Dedicated to the preservation and shared enjoyment of one of the earth's most trafficked, and most awesome species.
Welcome to the subreddit dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of the Pangolin.
A Pangolin is a mammal comprising eight species, with four living in Asia and four in Africa.
They are heavily hunted for their scales (made from keratin) to be used in herbal remedies, and this has lead to the species being critically endangered.
You can read more about the efforts to save them on their conservation group.

Hi Pinecone Fans, as y'all know, Pangolins are drastically underfunded, and the trafficking won't stop until there's more support and funding. I am running a virtual 5K for World Pangolin Day and created a GoFundMe. Would anybody be interested in joining the virtual 5K run/walk/roll to help raise money for World Pangolin Day? Fundraising goal could be between $100 - $250/person. Here's the GoFundMe link. If you're interested, comment below or send me a DM with your email! Please feel free to send any suggestions my way as well.
Hey y'all,
I made a post last week about potential volunteer/fundraising opportunities for Pangolins. I've been thinking... wouldn't it be cool if we built a team from this Reddit page and started/ran a virtual 5k fundraiser this summer for a charity that best supports Pangolins?
There are some very intelligent people helping Pangolins already, but they simply lack the funding to implement all the projects needed to save them.
I'm sharing a 3 question SurveyMonkey in case you may be interested in discussing this further.

Hey y'all,
I recently discovered the Pangolin and absolutely fell in the love. The lack of awareness, education, and fundraising (by a longshot) is severely concerning.
What opportunities would there be to volunteer? Has anybody held small fundraisers in their community? Maybe a nationwide 5k of sorts to support a specific, qualified nonprofit helping pangolins? Would love to know your thoughts and how we can help these walking pinecones.
Hi all,
I'm curious about funding a trading pool, and wondering what the expected effect will be to significantly increase a pool, by say 100-200%? Will this tank the return?
Thanks.
