As per title. I was looking at travelling to Asia for the first time. I looked at flying out from Leeds as it’s closer than Manchester and thinking that the whole journey will be almost 18h I could save a couple of hours by avoiding Manchester, which still has Paris connection. Have you done something similar? How’s Amsterdam as a connection? I’ve heard it’s a big airport and some of these flights allow only 1h30m transfer time but it doesnt feel like it’s enough.
Hello! I'm moving to Leeds by the end of April and I'm looking for recreational or amateur volleyball leagues. So far, I've only found the Leeds Gorse Volleyball Club, which seems quite serious. I'm looking for something more chill. I'm trying to see if there would be enough interest in renting a court once or twice a week to play. Let me know if anyone is interested or knows of any places where volleyball is happening. Thanks!
I'm coming to Leeds in January for a school semester abroad from Montreal, Canada. I'd like some general tips to ease my nerves. What are some noticeable cultural differences I should prepare for? What's the weather like from january-may? How can I get affordable home game tickets?!
What happen near asda house bus stop, I can see police there since morning
What's the going price for a 3 bed semi detached in Leeds?
Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice regarding a property I own in the Gipton area. It’s a 3-bed semi-detached house with a driveway, a large garden, and no garage. I’m considering selling but haven’t made up my mind yet. Online estimates and estate agents suggest it could go for over £220k. I am incredibly skeptical but really not sure! Hate to commit and find out the hard way.
Has anyone recently sold a similar property in North East Leeds? Would love to hear about your experience or any insights you might have.
Thanks in advance!
Amazon’s is super expensive like £12 for 5 Are there any all year round fireworks shops in Leeds? Thanks

I am a keen cricketer in the summer (village level) and looking to get some practice in over the winter. Anyone on here up for booking a weekly indoor net session? or any indoor cricket teams looking for players?
I’ve been living in Woodhouse for nearly 2 years, and since moving here, I’ve consistently heard cars revving, screeching tyres, and general engine noise coming from the Woodhouse Lane Car Park. It seems to be a popular meet-up spot for petrolheads, especially late at night.
It happens about once or twice a week and doesn’t seem to go on too late, but it’s still pretty disruptive being so close to a residential area. I can see the benefit of keeping it to one spot, but it’s definitely not ideal for those of us living nearby.
My question is: Is this something that’s officially sanctioned? Do the police know about it and just turn a blind eye, maybe preferring it to happen here rather than on the main roads?
Also saw this that made me wonder if the meet-ups officially sanctioned: https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/news/leeds-news/hundreds-petrolheads-pack-leeds-car-22513825
Any reccommendations of an inexpensive nail place in town that isn't cash only?
Bonus points for if there's no modern slavery vibe 🙃
Hi folks, I'm in the very early stages of planning a fundraiser for Alder Hey hospital. I'm going to cycle from Liverpool to get a tattoo of the Alder Hey elephant, then cycle home again.
It is a tribute to my 2yo, and to the staff of Alder Hey and the amazing things they've done since her birth to keep her alive, happy and healthy.
I've found a great artist in Leeds who I hope will be doing the tattoo (paid).
Not exactly the most epic undertaking but a 160 mile round trip with a tattoo in the middle of it is a pretty big goal for an unfit 40yo like myself.
I wonder whether any hotels in the city could donate a room for a couple of nights to reduce expenses?
TIA x

Not sure from when, but it's back
hello everyone, i’m kinda new to leeds and i have a date with someone and i want to plan a golf, arcade, bowling and then a nice classy restaurant type of date/vibe if u have any recommended spots please drop it on the comments :)
Don't know who to contact at LCC. Online form is no help as doesn't list our issue.
Moved in 4 weeks ago, both bins were full to brim of waste from previous tenant and / or estate agent (property has been vacant over a year before we moved in so it's been there a long time). First week they didn't take the green bin we weren't sure why. They also haven't taken it this week either but they did look in it. Assumption is they see something they don't want in the recycling (just a guess as we dont know whats in it) however it isn't our rubbish. Wasn't disclosed before moving so now we are stuck with it. But I am absolutely not going to touch someone else's waste with no knowledge of what might be in there and possibly sat there outdoors up to a year. It's definitely not safe to do so.
No hate to the bin men just doing their job but what am I to do about this? Is there a contact that isn't a click through form?
Hiya, I’m a young professional working in leeds, just looking to see if anyone would be up for a friendly tennis game on the weekends. I’m a beginner so ideally someone on the same level too who wants to get better.
Hi everyone, sorry if this isn't the right place to post this and I'm happy to take this down if it violates any rules but I recently dropped out of uni because I absolutely hated my course and the overall uni but I can't cancel my accommodation contract with unite students without a replacement tenant.
I'm looking for someone to take over my flat in White Rose View opposite the merrion centre, its £229 per week with all bills included and an en-suite, definitely a bit steep but it is the perfect location to be, 10 min walk from all unis, 10 min from Trinity, 5-10 min walk to good clubs, bars, pubs etc and a really social area with spoons at the next building over and disco spoons within a 5 min walk. All my flatmates are absolutely lovely and range from ages 18 - 21, they're quite social and are always up for doing something or having cozy nights in. There are quite often events in the whole building like free bubble tea, bingo nights, communal area parties and there are bookable screen rooms, karaoke rooms and LOTS of study areas. There is also circuit laundry on site and vending machines with snacks and drinks all over the building.
I'll post some pictures below, reply or message me if you're interested :)
I’m in Leeds this Thursday and Friday night with not much to do. A tad of anxiety especially in new places but I’m hoping to ignore that
Ideally somewhere with live music - prefer rock (but not indie or metal) or funk (but not house) but I’m fairly open
I’ve looked at a couple of the blues bars but online pics make them look heaving - I don’t mind being packed in but not when I’m alone. LGBTQ+ friendly is important but not the focus
I’m generally chill once I’m settled but finding new places in a new city on my own is a bit intense for me - takes me a while to find comfort. If anyone is in a similar boat I’d be happy to meet up
Appreciating this is an irritating post to make but I’m trying anyway!
As I was cycling home last night, including diversion because I can’t cycle past the Christmas market at city square in case drunk people wander into the cycle lane, I noted that each crossing has two people with a length of tape, stopping people walking into the road when the crossing is on red.
This was at 4.30, are people getting that drunk at 4.30 at the Christmas market that they can’t use crossings anymore? Also, is this council funded?
I won’t be going back home for Christmas and so was wondering what things I could do in Leeds alone. All my friends are back home and I’m not sure where to go. Are there any places I could volunteer? Any nice place to go for walks or visit? Thanks in advance
A warning for anyone driving into town on East Street, there's a new speed camera just at the start of the 30mph limit outside Rose Wharf.
I'm considering putting an offer in on a house on the north side of Woodhouse but I've only lived in Leeds a year, so as much as I've gone for drives around the area and walked around it and searched this Reddit, it's hard to get a true sense of what it's like. I think I know the stereotype/vibe of Woodhouse from approx 5/10 years ago but cannot tell it's still the same or if it has changed - what I'm hearing is that Woodhouse has the stereotype of being rough and student-y. Is that still the case? I understand that it's becoming a bit less student-y, is that true? Is is still felt to be rough/unsafe?
I'd love some honest answers. Thank you
Anyone know what's up? There's about 50 police cars here.
I am going on a date and wanted to know where I can get cheap pints and ciders, since the both of us are students I wanted to know the best place for it.
