All things related to The Witcher - books, games, TV... You name it.
The Witcher is a critically acclaimed fantasy book series created by Andrzej Sapkowski. The series follows Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter in a universe where people often prove more wicked than beasts. Though originally written in Polish, the franchise gathered a large international following from likewise acclaimed game adaptions by CD Projekt. The books now translated into a dozen languages have also been adapted for TV.

Does anyone play Witcher 2 with a controller? Which is better mkb or controller
I seem to be missing items and the worlds are purple as well as some visible items. I have no idea what I am doing.

all these just sound more majestic and thrilling to me than Witcher 3, not saying it was bad. Witcher 3 had amazing soundtrack.
So I'm a screenprinter who makes t-shirts for a living. I work for a company, but I have the freedom to make my own side projects.
I should add, this shirt is not for sale, as I'm not even sure who really has the rights to the art, but that is exactly why I'm here. There are only like 10 people who have it (myself and some friends/family that I gave one to) and what I was really hoping to do was find out who made the sign in the first place, so I can send them a copy!
The original art is from Season 1, episode 3 (I think) when Geralt is riding into Temeria. It's so fast you'd almost miss it. But it does pause on a closeup long enough that I was able to take a picture of it and convert it into a shirt.
So my question is, how do I even go about figuring out who made the sign in the first place? I guess the production company, and then figure out who was responsible for set decorations? I couldn't think of a better way to figure out who made it other than to post here.
Again, my motivation here is to make contact with whoever was responsible for making the original art, so I can send them a shirt or two. Any input or leads are much appreciated!
At the beginning of this year, I watched the first season of The Witcher on Netflix. I thought it was cool, but some YouTube videos mentioned it wasn't true to the books, so I started reading them. I really enjoyed The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, and since I was planning to play The Witcher 3, I decided to read the whole series. After that, none of the books captivated me as much, except for some parts of Time of Contempt and the ending of Baptism of Fire. Overall, I found them a bit dull. Now I’m halfway through The Tower of the Swallow and don’t feel much motivation to continue, but since I’m so close to finishing the saga, I feel tempted to complete it. Is it worth it?
Do you think cd projekt will include some kind of star as a character in their next game, like they did with keanus reeves and Idris elba. And what would you thinking about it ? Personally I think it could be a bit weird in the univers of the Witcher. It work pretty well in cyberpunk but I don't know. I'm think it would take me out of the univers
First time cosplaying my favourite woman. Picture was taken by captured.by.souls (Instagram) and edited by myself.
Imagine my surprise when my Level 41 @ss almost went broke just crafting components to craft OTHER components...to make a Grandmaster Armor...only to realize I didnt have enough gold left 😂 🤦♂️ . So now Jumping on a few contracts to fix this, but if anyone wants to suggest some that are known to pay more than others I'm all ears. Thank you 🙏
Dying Light 2 was a controversial game due to its design and formula shift from the first Dying Light game. However from a standalone perspective Dying Light 2 has some really interesting combat and traversal gameplay, seeing elements similar to those in TW4 like more acrobatics and sword dancing skills during combat would be cool I think. What do you expect?
I am re-reading the books and i was just at Thanned ball. After reading the dialogue between Geralt and Vilgefortz i now think Vilgefortz might have been a witcher before he became a mage. He was raised by druids, druids are likely those who created firts witchers, and his magical potential was discovered during some druidic ritual. He insists on Geralt becoming sorcerer, he sees big potential in it, maybe from his own experience? When they fight he is extremly skilled and quick, Geralt at one point thinks for himself that no human could dodge that, i think we never see magic used in this way so i do not think it is a spell. Geralt also thinks to himself something like "he now understands, he should have run away". Did he figure out Vilgefortz is actually a mage and a witcher? I am sure he would not tell anyone about it for various reasons, for example just that it would damage the reputation of witchers even more in the world. He would probably not even think about it as he is aware that people can read his mind in the world. I don't think the other mages really know much about his past and he could very well be just lying to them, like about his age i mean. Is there anything that could really dispute it in the books? I mean nothing proves it either, but it is possible, right?
Drew my friend (look for his instagram) dealing with a particular contract
I never read books, only seen tv series where all focus was given to yennefer as if she is the hero of the day while I heard from people who read the books that vilgefortz was the hero. But, what did he do? What kind of destruction he caused to Nilfgaard troops?
On the last book of The First Law series as a whole, The Wisdom of Crowds. I loved asoiaf and TFL, and was wondering if there’s any overlap with Witcher. I loved Witcher 3, but books wise I loved the overlapping povs of both asoiaf and TFL. I’m not married to that style, but I do enjoy a more realistic take on fantasy with real-world elements. Not a big fan kf LOTR/WOT type Fantasy, but Stormlight Archive certainly is on my TBR. Should I read witcher?
Everyone fears the wild hunt in the games and I was really interested while playing the first few acts in what they were going to be like. But when I got to the final act and had more and more encounters with them, they just felt like regular elves in armor.
Also I haven't read the novels yet but why does everyone call them wraiths? They're elves in scary armor. I thought I was going to be fighting some sort of higher being ghosts or smth. Imo very anticlimactic
I've been a Witcher fan since Wild Hunt's release and watched(W1/3)/played(W2) almost everything related to the franchise(still need to read the books tho, I bought The Last Wish years ago but I'm just lazy).
Anyway, now that I'm finally able to play this game, it has been a delight and I'm having so much fun. Started BaW two days ago and after releasing her from the wicht curse it was nice to see her staying at Corvo Bianco to cook stuff for us. I mean, we see Barnabas and even the godlings(Johnny and Sarah). She could've quickly appeared like they did.
These questions keep bothering me, so I’m interested to know if other people have answers, whether from the series or the books.
I know that people are going to tell me that the series is crap and to read the books but honestly, you’re not going to influence my choices one bit.
how were the men who attacked Ciri in the middle of the field the same boys she was playing knucklebones with the same day Cintra got sacked? Did they all go through a very fast puberty, or was Ciri on the run for years?
Why did Vilgefortz smash the wounded soldier‘s head open after he recovered consciousness after falling down the hill? Was he converted to Nilfgaardianism by Cahir or something?
TIA
I wish there was a way to toggle between Witcher Gear set appearances, while still keeping the stats. Idk if there is a mod for this but if there is I might be interested. I enjoy most Witcher Gear sets and the appearance differences between the crafting levels. I just wish we could switch visually between crafting levels because I feel like some of the Mastercrafted sets, while cool, can look a little crowded or gaudy.
I am huge fan of both The Witcher and The Hussite Trilogy so I want to know what other people like me would recommend. Of course I am not expecting any author or any book to be exactly like Sapkowski but I think it would be interesting to find out other works big fans of Sapkowski enjoy and maybe find something new to read.
Personally I would recommend for fans of The Witcher to check out The First Law -series by Joe Abercrombie. They are different but I think they are excellent and share a certain kind of grit in the writing.
Hey everyone!
I recently upgraded to the next-gen version of the game (coming from version 1.32), and I've noticed that Geralt’s character model looks grainy and glitchy, almost like it hasn't fully rendered. Has anyone experienced this or know of any fixes? I'd really appreciate any tips!
Thanks a lot!
