Forgive the intrusion, I am not Iranian, but I was hoping to visit Iran this June with a group tour that was unfortunately canceled due to the ongoing situation in the region.
Since I am still keen to visit Iran (I am a bit of a history enthusiast) I am hoping to re-organise a solo visit later this year, if the situation has improved. Could you assist by answering a few of my questions with regards to this?
Thank you in advance for any response, and apologies if any appear obvious/stupid to a local resident.
Hello, a friend of mine is trying to move to Canada and required a GIC (proof of payment) to get a visa there. They have already been accepted to the university and have their letter of acceptance but ever since the October 7th Israel/Palestine conflict many banks don't allow Iranian passport holders to open bank accounts. Does anyone know which banks Iranians abroad or Iranian passport holders can open an account in canada?
Hello dear Irani friends and Iran enthusiasts..
I am a foreigner (45 m) visiting Tehran from time to time. Looking for suggestions to spend leisure time and have fun around Tehran. I have been to Darabad - Darakah - Darband - Jemshidiye - Tochal. Still looking for your suggestions for fun clubs/cafes and natural beauties. Thanks in advance
Hello, I've participated in a Model United Nations (MUN) in India. I've gotten Iran as my country and I'm confused about their stance on the war. On one hand, they support a two-state solution recently with the OIC vote and Jordanian-led vote in UN General Assembly on pre-1967 borders for Israel and Palestine. On the other hand, it also supports a democratic referendum and the solution be based on the majority vote.
Salam, and best wishes. I am trying to find out the pricing of an item online, but as I don’t speak Farsi, I’m not sure how to understand the pricing given to me.
I asked out a rug, and this was their response:
سلام وقت بخیر🌹
۱۲ متری: ۱۷/۸۰۰ ۹متری: ۱۳/۳۰۰ ۶ متری: ۸/۹۰۰
How much would this be in Iranian rials since I’m trying to convert it into my countries currency to see if it’s worth it.
Thank you, and best wishes again to you, your family and the country of Iran.
Hi guys, I am a big fan of Iranian cinema. Any recommendations for new releases. Last movie I watched was Leila’s brothers and it was amazing. Also, I don’t speak Farsi so I would appreciate if you point me to websites with english subtitles. Thanks.

Hello people of Internet , I will be coming to Iran for a 15 day trip . I am very excited and have already started learning Farsi as it is similar to Hindi my native language.
I will be coming from Canada and I have a two day stop in Dubai. I just wanted to ask is there something that I can buy from Dubai and sell it in Iran?
I know it might sound weird, but I am a budget traveller . I was checking the price of iPhone, but it seems to be the same price as other countries is it really true?
For example, I went to Sri Lanka and cigarettes are really expensive there so I bought some from airport and sold it for half the price to a local guy.
Is there something in Iran that is quite expensive compared to other countries . Thanks
I heard this song growing up a lot and now that I want to find it, I cant.
I’m looking to understand the genuine sentiment of Iranians and sift through the massive disinformation and information warfare utilized online by intelligence agencies who are all heavily invested in regime change for their own geopolitical agendas.
Iran has already experienced CIA led regime changes which led to the revolution. Why is the consensus online (at least it seems) to pivot to the crown prince being advocated and representative of what “Iranians want” online when you have him openly pictured with Netanyahu making him another joint intelligence plant.
I can’t not but help use the situation in Gaza as my benchmark. The Iranians I see online repeat all the same Zionist talking points and think Israel supports them, appreciates them, when in fact they’re seeking aid in self determination from the very people responsible for a brutal occupation that has deprived the Palestinians the right of self determination. Is it only obvious to me that these Iranians are useful for their information warfare purposes, and that Zionism treats civilians as combatants with the dahiya doctrine
Similarly the Sunni monarchs aren’t sovereign either, preach madkhalism to divert from Arab/Persian religious unity, and don’t have the democratic elections that everyone calls Iran out for?
Now I know the Islamic regime is not great. But you have sovereignty and the right of doing what’s best for Iran on societal, political, institutional, and defense level. This should only be decided by the people and not through the espionage and subversion of foreign intelligence agencies. They have never made an actual change.
Greetings fellow Iranians from across the sea I am a culinary student from India we have this subject called "cuisines of North India" and we were discussing about the tandoor how it came via Muslims from Middle East, Persia (modern day Iran) to India and how it defines Indian mughlai cuisines I precisely asked my faculty for the origins and meaning of word "tandoor" he said it came from Iran and was known as "tanoor"
Now what I was able to figure out was it's timeline as- Tannūr (Arabic) Tanūr (Persian) Tandūr (Urdu) Tandoor (India)
All it says in all the languages it means a clay hollow stove, Chulha, Tanoor, Bhatti and Aatish Daan. But still never got my answer why it's called whatever it's called now shed some nice insights if you have
What is the view of the Iranian Government on Palestine? What does it want Palestine to become? I've heard they accept a one state solution with Palestine being in the majority and they also accept anything the Palestinian people decide through a vote. I need to know this, I need to defend Iran in an upcoming MUN and the topic is the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
Heading to Iran for 3 months hopefully in Oct and I'll take my phone though I may not be able to register it because I don't have my national ID card, only the number.
Will my apps still work as long as I have a VPN? Like can I log into email apps and LinkedIn and bank apps?
Hi, I live in the US and an Iranian friend of mine went to Tehran on Apr 10th. She arrived at the Tehran airport on Apr 11, and I was able to talk to her on Whatsapp.
Before she left, she did download a few VPNs. She said her mom's house doesn't have Internet, so she may get wifi and try VPN to access apps.
I haven't spoken to her since the 11th, and my Whatsapp or iMesage from my MacBook wasn't delivered. I know with the recent conflict, communication may be more difficult.
Are people from outside having difficulty getting in touch with family and friends in Iran? Is there another app I should try? Or I just wait it out?
Hi, i'm a history student (not from Iran), and i've been studying the question of the 1970s oil crises. However, for the case of Iran I found very conflictual accounts of whether the country did join the embargo or not. I know that they did not join the 1967 oil embargo, but for the 1973 one some say it did not join it but other say that they eventually joined the boycott by the end of 1973. Please if anyone knows anything, I'd be beyond grateful for an articulated answer (bonus points if u can back it up with an article)
As a Jordanian I apologize, but can only do so because I am also American 🤣, loads of Jordanians are fired up right now and can't stand that midget.

Thank you for your help :)
Dear my Iranian brothers and sisters. I am a British man born and bred here. I am of the minority that thinks for themselves and doesn’t conform to the narrative of corrupt-unelected government officials.
Theres been a lot of news recently that Iran and Israel are going to war. Please allow me to share what I see.
I see nothing but genocide in the Middle East and surrounding countries that the West are more than happy to fund and act out themselves.
Back in 2003, Mr. Hussain of Iraq apparently had weapons of mass destruction. It is 2024 and I’m still waiting for the WMD to be revealed.
The truth is, the West wanted to wage war with Iraq for their gold and natural resources and hid behind a ‘terr**ist’ narrative to do so.
The West (American and British) lied and look at the destruction caused and lives that were lost CAUSED by ‘my people’.
I fear the same is going to happen with Iran. It is so easy to manipulate the perceptions of ugly, ignorant citizens here in the U.K.
I don’t really know what’s going to happen with Iran, but I hope nothing sinister happens. However, it’s the British and American’s I’m talking about here, which I call the ‘Roman Empire’. The absolute bullies of the classroom and the biggest ter**ist around.
I would like to say I have had no part to play in electing these corrupt pigs. I can see straight through them, and they are worse than satan.
I also see what’s going on in Israel, and the British have a huge part to play in the killing of innocent people.
Iran has made the British news, and I’m watching with a keen eye to see the narrative they’re going to give for Iran.
I hope you are well in health and continue to be well.

Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip to Iran to explore the beautiful country and also to purchase some high-quality Iranian carpets for export. I'd love to hear your recommendations on the best places to visit and where to find authentic, top-notch carpets.
Additionally, I'd appreciate any advice on what to avoid and what precautions to take when making purchases. Since this will be my first visit, I'm also seeking general information about the local customs and etiquette.
Furthermore, I'm looking for recommendations for reliable shipping companies that have experience handling delicate items like carpets. Any insights on customs regulations related to exporting carpets would also be incredibly helpful.
Thank you all in advance for your valuable advice and recommendations!
Best regards,
