    Abiding by the first two is standard no matter where you post on this site, but in this community there is an expectation of practicing good reddiquette when you can.     Rule 2: Posts must discuss a topic. Write at least a few sentences. Exceptions for news and art.

    Posts must discuss a topic. Put in the effort to write at least a few sentences talking about it. You can't just bring something up for others to discuss without discussing the topic first yourself. The exception is when you share content which is worthwhile in its own right, such as news, or art.

    Examples which are NOT allowed, without additional discussion:

    Rule 3: Use the "Q&A and Ruling Megathread" to ask for information. Use /r/Yugioh101 if you're new.

    If you have a question which is asking for some information, instead of starting a discussion about a topic, don't post it here. Instead, please ask in the "Q&A and Ruling Megathread". It's the post pinned at the top of /r/Yugioh. We also have /r/Yugioh101. It is a subreddit for helping new and returning players. If you are a new player asking for advice, we recommend you post there instead.

    Rule 4: No buying, selling, asking about prices or grading.

    You cannot ask about what items are worth. You cannot ask if cards are worth grading, or what grade they would get. You cannot buy, sell, or trade. It is okay to discuss the economy of the game. You can discuss price trends, etc. For checking prices, use sites like TCGplayer, Cardmarket, or ebay. For niche items, you might not be able to find prices on these sites, but we still don't allow posts for asking about them. For buying, selling, or trading, use /r/YGOMarketplace.

    Rule 5. For "Deck List Help" posts, all card names must be legible. The title must say what your Deck is.

    When posting your Deck List, you must make sure all card names are comfortably readable. We recommend using a site like YGOPRODECK to share the Deck List. You can use a screenshot of your Deck, but the image resolution must be good enough that the card names can be read. You cannot rely on people recognizing the cards from the images alone. Your post's title must make it clear which deck you're playing.

    Rule 6: For art or news, include a link to the source. Do not post false or misleading information.

    If you're posting your own art, your post much say that it's yours. For example: "Kaiba artwork I made". If you're posting someone else's art, or news, your post must include a link to the source. Make sure that any information you post is correct. Make sure that it is not presented in a misleading way.

    Rule 7: Don't advertise without participating first. 90% of your activity must be unrelated to your content.

    90% of your activity on this subreddit must be unrelated to advertising your content. For example, if you want to post one of your YouTube videos, you should participate in the comments of other posts first. Engage in genuine discussions with people. If you think you have something important to advertise, message the mods first to ask if we can make exception.

    Rule 8: For Custom Cards, the text must be written how real cards are. The title must say that it's Custom.

    The exact phrasing you use in card text is important. Look at recent cards with similar effects to yours. Read these to learn how card text is written: Problem Solving Card Text and Lantern's Custom Card Guide. Your title must make it clear that this is not a real card. Include a link to the source for artwork used.

    Rule 9: No posts just for showing off cards or other items. You can use /r/YugiohShowcase instead.

    Do not make posts which are just for showing off pictures of cards, or other items like boxes, packs, or action figures. Please use /r/YugiohShowcase instead.

    Rule 10: No memes, repetitive posts, or off-topic posts.

    We don't allow memes. You can post in /r/YugiohMemes instead.

    We don't allow multiple posts about the same topic within a short space of time. If there has recently been another post about the same topic, you should comment in that one instead of making a new post.

    What Happened to PNZ Tiger channel?

    PNZ Tiger (i'm almost sure it's his channel name) was a channel that basically make some anime duels on edopro and post in his channel. His duels are so good and really felt like the anime itself, and it was my favorite channel about that. The duels i remember are: Joey vs Rafael, Zane vs Supreme, Joey vs Atticus, Jack (5DS) vs Jack (ARC-V), Jaden vs Kaiba, Jaden vs Arkana. I remembered his videos and tried watch some of them, but when i checked my channels I subscribed, his channel wasn't there and i even tried search some of the duels, and found nothing. If someone knows what happened to him or have any duels of his, please, help me.

    How many cards would leave the banlist if they had a hard once per turn?

    Looking at the banlist, I see a few cards that are banned because they are abusable by not having a once per turn clause on their effects. Level Eater and Ronintoadin are some that come to mind. So if the cards on the banlist had a hard once per turn restrictions, how many would become unbanned?

    How exactly do Augmented Reality Duels work in ZEXAL?

    I finished ZEXAL yesterday for the second time ever because I was feeling nostalgic after reading its manga for the first time ever (which I highly recommend). This time, though, I put more attention to the details of the show.

    I don't understand how the AR works during the Duels. I somewhat get what AR isā€”it's not solid. In AR, virtual objects are visually overlaid onto the real world, but they don't have physical substance. You can't touch, feel, or interact with them physically as if they were solid objects; they are just visual representations only.

    So why can Kaito interact with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon in its sealed form and launch it into the sky? It's still AR. Or Shark in the Manga, who actually grabbed an energy sword and destroyed Lancelot with it. Even Captain Corn (Manga) blocked Utopia's sword with his own (!!!).

    Why does Yuma get sent back at least 20 feet, either from an attack or effect damage? It's AR! Imagine you're not wearing a D-Gazer and this kid is being thrown around by an invisible force while crying out in pain.

    I know there are special circumstances, like Shadow Games and certain Duels (those against the Barians, Numbers, Don Thousand, etc), but most Duels that do not have 'special circumstances' still don't make sense to me unless its all about the 'rule of cool'.

    The Wiki says this but I don't know if by "objects" it also refers to the Monsters. It implies that the monsters can be considered as "objects" within this AR setting.

    WhenĀ DuelistsĀ engage in an Augmented Reality Duel, a virtual copy of everything around the Duelists appears. This allows monsters to appear to directly interact with the environment, but without actually damaging the environment, although the objects created in the Augmented Reality field appear to be solid during the Duel. With this the summonings and movements of monsters are far more realistic and most monsters have cries.

    Seems like Konami just pushing out alot of support and new themes even quicker than ever before. From crossover breakers to maze of the master to supreme darkness and also blue eyes structure deck there are alot of upcoming interesting things. What is everybody excited for?     Started playing MTG. Yu-gi-oh products are just way worse.

    It feels soo bad. I love yu-gi-oh, I love the cards, I love the competitive game, but the products are soo bad. Bonanza packs comes with JUST 5 cards, play boosters in MTG come with USEFULL cards and 15 of them. It's insane, don't get me started on the quality of cards. Regular booster comes with 9 cards only. I don't mind getting extras Commons and Rares to spare, it just help me build different decks. Opening a MTG booster feels like a joy, card, after card, after card. But opening a YGO booster feels like a gamble that ends in like 3 seconds, it's just soo low 9 cards per booster. I only play commander in MTG and even them, I feel like YGO is the better card game, but Konami does products development soo bad. For 50 bucks I can buy 100 cards in a competitive commander deck that come with deck box. It really feels like I'm playing the worst card game when buying products.

    Dueling Nexus 2.0 Announcement - Reconnections, New Timer, Edison Matchmaking, and a lot More!

    Hello everyone! Its been awhile since my last post! My name is Sky, and I am the Product Manager for Dueling Nexus. I wanted to update you all on what we've been working on since then!

    For anyone unfamiliar, Dueling Nexus is a fully-automatic web-based free-to-play Yu-Gi-Oh! online game with all the cards unlocked and Yugioh deck browser. Last year, we released some major updates, including 3D Mode, Holograms, Achievements, In-Game Chat Moderation, and much more. We've also been hard at work to implement many QOL fixes, and I'm so happy to share our progress with you all today!

    The following features are now available on Dueling Nexus:

    • Reconnections
      • Server disconnects are an issue of the past! Reconnections allow users who disconnect to get right back into their games like nothing ever happened.
      • After disconnecting, the game will automatically attempt to reconnect users while they remain in the page. Additionally, refreshing the page or accidentally closing and reopening it will also work.
      • A Game Log message will appear in the In-Game Chat indication a player has disconnected, and will log when they reconnect as well. Additionally, to the reconnected player, the log will inform you that you are in the process of reconnecting.
      • The reconnection window will remain open for 30 seconds (or the remaining time on the opponent's timer, if it is less than 30 seconds). If the player does not reconnect within that timeframe, the remaining player will receive a Game Win (and the disconnecting player will be given a Game Loss) as usual.

    • New Timer
      • Stallers begone! We've overhauled the Timer to combat stalling and AFKers.
      • The new Timer will now properly display minutes and seconds remaining. Time gain is now capped at 1.5x the default start timer. This means that the timer will start at 4:00, and increase by no more than 2:00 per turn. Each move will continue to add 5 seconds to the timer as normal.
      • After 30 seconds of inactivity, the Timer will go into AFK Mode. While in AFK Mode, the timer will drain five times as fast, and the bar's colour will change from blue to yellow. The text will also change from white to red.
      • When the timer reaches 0, the player will be given a Game Loss as normal. The changes should prevent unnatural timer extensions and help speed along malicious opponents trying to wait out their turns.

    Shown on the top is the new timer in action. On the left, the new Emotes explained below

    • Edison Matchmaking
      • The most popular Retro Format is now available for Matchmaking! Featuring the March 2010 banlist and Cardpool + the MR1 ruleset, players can now queue up for Unranked Single games of Edison as a permanent game mode.
      • Pre-Errata cards, which are cards that feature older text for cards whose effects have since been updated, are now available in the game for use in Edison and other Retro Formats. They can be filtered for within the Deck Builder with the Limit: Pre-Errata tag. They will also feature a special ERT symbol to indicate their status.
      • The Edison banlist is also available for view within the Deck Builder, and players can host and join custom Edison games as well.
      • Edison Ranked Matches are planned to be added in the future. See below for additional details!

    • Server Fixes
      • We've made various updates to our servers, which should result in a smoother user experience! User will no longer experience significant lag or delayed server responses.
    • Event Log Changes
      • Cards revealed from the Extra Deck by effects of cards like Kashtira Unicorn are now properly logged.
      • Cards revealed are now be properly logged instead of just saying "A Card" with effects like Pot of Duality.
      • Texts were updated to fix grammatical issues and use updated PSCT for terms like Banishment

    • In-Game Chat Emotes
      • Express yourself like never before! Emotes featuring our mascot characters Nyx, Shiloh, Dimitri, Lorelei, and Petra are now in the game. Use them to express various emotions, such as sending a GG or to express that you're Thinking!
      • Additional emotes featuring Avester will be added soon!

    • Additional Retro Formats
      • Nothing beats the good ol' days! On top of Edison, players can build Decks and host Custom Games for April 2014 HAT, January 2015 Duelist Alliance, and July 2019 TOSS formats, including all relevant Pre-Errata cards and accompanying dated Card Pool.
      • Matchmaking for these Formats is planned to be incorporated in the future, read below for additional details!

    More formats to come

    • In-Game Rewards from Events
      • Users who participate in our Discord hosted events, including Tournaments, Gameshows, and CYOC, can now receive exclusive in-game rewards for their participation! These include Rarity Tokens, Credits, and more!
      • The rewards will be based on the event. Be sure to check out our Discord Server to keep up with on-going events!
    • DNX Partner Program
      • TheĀ Dueling Nexus Partner ProgramĀ is a way for Content Creators to connect with their followers, expand their network, and join a growing community of fellow Content Creators. In essence, partners will receive their own Partner Code, unlimited Contributor Time, ability to promote their content in our platform, and much more!
      • If you are a Content Creator, and are interested in joining the DNX Partner Program, be sure to check out the FAQ linked above!
    • Battle Pass Changes
      • We've overhauled the Battle Pass rewards! Starting with this season, all rewards will hand drawn cosmetics made by real community artists including Muraselune, Kazene, Wontonie, Yomiyuarts, and others!
      • Due to the time it takes for artists to work on cosmetics, the Battle Pass may not feature all 100 tiers on time. Currently, the Season 6 Battle Pass has 70/100 tiers. We plan to get it up to 100 before the end of the season. If you exceeded the current tier's allotted XP, worry not! It will carry over and let you automatically unlock new tiers as they're added.
      • Future seasons will continue to feature content made by real artists. If you are an artist and would like your work featured in our game, be sure to reach out to us via Discord!

    • Boutique Updates
      • Items from previous Battle Passes, including Season 2 and 3, are now available in the Boutique for those who missed out during those seasons!
      • Additionally, items from Season 4 will be made available in the Boutique with the start of Season 7 alongside the next TCG banlist release. We'll continue the pattern of implementing older season's Battle Pass content into the Boutique going forward.
      • Additionally, new Titles (not previously featured in Battle Passes) will also be added soon to the Boutique!
      • Finally, the Seasonal selection within the Boutique will be updated more regularly starting soon.

    What Comes Next?

    We're still hard at work to provide users with the best possible in-game experience, and are working on a few things:

    • Manual Ranked Mode
      • Manual Mode is currently deep in development, and it's almost ready to see the light of day! Manual mode will feature various changes from our normal Automated gameplay loop, while featuring the same progression system everyone enjoys.
      • Unranked Manual Mode will feature both Single and Match matchmaking, while Ranked Manual Mode will feature a separate MMR from Automatic Mode and accompanying skill-based matchmaking.
      • We are going to roll out a Judge Exam and system within our Discord server soon. Judge calls will be fully integrated with our server, and judges will receive exclusive in-game rewards for their services. More information will come soon.
    • Site Lobby Redesign + Featured Game Modes
      • We're planning to improve a lot of aspects from the Site Lobby design! These include a new Duel Zone layout that supports addition functions such as more game matchmaking modes, informational panels about each mode, and more.
      • In addition to this, we plan to roll out a Featured Game Mode playlist, similar to Master Duel's Festivals, which are limited time modes with exclusive matchmaking and participation rewards. Planned modes include Retro Formats, OCG, and other popular modes!
      • These changes will accompany some mobile improvements to the overall user lobby experience.
    • Streamer Mode
      • Being added really soon, Streamer Mode is designed to help Streamers and Content Creators!
      • Enemy names and cosmetics will be censored in order to avoid potential NSFW content. Additionally, the option to mute Chat and mute Spectators is already available.
      • Do you stream DNX? Consider joining the DNX Partner Program!
    • Mobile Compatibility Fixes
      • Currently, the site's mobile mode is in open Beta. We plan to continue to improve the mobile experience for players on-the-go.
      • Tablet experiences and experiences to those on foldable devices may not be at its best, and we encourage those users to switch to Desktop mode for improvements.
    • Challenges
      • Not to be confused with Achievements, Challenges will feature three modes-Ā Daily Challenges,Ā Weekly Challenges, andĀ Seasonal Challenges.
      • These challenges will reward players withĀ XP for their Battle Pass, andĀ Credits to use in the Boutique.
      • These Challenges will be simple, repeatable tasks that should come in normal play.

    Original Card Idea: Landmine

    Trap Card Continuous Effect:

    Everytime a monster(s) is summoned, toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, destroy that monster(s). If you call it wrong, destroy one card you control (your opponentā€™s choice, except this card). You can only control one ā€œLandmineā€. How wild of a card would it be?

    How likely is it for rush duels to get a master duel like game for it

    Listen I love duel links as much as the next guy but it's no where near an accurate or good simulator for irl rush duels and I really want to play actual up to date rush duels without skills and weird life points

    So considering how popular rush duels are in Japan I was wondering how likely is it for them to get a master duel like game to play them

    The Nostalgia pool for Bonanza seems to have their set numbers in order of their Original TCG release dates of those cards

    I was looking at a set list that already had the numbers for the cards we've seen, and while the main Pool has its card in the order of a typical set, the Nostalgia pool is instead organized by when those cards Originally released(although cards from the same original set seems to still follow normal set order within this)

    this means for anyone who wants to try and figure out what the remaining unknown cards are or are not they can try to take the spot we know and fill in the cards we don't know the set numbers for to see where there is still room

    and couple things I noticed while looking at this:

    Slifer seemed out of order at first, but it's because the position is based on the original release of the non usable version in Legendary collection from 2010 instead of the release of the playable version from 2012

    the last of the baby Dragon Rulers is card number 257 while Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz is number 259 meaning Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight is the only card from 2014 in the Nostalgia pool

    Duel Academy is card 275 meaning there are 3 card released in or after Maze of Memories
