Are there any Marathons in Grenada? I remember a spice marathon years ago, but not sure if its still hosted.
I’m on the island this weekend and was wondering where to find good music and vibes on a Saturday night? Preferably by Grand Anse beach.
My family and I are planning to visit Grenada next year in April, and I'm indecisive about whether I should stay at Coyaba or True Blue Resort. Any suggestions?
I’m considering relocating from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to Grenada, as I’ve visited the island many times. Do you have any advice or tips before I start planning the move?
We're thinking about doing our honeymoon in Grenada. I'm not familiar with the food on the island. I have an allergy to Peanuts and treenuts. Does a lot of food in Grenada contain nuts? Is it used a lot in food? Thanks in advanced
Tt
I've been looking at houses and unless it's a house for millions I've rarely seen air conditioning as part of the houses. Most have ceiling fans and mosquito nets around the beds. Is the cost of electricity prohibitive or is it unnecessary as the houses are on elevated and/or by the beach and there are lots of breeze or is it a cultural thing. For those who can guesstimate, how much would electricity for two 12x12 bedrooms cost if used only at night.
The title really is the question. A space with 4 rooms total.
Thanks! Specific if it is in USD or ECD.
I did check the sub ahead of time but there’s nothing dedicated to this topic. I was dreaming of coming to Grenada in March but saw something about how bad the mosquitos are and I’m wondering about that. Is it just the regular amount of mosquitos you’d get in any tropical place? Or a serious annoyance?
I’m one of those people that mosquitos love to bless with their kisses 🙄. Obviously will bring everything I need but are you able to sit on the beach without constant swatting and buzzing?
Thanks in advance! 🦟
I am looking to do a day trip around the island on a skippered boat with a party of 8. Any recommendations? I'd like for it to be 6-8 hours and hopefully under $1000 (without food is fine)
Hello! Just wanted to drop this here incase anyone is looking for a super fun and chill cruise in Grenada this one is super unique- I’ll link their website here as well. It’s a traditionally made wooden sloop! www.savygrenada.com
Hi all. American here, looking at options for a second passport. Of the Caribbean islands that participate in the Citizenship by Investment program, Grenada is my favorite. I'm wondering if anyone on here has come to Grenada from the US and what were the main stumbling blocks for you. I travel within the Caribbean frequently for work.
Pretty incredible! Most of St Georges and St Patrick are visible.
Looking to buy a used car in Grenada. Any recommendations for the best used car dealers to check out? Or is Facebook marketplace the best place to find something?
Looking to spend a week long vacation here with family of 4. How is the island post hurricane? Eyeing some beautiful beachfront Airbnbs. Looking to relax, swim, snorkel and dine! Is a week too long for the island or split time with Grenada?
Hello lovely people! I'm (45,f) from Trinidad and hoping to move to Grenada next year to live. Crime in Trinidad is my prime motivation for leaving and I'm exploring what life would be like for my dad and husband who would be moving with me. We're looking to sell our property in Trinidad to fund buying a property in Grenada. So we have a few priorities concerning possible location options:
Given those parameters, where would you recommend?
I am 17 and planning to visit Grenada in May. I found conflicting information online on if the drinking age is 16 or 18. Can someone please confirm.
Hi everyone!
I am moving to Grenada next week (13th November) from the UK and will be bringing my dog. He will be flying as cargo on the same plane as me. He has all the necessary vaccines and we are now trying to arrange his final veterinary check to get a Defra (UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) Export Permit. This permit requires an Import Permit Number from Grenada.
I have been in touch with the Ministry of Agriculture Veterinary Division but they require all other documents to be finalised before they issue an Import Certificate. A bit of a chicken and egg situation…
The ministry have now emailed to say they will provide a temporary certificate but have not sent anything through. I haven’t had any luck calling and it is now after hours. I have everything crossed hoping I’ll hear back tomorrow and can then get a vet appointment on Friday.
For those of you who have successfully brought a furry friend into the country, how did you manage to get an import number assigned?
Hello all, my mom has been traveling back and forth to Grenada but I have not been able to come up with a conclusion on this. Is the beauty industry particularly in eyelash extensions profitable on the island? I have been considering to move there for the past few month’s making plans, but instead I have been looking into expanding my education into hospitality but today I thought why not ask about the industry I know well!
What I ask of you all is perhaps, give me your opinion based on what you see and then what you learned after asking around? Thank you for your help!
Hey!
This is for anyone who speaks, understands or wants to learn Grenadian Creole!
I’d love to start learning it next year (I’m giving myself about two months to prepare and finish Portuguese, which I’m currently learning).
If you have any tips for learning it, know where to find resources, or wanna drop any words or phrases here, please feel free!
I know that St. Lucian and Dominican creole(s) is/are similar to the one spoken in Grenada- even though it is currently dying out. So again, any words or phrases from these two creoles are also welcome! x
Hiya, I have a podcast where I talk about my experiences learning different languages.
I’m based in the UK and of Grenadian and Trinidadian heritage. I know that they have their own dialects of creole but they’re dying out and are no longer as popular.
Long story short, I would love to start learning Grenadian creole and to start making podcast episodes about it, however I’m having trouble rounding up learning materials.
I know that St. Lucian and Dominican Creole(s) are the most similar to Grenadian, so I’ve thought about learning those. But I would love it even more to know the creole that my grandmother spoke.
If anyone knows where or how I can learn it, I’d be very grateful!
Hi, i collect postcards, but I don’t have one from Grenada. May I ask if someone can send me one?
Also my birthday is this month, so a birthday card that speaks about Grenada’s culture is fine too 🙂
Hi Grenada locals! My wife and I are planning to be on your beautiful island for a honeymoon in a couple of weeks (November 13-22). The weather forecast says it’s likely to rain from 11am-4pm every day, with mostly grey skies. Is this true?
We don’t mind the rain so much, but we are hoping it won’t be grey all day and that we can enjoy the beach/sunshine a good amount.
Should we be concerned?
Thank you so much for any insight you can share!
(And btw, how do YOU pronounce “Grenada”? I have heard it several different ways and want to be correct :)
Planning a honeymoon for the first week of October 2025 to this lovely island. I realize it's hurricane season but geography of the island doesn't have big storms hitting that far south most times. One in every 20 years or so the island will get hit. I know Berly just went through this year so I wouldn't expect another coming that low in quite some time. With that being said, if a hurricane does not approach the island during said timeframe, how is the weather generally in October? Not afraid of some rain, especially since it's more of a rain forest type of place, but hoping the sun is out after the morning rain showers so we can enjoy the beach, pools, and some great spots.
Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Grenada. My questions are:
What is more popular? PC or console?
What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?
What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!
What do racing game fans in Grenada play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)
In general, what games are played there?
Thanks for your responses!!!!
Hello!
Ill be visiting Grenada (from usa) with 1-2 family members for 10 days including New Years Eve.
I planned on staying in an Air Bnb. My questions were
Which currency should I use? Will my debit card work?
What are some must see/do things? Any notable New Years celebrations?
Any tips on making the trip easier or local tips to fully enjoy the trip?
Thanks so much for your help!
