, etc. My end goal would to be someone who can come up with unique combinations of decks or just throw ideas around other creative deckbuilders and see what happens as thats what I'm really into and is the most fun for me.
TLDR: want to play against a casual community on a simulator or discord and gain expereince with deckbuilding and improve my deckbuilding skills.
OK so I revised a Live Twin Spright deck by taking out some cards and the Nimbles I was running earlier and ended up with this. I think this deck list is a lot more solid than the first, but I was just wondering if the Side Deck options are fine enough as is, or if they do need to be changed. For context I side-deck Prohibition, Dimensional Barrier, TTT, and Eschatos purely to counter Tenpai, because I'd rather hard counter them than have more options (I despise Tenpai with a passion). Should I cool it with the Tenpai counters, add more Tenpai counters, add more variety of options, or play 3 copies of things like Cyclone and Evenly Matched for consistency? Also I have Evil Twin's Ki-Sikil and Lil-La and Live Twin Home still in my deck just purely because I like them, and yes I know Ki-Sikil Lil-La is a brick.

I’m slowly piecing together a galaxy eyes photon deck to have some fun with and switch it up from my usual choice. There’s a few cards in the deck that are search effects for galaxy and photon cards. Do Galaxy eyes afterglow and galaxy eyes photon dragon fall under the banner of galaxy cards? I’ve seen master duel clips where the player seems to be able to search for them using the same cards. But wasn’t sure if that translates to real world duels as well. Thanks in advance.
I see literally nobody play it and even Google keeps pulling up the whole “Fairy Tale” deck along with YouTube. It’s almost like it stopped existing to people once Snow was banned, if people even played it at all.
I haven't played since 2008 when syncchros came out and the game it's just so vastly different now I really just want to play the game I used to love
This game used to be my life, I spent 2003 to 2008 going to tourneys every single Saturday. I miss that game.
How to summon Elder Entity n'tss and titaniklad dragon, in a voiceless voice deck?
I haven't played Yugioh for a long time and I wanted to play again, I saw that many people recommended the albaz strike structure, but now that branded fusion is limited I wouldn't know what to replace it with or if it is viable, at the moment I would like to not have to buy things outside the structure deck because where I live it is very complicated to get single cards.
I am wondering something peculiar, I was playing with my friend when he attacked me with his Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon which had the The Ultimate Creature of Destruction effect on it. He attacked my Chaos Angel which had both its effects active. We got confused as to how this plays out with these two effects:
The Ultimate Creature of Destruction:
"Target 1 "Blue-Eyes" monster you control; this turn, that face-up monster is unaffected by card effects, except its own,"
Chaos Angel:
"Synchro Monsters you control are unaffected by monster effects activated by your opponent."
"Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle"
So when Alternative Ultimate Dragon attacks, and or tries to destroy Chaos Angel with card effects, and Chaos Angel uses its effects, is that so that those effects somehow gets reflected onto Alternative Ultimate Dragon and therefor get negated since this turn it is unaffected by card effects.
I've been thinking about building my own decks after I play around with Swordsoul duel ignition deck in OCG AE, other than a Millennium Exodia deck, I found the Zarc deck interesting, should I invest into it too??
Just recently getting back into yu gi oh. I used to collect as a kid but I have since lost my collection. Could anyone update me on what the new packs coming out are, who are good people to follow on social media for news, and what are the current hard to get cards.
Does the final sentence saying you can only use this effect once per turn apply to the equip effect? And then it can only be used once returned by requiem
Pretty much all decks i play are better going first and I am just looking for some recomendations of decks who want to go second (no need to be meta but have a chance to go against some of them?)
Just no pendulum ty
I just got a fire king structure deck and I don’t know if it any good I heard good things about it but I’m not sure
So I know that Unicore negates the effects of monsters summoned from the extra deck but what about monsters like Time Thief Redoer or Cosmic Blazar Dragon? Both monsters can banish themselves then return to the field, so they technically aren't from the extra deck right?
Hey I'm a red dragon archfiend player and I've seen some people in decklists say that supernova can activate its effect twice per turn once normally then again after being brought back by red zone, is this true. I've tried to replicate these conditions in masterdule to see but people quit before I can test it
Spirit of yubel lets you add a yubel spell/trap from deck, does the field spell count?
Also, are fields counted as continuous spells or are they a different category?
Title.
Looking for quick play spells/traps that return generic monster to hand as either a cost to pay for an effect or just to return your own monster to hand.
Does a counter trap effect activated in the GY, like {{Dinomorphia Shell}}, operate at Spell Speed 3?
Also, is there any examples of counter traps which are capable of bring truly a chain link 1/dont have a specific trigger condition.
I just recently bought a deck online but it's been years since I last played and I can't understand combos I'm supposed to do. Here's the list:
Main deck
monsters
- x1 Red Eyes Darkness Metal dragon
spells
traps
Extra Deck
fusions
synchro
link
Side deck
What happens if you already have a full field but then a mimighoul is flipped on the opponents field? Would it still get the first effect then go to grave? Or would the opponent keep it on their field?
