Basically the idea that big companies have armies of bots/viral marketers pretending to be happy customers to boost the reputation of their brands. Alternatively is the idea of the anti-shill who is paid by a big company to pretend to be someone unhappy with the competitor's good or service
Is this an actual real thing? I often hear people claim that all of company X's good reviews come from shills, but I have never actually seen proof. The inner skeptic in me says that if so many companies actually had armies of paid reviewers and fake commenters, it would get leaked somehow
Additionally, I often hear that major reviewers such as Wirecutter are paid off to give certain brands the best review. Intuitively this doesnt make much sense since otherwise wouldnt all of the reviewers say that the same brand was the best? I just went mattress shopping and almost every review website gave a different brand the #1 rating. Isnt this evidence against the idea of reviewers being bought or am I missing something?
The reason I'm asking this is because I'm a soccer (football) referee. I read once (probably on Reddit) that, although the Laws of the Game don't make any considerations for it, we SHOULD consider handball law differently for each gender (sex). This is because men and women jump differently. I believe it said that women are more likely to raise their arms in a certain way, therefore they should be given more leeway in terms of what is considered a "natural" position for the handball rule.
Took it from this tweet, it reads: https://gyazo.com/d4bfb0e12ab1ae033b2c400c44372b51

I’m getting so frustrated cause some people are saying collagen does nothing and it’s as useless as jello and there’s others now going on social media platforms like TikTok and saying the Multi Collagen Peptide brand helps with skin, hair, nails, by a crap ton! Two Ibs is expensive. Should I waste my money on this or is it a scam?
A claim I heard Jessie Singal make
A friend of mine told me this but didn't provide any evidence and I couldn't find anything about it.
And the idea that this is because our brains haven't had enough time or exposure to incorporate cellphones into our subconsciousness yet.
I saw this claim online and laughed about it because it was so TikTok clickbaity. Then I thought about it and realized that in fact, I have never had a dream where I used a cellphone. Huh.
If you look this up, you will see a few different studies of varying credibility claiming a causal link between regular cannabis use and an increased risk of testicular cancer. This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing, so I’m wondering if there is any validity to the claim.
Furthermore, is it just smoking marijuana, or does it include other forms like CBD oil? So far I’ve just seen some anecdotal evidence on Reddit when it comes to smoking it.
I know multipliers exist and the pooling together of money makes the purchasing power grow often exponentially, but I read this as a comment today and I'm wondering if there's any evidence for this particular breakdown.
Got an ad on insta for "mushroom gummies". The website doesn't list psilocybin dosages, but it does say that "1-2 gummies body high and giddy, 2-3 gummies sensory effects and joy, 5-6 altered perception, 7-8 inner awakening". It's strongly implied that they're magic mushroom gummies. Psilocybin isn't legal where I live (NH, USA). Is this bullshit, is my FBI agent trying to get me?

This is the tweet that contains the information. Is any of this tweet bullshit or all true?
Every single time I’ve done a slower paced yoga class (yin, restorative, etc), the instructor will make a comment about how stretching the hips will release emotional memories because we “hold emotions in our hips”
I’ve heard this all over the world by hundreds of different yoga instructors, but I’ve always wondered if there’s any science to back it up?
Heard from a friend of mine that drinking water before eating something spicy will reduce the amount of capsaicin sticking to your tongue because of a water layer forming on your tongue. When I asked about noodles they said maybe not as much because they broth will wash it off.

I understand that our bodies are very compact and the circulatory system is complex and made up of an immense number of veins, but this sounds like bullshit. Is it?
My mother recently started taking a product called "Futureplex Flower Essences FR-RLS" for anxiety and she says it seems to be working. After reading the label, one of the active ingredients was "Pacific Poison Oak Whole" among other flowers/plants.
I've heard this claim once in a while, thoughts?
And is it permanent changes (to the bones, to the shape, etc) or just temporary?
My parents are convinced the reason I’m not getting hired is because I’m not sending thank-you emails. I think that they are nice, but ultimately do not matter in the end. Is it bullshit?
EDIT: I’m not asking if it’s a good/nice thing to do, I’m asking if it will make or break a hiring decision
I know this is vague but this is what someone told me and it sounds like bullshit. I’m wondering if anyone knows what they’re talking about
Purportedly improves IQ and that kind of thing, I'm skeptical it really does this but I think it may be useful for creativity and other things. Can anyone comment preferably from personal experience?

exactly as the title says
I have heard this quoted every time there is an eclipse. But yet, every time one has happened in my lifetime, I see tons of photos of the eclipse on social media from people who took it with their phone cameras. I never once have heard about anyone “damaging” their camera by taking a photo of an eclipse. So is it bullshit?
Although most of you think this is what ended our Fascinating Dinosaurs, I am thinking the hypothesis proposed in this Kurzegsagt Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjoQdz0nxf4&t=699 is more interesting and well-rounded. (Video takes about 15 min to watch)
TLDR and TIL - the Deccan Traps were one of the prevailing theories for the extinction of the dinosaurs before the asteroid impact theory was proposed in 1980. It wasn't until evidence of the impact was found globally in the geological record (the K-Pg or K-T boundary) that the Deccan Traps were largely dismissed as the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs, and yet about 40+ years later, evidence is suggesting that things are still not so cut and dry.
As someone born in the 1980s, the asteroid theory was what I was taught and I had no reason to think that it was published only four years before I was born. The Chicxulub crater wasn't even discovered until the early 90s. Wild.
