Hi everyone! I'll be heading to Leiden University in the Netherlands next semester for an exchange, from February to July, and I wanted to get some insight into the weather during that time.

I've noticed that my mood is "pretty sensitive" to sunlight—If the climate is nice, with clear skies, good air quality, beautiful, and spacious scenery, I tend to feel energetic.
But if it's often cloudy or rainy, I tend to feel pretty down and even a bit of a mess.

How’s the weather in Leiden during those months? Should I expect a lot of rain and cloudy days, or are there enough sunny breaks? Any advice on adjusting to the Dutch weather?

Ik rijd vaak over de Plesmanlaan en erger me vaak aan de grote hoeveelheid struiken en planten die een deel van de linkerbaan in beslag nemen met als gevolg dat je genoodzaakt bent om dicht tegen of zelfs voor een klein deel op de rechterbaan te rijden. Dit lijkt mij niet handig en gevaarlijk en snap ook niet dat dit al heel lange tijd zo is (weet eigenlijk niet beter dan dat het zo is) en de gemeente hier niks aan doet. Hoe denken jullie hierover?

How late in the year do terraces typically stay open here, do they close? I saw they close earlier starting November 1st in Amsterdam and am wondering if that also applies in Leiden.

I'm currently enrolled in the Public International Law LL.M. program at Leiden University and need concrete advice on how to excel in my upcoming exams in International Criminal Law (taught by Robert Heinsch) and Public International Law (taught by Mamadou Hébié and Daniëlla Dam-de Jong), scheduled for November 20 and 22, respectively.

What study techniques would you recommend for these subjects? Is it important to memorize a lot of material, or is there a more effective approach? How can I access previous years' exam papers to practice answering similar questions and improve my time management? Also, how can I identify the key topics to focus on?

Hallo hallo, Ik wil eigenlijk wat vaker in leuke cafe's/plekken studeren maar dat heb ik tot nu toe eigenlijk nooit echt gedaan. Weten jullie plekken die hier geschikt voor zijn? Mijn concentratieboog is niet meer dan 1.5/2 uur anyway dus langer dan dat zal het niet zijn.

I'd actually like to study at cafe's/nice places more often but have never really done it before. Do you guys by any chance know suitable places for this?

We are going to move soon to the Professorenwijk district. We need the parking spot for moving in front of our house as we will move items also via an elevator. I know it is free parking for all, and most of the days when I have walked in the area I have seen a car at that spot.

How can we block off the parking spot? Something like putting cones at the spot or something else?
