Geboren en getogen mug hier, al generaties leeft mijn familie in deze contreien. Nu ben ik heb ik meerdere Haarlemmers en familieleden weleens de opmerking horen maken:

• ik stak de poppetjes moord. Of..
• ik stikte de poppetjes moord

Vaak in de context dat iemand zich verslikt of verstikte in iets, dat men niet meer goed kan ademen iig. Maar nu is mijn vraag. Is dit een typisch Haarlemse uitdrukking? Zijn er meer muggen die deze uitdrukking kennen? En zo ja waar komt dit in godsnaam vandaan? Op internet is er nagenoeg niks over te vinden (of ik zoek niet goed 😅).

This bike was stolen approximately 30 minutes ago in front of the Action at Westergracht. I was in for less than 10 minutes and found the lock cut. The bikes has quite a particular design and misses the computer (detachable) meaning they can't use it with assistance not lights.

In case anybody sees it...

Ps: already called the police, not so much to do other than filing a report online.

I am searching for a gym buddy -- because sometimes I feel so unmotivated to actually drag myself out of the door to go to the gym. I am going to SportCity Spaarneboog -- mostly to group classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening (sometimes on Saturday mornings as well).

Is anyone familiar with the intact male Akita and its male owner? City center/Kenaupark.

He made several threats to me and my dog and I’m curious whether anyone has encountered him or has had altercations with him.

Because I got a few dms, the man in question yelled at me in the street AND he inquired at the pet shop near my house asking where I live, it took me a minute to respond.

I own a dog and him and the Akita never seemed to like each other. Both their posture changes and they have growled and barked at each other. Which is fine. People also don’t allll like each other.

So when I see him and his Akita I change direction, often before they even see one another.

Off leash my dog likes everyone, sized chihuahua to Great Dane. Yet, this gentleman decides to walk his dog on the lead in Kenaupark, one of the few places in the center where dogs are allowed off leash. I know this, so I always check beforehand if he’s there because I know our dogs aren’t into eachother.

A couple weeks ago I unfortunately didn’t see him and our dogs had an altercation. I ran over there and my dog stopped engaging pretty much right away.

I deeply regret not seeing him on time and that my dog picked a fight. However, this man started yelling and threatening me straight away so there was absolutely zero space for an apology from me or decent conversation.

He threatened to take his dog off lead “to see what would happen”.

I felt very unsafe for my dog and myself.

Since then I’ve heard from more dog owners that his dog is not friendly at all and even though I regret what happened, I don’t agree that it’s my responsibility entirely.

Walking a dog on the lead in one of the few places where dogs can run free seems like a strange thing to do. Especially when there’s a power imbalance when one dog is on the lead and the other isn’t. When roaming around free, dogs are able to avoid each other when they’re not a match. Knowing my dog I am absolutely positive it wouldn’t have escalated the way it did if they were both off lead.

On the street when I saw him without his dog he yelled at me and said “I shouldn’t have kids or dogs” and more unsavory comments. I said if a decent conversation isn’t possible, I wouldn’t have one at all.

All in all it’s a deeply unsettling situation for me because of the threatening nature of this gentleman. Like I said, I regret not seeing him on time to leash my dog when he was in Kenaupark, but there was zero space for a civilized conversation.

Haarlem is natuurlijk de mooiste stad van Nederland. 10/10.
