Had a dream where I took care of a sick Bobcat and adopted him the other night. Was so sad when I woke up to find out it was just a dream…

An Iberian lynx gives birth to her litter in shed by a house

Last week, the owner of a house in the Spanish Valley of Matachel heard some noises coming from his shed; believing that some house cat would have given birth to her cubs in a that place, he approached the wooden box where the noises came from and discovered that he was partly right: it was a litter, but it belonged to an Iberian lynx.

It’s the first time that an Iberian lynx gives in a place inhabited by humans. The owner of the house alerted the authorities and the cubs are already under surveillance. It is noteworthy that the Iberian lynx is one of the most endangered mammal species in the world, but thanks to the efforts of the Portuguese and Spanish governments the numbers have risen from the 94 individuals in 2002 to more than 1300 nowadays.

You cand find the news in Spanish here, with a video of the cubs.
