Hi..
I think I'm in deep shit.
French traveler who lives in Luxembourg.
I'm flying from Costa Rica to Kingston in 1hour.
I've been told at the check in that I must submit a visa in the website enterjamaica.com.
Problem they refuse my adress...for the city field is wrote Luxembourg (which is the capital of Luxembourg)
And they refused it.
May I still applied directly at the Kingston airport ?
Hey everyone,
Anyone have any idea how much it might cost to build/finish a 288 sqft (or 12 ft by 24 ft) room in Mobay?
To give context: this area will be the kitchen and living room. It's being built on top of a house. I'm hoping to get some idea of how much the total costs will be to: get it built, tile the floor, put in necessary plumbing, buy the kitchen cabinet and dual sink (we can install them ourselves), and put in 1 window and back door.
Already received quotes for $1300-$1400 (JMD) per 100 blocks. But I don't know how much sqft 100 blocks will cover. And then there's the materials and everything else.
Would anyone happen to have any idea of how much something like this might cost?
Looking for a good cleaning company or person in Kingston. Preferably one that already has ig or fb or reviews online.
Hi everyone, I have the opportunity to do my master internship in an interesting position in Jamaica for 6 months. I would like to know how's the life of a 22y European boy in Jamaica. I've already lived abroad and I would like to know how hard it is to socialize in a country where I'm completely alone and my colleagues will be twice my age. Thanks !
I told my friend that what her fiancé said isn’t a cultural thing. She told me I am overreacting bc her future MIL says it’s normal stuff all Jamaicans say in relationships?? Her thought was these things were said in arguments and he was angry. Later he told her he was joking? I said it’s going a little far though. I asked her if past bfs said stuff like this in arguments and she said no.
“if you ever leave me I’ll kill you”
“I should beat you for that”
Y’all they were arguing about house chores. I think it’s going too far and telling of how the relationship maybe once they are married. So I’m confused bc the MIL said that it was a cultural thing, which threw me off.
My friend and I are black Americans. I’ve been married to a Jamaican man for 10 years and he hasn’t said anything like this to me in an argument. Am I trippin?
I have a 1 year old(Indian) and I'm unable to find anybody in Kingston to cut his hair. Any recommendations? Also..a barber which uses scissors and not a trimmer would be preferable.
“Hey y’all, I’m currently talking to a Jamaican man—technically second-gen American since his mom immigrated here, but his dad is back in Jamaica (long story). Anyway, I’ve been seeing all over Reddit, Twitter, and TikTok that Jamaican men will treat you right, spoil you, cook, clean… but also definitely cheat.
I went on a date with him recently, and we had an amazing time—so much laughter and joy. He makes time for me, and I genuinely enjoy his company. But I can’t lie, the whole ‘Jamaican men always cheat’ thing is in the back of my mind. Then again, a lot of men cheat in general, so I’m wondering—should I even let that stereotype affect how I move forward?
Would love to hear some insight from people who’ve dated Jamaican men before. Should I keep going with this or proceed with caution? Thanks!”**
Where can I sell a vr headset in jamaica?
These chemtrails, contrails, whatever... Are happening more and more in the past few years, are you concerned?
I lived and worked in St James and Portland 2002-2006. At the time, the political climate in the states and the entire world for that matter lead me to not advertise the fact that I was American. Now here we are again with this madness of re energized Trumpism. I live in the south I want to get as far away from the bigotry that has been given a new life. My feeling is and always has been that the best place to avoid racist and xenophobic conservative. Americans would be Portland because it doesn’t share the proximity to all inclusive “safe” feeling hotels found further west, additionally so much of the population doesn’t look and sound like white America…something that evokes fear in conservatives. I love Jamaica and its people. I lived with a Jamaican woman for eight years and have many Jamaican friends with whom I remain close. Additionally, my granddaughter’s family on her father‘s side are a well-known Jamaican family with deep roots, and she enjoys dual citizenship. I haven’t been back a yard and nearly a decade, and I’m hoping someone can offer some insight on the current climate and attitude towards American expats
Out of all of the Dancehall artists to have mainstream success what made him so different? I remember him being everywhere for so many years. Compared to Dancehall artists of the 90s him and Shaggy have the most success but I've always wondered what made Sean Paul so different? Sean paul, shaggy, Shabba Ranks are the most popular Jamaican dancehall artist that I can think of who had mainstream success but Sean was the biggest.
While recently staying at one of the RIU resorts in Jamaica, I noticed there are alot of Cubans working there. The nurses, some management etc…I also learnt there are some Cuban doctors in Kingston as well. Might be a stupid question- but I’m just wondering is it because the close proximity to Jamaica why Cubans decide to work in Jamaica ? Is Jamaica economically better ? Would love some insight thank you. I also noticed some Indians that own shops in Montego Bay. Some of them told me they’ve been living in Jamaica for Years!! It was so interesting to hear
