Hello everyone, I am currently dating a Persian woman and I’ve been learning a few of the more common words and calling her Azizam.

Valentine’s Day is coming up and I’m of course going to get her a huge bouquet of red roses. I want the card to say asheghetam because from what I understand it’s a much more intense way of saying I love you compared to dooset daram.

Here is my question can I just make the card say asheghetam and her name ? Will that be correct?

Does the translation align? Basically, I’m looking for it to say “god gave you life, and that’s enough” like, the gift of life is more than you could ever ask for anyways.

From the perspective of an Iranian who has never lived in Iran, after several months of being there, I was shocked by something strange: life in Iran is completely different from how people see it around the world. At the same time, life abroad is very different from what people in Iran think.

Life in Iran has many incredible details:

1. Extraordinary cleanliness: All institutions, public spaces, and streets are incredibly clean and beautifully organized, even in poor neighborhoods.

2. Diversity of personalities: Contrary to the media portrayal, there is a huge diversity in the personalities of individuals, and the Islamic character is not the only dominant one.

3. Incredibly cheap: Most goods and services in Iran are very inexpensive, not just for the rich but even for the poor. The cost of living is so low, and it's almost suitable for any income.

In a time when any citizen in the world, even in the West, struggles to secure a decent life, life in Iran is easier when it comes to education, healthcare, and securing family needs. However, Iranians, especially the youth, consider life in Iran to be catastrophic!! They have this perception that life anywhere in the world is a paradise. Do any of you think that Iranian youth are massively negatively influenced by Western media?

Important note: I’m not speaking from a Western perspective, but from the point of view of someone who lived for many years in the worst place in the world, Syria. Even before the war, life in Syria was easy, but it doesn’t compare to the ease and warmth of life in Iran.

Central Iran(Isfahan, yazd, Kerman) is honestly the best part of Iran. Im from both kerman and yazd and ppl from central Iran are involved in waay less drama, are much nicer, better looking, have the best history, and it’s the real Iran. All the drama you hear from persians it’s rarely from central iranians. God bless🙌

currently working on a song and i need some feedback from native farsi speakers.

Stumbled upon some old farsi songs and been looping Age ya Rooz specifically, quite a lot. Recently i was working on a song and had an idea to include farsi in the song lyrics.

I have the lyrics with me, i want people to confirm if I am doing justice with the pronouncing. Since I don’t want to feel stupid, nor do I want farsi speakers to feel offended ( with the way i butcher the pronunciation hehe ).

When I mean Persians, I mean Persians like say Shiraz Isfahan Yazd Bushehr or the general Fars area n not Iranian features as a whole. Everyone's different

I (28f) was born & raised in the US but both my parents are Iranian. My fiancé (35f) was raised in Tehran but moved to the states around 15 years ago. My parents are upper middle class living in the US, and his parents are very well off living in Tehran working in the medical profession (they have 2 beautiful homes, travel a lot, etc). We are getting married next year in Europe (a location set purposefully for easier access for family members from Iran, relative the US) and his parents have not offered to contribute anything to the wedding. My parents were always happy to contribute more, understanding the currency situation, but expected some contribution and at the very least the gesture / tarof of contributing. But so far we have heard nothing and my fiancé mentioned he’d rather contribute from his own savings than ask them (not as close with them, doesn’t want to be indebted to them and also says the currency situation makes it make no sense).

While the weak currency is a key factor and absolutely legitimate, given how well off they are and the frugal nature I have observed, I do feel disappointed that they wouldn’t offer to contribute anything especially as this is their only son and it’s customary in Iran for the groom’s family to pay. I can’t help but feel uncomfortable that they might be assuming my parents will take care of it, which makes me feel like my parents’ generosity is being taken advantage of.

Any opinions on this situation are greatly appreciated!

Hello guys. I'm a native speaker of a distinct Persian version which was emerged in Khorasan area (between Charmugan and Tus to be more precise). It has many elements of Kurmanji Kurdish and even some phrases remained from the Parthian language before its extinction.

I want to know wich version of Persian do you guys speak? I mean besides Persian, what other languages you can understand? For example I can easily understand Kurmanji, Mazeni, Laki and some Luri.

Hi all. I've been watching playthroughs of the game Amenti and they had a subtitle that said "ye chiz mikhad" and after doing a lot of research, I've come up with nothing definitive, but it keeps taking me to Persian translation sites. I've seen mikhad used a few times and I've also seen it used as an alternative to the name Michael, but I'm not sure since that's not the only context it's used in. I've also surmised that "ye chiz" is actually "ye chizi" but I'm not quite sure why Persian is being used in a game about Ancient Egypt. Could you all lend some insight specifically into the word Mikhad? This is mainly for personal curiosity about the translation, but researching it has turned up very few helpful results. Thanks y'all
