Hi all, I transplanted a few mulberries that were in great shape, but drooped badly overnight after transplanting. They did have some roots that went down through the pot into the dirt that I had to cut. They were also getting pretty bound up inside their pots so I was a little rough on them during removal from the pots.
Given the circumstances and time of year, is there anything I should do? Maybe just let them doe back a little? Thank you.
front yard (left and right patches)
large stretch to the right of home
This is a rental property, so would prefer to keep things relatively low maintenance, but also still have some curb appeal & a nice front yard for the folks living there.
There are 2 patches of dirt in the front (left & right of the red brick path)
And there is 1 large stretch of yard on the right-side of the home — we can't decide if we want to do a mix of gravel & grass, or just grass, etc. Also what color gravel and/or flowers would look the nicest against the beige home?

We moved into this townhome and our back patio is meh. Currently, it’s a whole concrete slab that’s elevated, so it’s got a step and pathway. It’s got cracks and low spots where water pools when it rains. It’s both on the elevated part and the walkway. The plant area is not good- it used to be rocks and now it’s those wood chips, but the weeds are relentless. I actually don’t really care for plants, so if I were to redo it, I’d like raised planter boxes.
It’s my dream to have a nice hangout area for my family where my young kids can play and there’s a sitting area. I’d like to get rid of the concrete and make everything one level. Any suggestions on what to do with it? Is it possible to put a pergola or should it just be a sunshade? Is half decking or paver with artificial turf a good idea? How much can I do as a beginner with no experience, but handy? Looking for cost-friendly ideas for how to make it so it’s a cool hangout space for adults and little kids.
Hi.
What is the cheapest and best way to prevent weeds and make it a usable space?
Please give some ideas.
Looking to add a walkway from driveway to base of the stairs (near the red part of the house). Can anyone recommend a type of paver that would work well with the historic feel of the house. It dates back to the 1750’s.
I came across this stone retaining wall and absolutely love it. I don't think it's faux stone or stone veneer - I think it might be fieldstone. Can someone help me ID and confirm?
I need to replace a failing retaining wall of railroad ties and this is the style I'd like to go for. The wall is relatively short (3 ft height X 2 ft depth), but long (~68 ft). I assume that's a fairly straightforward effort like any retaining wall, but am I wrong? Does this require special considerations that you don't have to worry about with wall blocks?
The one catch is that I have a pretty sturdy patio wall the prior owners installed. I don't like the façade at all (except the moss, I love the freakin' moss) -- the face is kind of standard wall block. What options would I have if I wanted to replicate the look of that "fieldstone" wall for consistency? Would I have to take this wall down and rebuild? Maybe but thin cut fieldstone as a veneer over it?
Appreciate any professional thoughts!
We are new to this home and the front is really needing some TLC. Would like to zero scape, what color rock would go best? What plants would you recommend? In the Phoenix/Zone 9b area. Thank you!
I have a very large Pond on my property that I want to clean up. It has a little island on it as well. What are some things I can do on the edge of the pond? What are things I can grow that look nice, it's pretty woody.
The edge ebbs and flows with rain, so sometimes the dip is larger than when it had more water.
Hello, I am almost ready to install an open french drain with proper subsoil grading away from the foundation (3.5 to 4ft). While thinking through the project, I thought about installing presloped plastic trenches with mesh cover instead of perforated PVC. I can punch holes at the bottom of those trenches just like perforated PVC. The advantage is surface water drains quickly and I get easy access to clean. It will be costly for sure, but any other issues with the approach that I am not thinking through? I am assuming the gravel is enough to tighly hold the trenches. Any gotchas, or is this really a bad idea?
I really like this bush/tree that I see here in Round Rock, Texas, on a nearby street. I took pictures of it and tried to define what it is, exactly but I don't seem to find the exact match. I'd like to purchase a few, if possible.
What is throwing me off is the type of "leaf". This isn't a flat leaf but a round as in the 1st pic.
Thanks in advance.
Can someone please help me identify these shrubs or whatever they may be. They were on each side of my garage door & were destroyed by a recent tornado that hit our home.
I’m doing a study and want to see different ways of tracking equipment maintenance. Would anyone be willing to share your equipment maintenance tracking logs, documents, photos, screen shots or other info?
I’m looking to see how this info is captured and logged to hopefully create a new way of.
