Nicks Music

Happy to debate this with anyone but is it just me that feels like Nicks music since he left (solo and with his new band) is so much better than the music Kaiser Chiefs have made with the exception of EER&W. I do like Duck too but I think nicks stuff is better

Napster/Limewire

I remember being drunk, playing RTCW and World of Warcraft, downloading music on Limewire and Napster in the early 2000s. I seem to remember hunting bootleg/demo versions of songs and Kaiser Chiefs were one of the bands (I think). Now I seem to recall versions released before anything official was released, and then being a bit rockier/indie rock and just a bit more raw than when they were released as singles/album. Am I going mad/old and alcoholic or was this the case? And if so, is there anywhere I could get these versions? Don't get me wrong, seen them live multiple times, got the albums but I remember feeling I liked the rougher pre release "leaks" (promo by the record label or otherwise) more than the eventual official release.

Kaiser Chiefs since Nick left.

Please don't hate me but I personally feel like I haven't enjoyed a single Kaiser Chiefs album since Nick left the band, and I know that was a long time ago now.

I know bands change their musical direction and all that but I really miss the Indie anthem days of the first three albums.

Saying that, a big part of me wants to see the boys live again. I haven't seen them in concert since Nick left. Heck, my first ever concert was seeing the boys in 2007 at Earls Court in London. Wow, to think I was only 14 then and now I'm nearing 31!

COVER ALBUM?

Okay so TWO THINGS:

• I wanna know who’s coming to the Winter Garden, Eastbourne show! What songs are you hoping to hear? I need that Job Centre Shuffle to be honest 🩵

• would anyone be interested if I was to create an entire album of covers of the KC, but specifically the slightly less popular ones…? I’m talking tunes like Meanwhile Up In Heaven, Job Centre Shuffle, My Place Is Here, Why Do You Do It To Me, Team Mate etc. Please do let me know of any rare gems you think would sound cool!🕺

Why is 'Start The Revolution Without Me' not considered a studio album

After seeing that 8 albums have already been released by them (Employment, Yours Truly, Angry Mob, Off With Their Heads, The Future Is Medieval, Start The Revolution Without Me, Education, Education, Education & War, Stay Together, Duck), and that they called their new album 'Kaiser Chiefs' Easy Eighth Album', I had to go back and see which album wasn't included as a official release and saw that it was 'Start The Revolution Without Me'.

Anyone know why that is?

employment not on apple music

noticed employment is not on the band’s apple music at all; i can only listen to a few songs off of movie soundtracks lol. looking online i’ve noticed that there have been a few issues with their albums being unplayable before but i haven’t seen anything about this particular case (just one apple support request from a few years ago), since it has completely disappeared from their profile (still viewable in my library, but greyed out and unplayable). was wondering if anyone has noticed the same thing and if this is just some kind of issue i’ll have to wait to be fixed? im a really casual listener of the band so idk if this is just something they like to do or what lol.

For those of you here who saw the band live, where & when did you first see them live, & at what venue? Have you gone back to see them multiple times since then?

I have never seen the band live myself.

Employment came out 3 days before my 6th birthday, and Yours Truly came out when I was 7. Off with their heads came out when I was 9, and The Future Is Medieval came out when I was 12. EEEAW came out when I was 15 and Stay Together came out when I was 17. Duck came out when I was 20.

The first few times they came near to where I live in the U.S. under the Kaiser Chiefs name was when they played the Mercury Lounge on February 14th, 2005 (I was 5 years old then), then they played at the Late Show with David Letterman on March 30th, 2005 (I was 6 years old) then at the Bowery Ballroom on March 25th, 2005 (again I was 6 years old), then finally at Webster Hall on July 21st, 2005 (yet again I was 6 years old), whilst they were on their Employment tour, but I was too young to see them plus two of those nights were school nights. The next time they came near me was when they played at the Roseland Ballroom on April 12th, 2007 (I was 8 years old), and then at the Beacon Theatre on September 29th, 2007 (again I was 8 years old), when they were on their Yours Truly tour. Again, too young, plus one of those nights was a school night. The next time they came near me was when they played two shows at Madison Square Garden on July 27th-28th, 2009 (I was 10 years old), whilst they were on their Off With Their Heads tour. I was too young for those shows, again. Then the next time they came was when they played at Terminal 5, on March 8th, 2012 (two days before my 13th birthday, so I was 12 years old), and then when they played at the Late Show with David Letterman on April 11th, 2012 (I was 13 years old), during their Start the Revolution Without Me Tour. I was finally old enough to go, but both of those nights were school nights, so I couldn’t go. Then the next time they played near me was at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 19th, 2014 (I was 14 years old), then they played at Webster Hall on June 20th, 2014 (I was 15 years old), then they played at Vapor on June 22nd, 2014 (I was 15 years old), and then they played at the Irving Plaza on May 13th, 2015 (I was 16 years old) all on their EEEAW tour. Again, old enough to go, but some of the dates fell on school nights or I was away at summer camp.

They haven’t played near me since then, and it’s been nearly 10 years since they last played here. I really would like to see them, though.
