As we speak, not quite @ the 4 split yet....both bikes and cars have all 3/4 lanes blocked. Note: they didn't take the split so headed towards CT now.
Trying to plan my RI nostalgia trip with my twin. We’ll be staying in East Greenwich and hope to get a good list of restaurants-breakfast/lunch and dinner. Thanks!
My twin and I are coming to RI for a nostalgia tour. We left in 1978 and although I’ve been back, my twin has not. I was already sad to see that Solitro’s bakery has closed and that was a place we definitely wanted to go to. I remember my mom (who passed away last year) used to buy raviolis on Federal Hill back in the day. I was just a kid so I didn’t pay attention to where it was or the name. So asking for recommendations for great markets where we could by raviolis and sauce for old time’s sake.
I used to be a frequent user of this section. Are there any safety concerns?
Hi everyone! Looking for a place to have a fall beach bonfire with my partner. We usually go to Camp Cronin Fishing Area by Point Judith and have seen people having bonfires there, but I wasn’t sure if you need a permit for them. And if so, how do I obtain one and what is the waiting period to receive it? Much thanks in advance!
In high school, me and my buddies are looking for the best and scariest haunted house attraction, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great:)
Hello, I work in the coventry area and I am just so disheartened in regards to how little healthy food choices there are to eat and I don’t always have the time to make my own lunch.
I’m just looking for something as plain as plain chicken and rice/ healthy carb. Like a chicken bowl of sorts.
Thanks
⚠️ The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and DEM are advising people to avoid contact with Boone Lake in Exeter and Smith and Sayles Reservoir in Glocester due to blue-green algae (or cyanobacteria) blooms. Blue-green algae can produce toxins that can harm humans and animals. Use caution in all areas of Boone Lake and Smith and Sayles Reservoir. People should not ingest water or eat fish from the water. Pets can also be affected by exposure to algal toxins and thus owners should not allow pets to drink or swim in the water. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
What you should do:
• Avoid all recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating, and kayaking. • Do not let your pets swim or play in the water. • If you or your pet comes into contact with the water, wash with soap and water immediately. • If you or your pet becomes ill after contact with the water, contact your health professional.
RIDOH and DEM recommend lifting the cyanobacteria advisory for recreational activities at Worden Pond in South Kingstown and Carr Pond in North Kingstown. Recent consecutive surveys and sample analysis confirmed that blue-green algae has been present but at acceptably low levels and that cyanotoxin is not present in detectable concentrations. These findings meet the advisory guidelines and support lifting the advisory.
It is possible that blue-green algae blooms may be affecting other waterbodies in Rhode Island. People are advised to avoid contact with waterbodies that exhibit bright green coloration in the water or at the water surface and/or dense floating algal mats that form on the water's surface. The water may look like green paint, thick pea soup, or green cottage cheese.
To report suspected blue-green algae blooms, contact DEM's Office of Water Resources at 222-4700 or DEM.OWRCyano@dem.ri.gov and if possible, send a photograph of the reported algae bloom. For more information and current advisories, consult RIDEM’s website: www.dem.ri.gov/bluegreen.

I grew up with bakery pizza around Boston in the 80s and 90s, however the kind with cheese. It was some of the best pizza in the world.
I've been more inclined to "red pizza" the past years as I notice cheese hasn't been siting too well with me like it used to.
I was happy to find out Providence is big on "red pizza" or pizza strips as I found out they're called. Providence and South Philadelphia are the only 2 places that I know of where this style of red square is popular (for South Philly, my favorite is Sarcone's).
What is your list (in order) of favorite red pizza in R.I.?
Never learned much about local elections, I have no idea how to find out who’s running and what they represent.
Who are you voting for in the local elections and why?
I am picking up family members from Logan and tbh I haven’t driven there in 5 years. I am so worried about the traffic condition and the logistics of coming and going. I don’t drive a lot and barely leaves the state. Last time I drove there, I missed the exit and my car GPS kept making me loop due to not recognizing the new traffic flow.
Any guidance to make it easy for this anxious driver would help. Thanks!
Hey all. Back in my home state I used to go to Applebee's with my friends because of their special- half off apps after 10pm, but most importantly, beers and other drinks were 2 for 1. That meant 2 beers for like $4-5. Unfortunately the Applebees' up here don't seem to offer that same price effectiveness. With that said, are there any other places in the state that offer damn cheap food and beer? Quantity > quality in this situation lol. Preferably south county but I don't mind travelling up to an hour out of the way.
So if we treated them like market street in sf and put a brt from Newport to Quonset wouldn’t that solve the massive throughput problem without bulldozing Newport?
Needs to be safe, secure and dry. Even a garage could work. The noise level won’t be super loud. I work with video projection and music. 500-800 sqft or thereabouts. Can’t go above $500/mo and a 2-3 month rental is ideal, but would consider longer term. Thanks, Reddit!
Hi all. I bought a new house a little over a month ago. The roof was replaced about a year ago so I was caught by surprise when -last week’s rain storm led to water dripping from the attic! The roofers who replaced the roof just stopped by and said that it’s actually the broken vent cap that’s causing the leak (the ppl who flipped the house apparently said they didn’t want to replace the $20 piece so left an old one on there). They now say they can put a new vent cap up there for $400. Does this seem like a reasonable cost? I’m also pretty frustrated that in repairing the roof they wouldn’t have just replaced the old vent cap? Any thoughts? Thanks
Hoping someone can provide some help regarding registration for a 13' boat in Rhode Island. I am trying to buy a 13' whaler from someone who acquired the boat through the purchase of their home in NY. The boat was abandoned on the property. He never registered it, so if I were to try to register the boat, I would not have the appropriate paperwork required. Is there any way to get around this? I know I do not need Title for the boat since it is under 14', but I would need his registration paperwork. Please let me know if you have any ideas!
Fiancé and I live in Charlestown.. looking for cute towns to walk around - cafes, bars, farms we can visit etc. I know that’s pretty vague but it’s tough to find ideas with minimal criteria.😊
Good afternoon! I’m reaching out for some recommendations for tattoo artists in Rhode Island (or if you have an awesome recommendation to a close state). I want someone who is really awesome with thick black tattoos (I’m not into color). I’m open to any style, my current tattoo artist is a great guy but some of his work recently has been coming out not so good on other people so I’m worried about future appts. Thanks so much 🖤
We received an Amazon package (With our name & address)with a bunch of dog stuff instead of our dish racks and shower hooks. If you received it we can trade & avoid Amazon customer service.
Hi everyone,
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up soon, and I’m looking for recommendations for restaurants that serve high-quality Wagyu steak. If anyone knows of great places in Rhode Island or Massachusetts, I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you in advance!
Hello all, I’ll be driving through RI with my family tomorrow morning (New Haven to Boston). Please drop your recommendations on some good breakfast spots with a good number of vegetarian or vegan options. Better if they are in Providence.
Thanks in advance!
I ordered a duplicate copy of my registration because I lost it. This was end if August. Car was supposed to be inspected in August. (Didn't realize I lost it till I was going for inspection). Says 2 weeks when I submitted online payment. It's been 5 weeks and the dmv sent me the letter saying get it inspected by October 6th. Or the car will be suspended. How did they not see on my file I paid for another before sending that letter? I have still not received the duplicate and every number on the site is an automated recording. Everytime I've ever gone they want an up to date registration. What are my options? Need to get this done this week.
Hi all,
I’m visiting family in Providence weekend after next. We’re doing a haunted house one night, but I’m wondering if anyone knows any good daytime Halloween events in the area. We’d be game for some kind of Halloween-themed reenactment village, or a fall fest, or anything with that kind of autumnal feel.
We’ve done a few corn mazes in the area before and kept being disappointed, but of course if you know a good one, let me know.
This “Sleepy Hollow” reenactment is exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for, but it’s not running when we’re there.
Thanks in advance!
